About

Erenshor is a single player adventure designed to capture the game play and feeling of an MMORPG. You will meet and group with hundreds of Erenshor's SimPlayers - which are your digital companions who persistently exist in the world, who progress independently, and who will always be ready to group and adventure along side you whenever you're ready.
Players will spend dozens or even hundreds of hours working on their characters. By the time they've reached the end game they'll be carrying godly weapons, long-lost spells, and legendary armor into battle - where they'll be nearly untouchable for all but the most fearsome opponents in Erenshor.

Erenshor is a single player love letter to the early MMORPGs that paved the way for the games we play today. Taking inspiration from the classics of the late 90s and early 00s, Erenshor does not offer quick rewards or hand-holding. Players will get lost, stumble upon deadly foes, and learn hard lessons. The keen adventurer will be rewarded.
Combat is deliberate and deadly. You'll need to consider positioning, strategy, and most importantly: what to do if it all goes wrong.
Your reward will be access to a monster's treasures once it's defeated. Some will drop swords, or armor, or jewels... and if you're lucky, it might have one of it's rare drops in its inventory - all for the taking.
If not - it'll respawn in time, and you'll slay it again for another chance.

Erenshor is built from the ground up to be a single player experience. All of the content, each puzzle, and all game play is hand built and balanced for one player, making Erenshor the only "MMO-Like" that is truly meant to be played alone.
You'll start with nothing, stranded on a small island off the mainland of Erenshor. With persistence, you'll gain power and wealth. Success will not come without failure, but with every party wipe and failed battle you'll gain experience and knowledge to come back and try again.

Partner with our signature Simulated Players to experience all of the content the game has to offer.
These players will level up alongside you (whether you're online or not), they'll find new items on their own and they'll find them with your help. They'll ask for loot drops, they'll buy and sell loot, join and leave guilds, and even invite you to raids as they get to know you. They'll remember you and how you treat them.
The SimPlayers all have their own pre-written personalities and motivations, and their own opinions of you and of the other players. You'll find favorites, and together you'll conquer the world of Erenshor one rare drop at a time.
Grow together as a 'server' in order to defeat Erenshor's toughest opponents... and then leave the realm to challenge the Gods themselves!

You'll hunt monsters, complete quests, and find lost artifacts worth more gold than you could ever wish for. Each upgraded item will bring tangible increases in power, and soon the unwavering foes before you will be pushed aside, revealing a challenge even greater.

NPCs all respawn. You can attack any of them, and they all drop loot. Even the good guys.
Factions exist. Wiping out a town may mean you're no longer welcome there... but it may open up doors elsewhere.
Thousands of unique items, from common drops, to legendary treasure.
Simulated Players: You may get an invitation to join a group of simulated players in slaying a dragon or even a God. The treasures are yours for the taking.
Cities, Dungeons, Tombs, Forests, Beaches, Forts, Meadows, Caves, and Mountain Ranges - a huge world to explore with secrets in every corner.
Lore and Story done your way. Investigate the mysteries of Erenshor, or don't. Kill mindlessly for power, or with direction and purpose.
A World Divided: The game world is divided into separate 'zones'. Areas are unique to themselves, and can be traversed at will - whether you're ready for it or not.
Multiple Character Slots and a shared Bank. Subsequent characters have the option of starting with a massive advantage, including XP bonuses.
No micro transactions. Ever.
*Note that SimPlayers do not use LLM or any other emerging AI model. They are run by a mixture of state machines and decision trees. This means no token fees, and no lapse in service after a certain amount of use.

Erenshor, a unique take on an MMORPG experience, yet you play it single player. The player base around you feels alive. Lots of details were put in to each non-player character, including: Purchase requests in chat Occasional whispers Greetings you when you party Telling you when an equipment drop is a good upgrade And many more~ This was clearly an important part for the developer, as it seems quite fleshed out when comparing other features in the game. Admittedly, this game is early access, and there is much to love. You have a bit of control of your party besides simply inviting them to join you. You can order them to follow, guard, pull mobs, and even change their battle roles so they more frequently heal, tank, and so on. This is where I started to see some issues, ones that can be easily fixed, but issues none-the-less. For example: If you get somewhere by jumping, your party becomes instantly lost. They'll wonder around, attack mobs along the path they take to get to you. You need to be careful about your pathing with your party in line. I could think of several ways to fix this, though it may be slightly more immersion breaking than the developer is willing: 1. Give them access to the same sort of jump mechanics the real player has. Allowing them to catch up to you on your climbing route. 2. Give the real player a button that allows them to teleport their party to them. Could even be a special quest item you get initially as to not break immersion as much. Now the good: The world has lots to love. Weather effects look/sound amazing. I'm a big sucker for weather effects and the few I've seen feel quite immersive, such as lightning streaking across the clouds, lighting them up. The quests are fun, and they don't hand hold which I like. The NPC dialogue is funny, well written, and gives me hope to see more interesting questing along the way. The game respects your time. There are no skills to spend countless hours on grinding. Everything seems quite accessible early on which is a great feeling. The dungeons are a fair size. There are generally multiple routes, mob types, mini-bosses and quests involved with each dungeon area Don't get me wrong, the game needs work and the developer is not shy about this notion, but for a one dev game I would say he knocked it out of the park thus far. I only have 8 hours played so far, but am quite impressed by what I have seen, and really look forward to seeing more. Possible ideas: Insect catching for fishing bait More non-combative animals to liven up the world Explanation of your starting guild (was not sure if it was mine, or how I started in it) Traveling NPC merchants World bosses (Raids that are open world and not locked into a dungeon)
Kinda weird game, offline MMO with bot players around, the game is fun in concept but feels "empty/janky" Would love if dev upgrade spell effects and make on-screen hit dmg alot easier to read, chat bubbles on players and more interaction as in the future of a.i you cant dodge to make world more "living". As in retro style mmo, the idea is good but it needs total UI overhaul imo and having party/grouping more fluid. the bots are mindless husks who just asks for your items from mob drops. Playing as mage/arcanist, at lvl11 there is only spells fpr dmg that just does pure dmg and visual effects are super boring, was expecting vanilla wow style where i can see fireball fly or frostbolt slow. There is like semi-polymorph stun spell early levels, meh.. For all these early levels it was just watching actionbar on spell cooldowns and just spam "pure dmg button" that has zero impact visually nor the floating dmg numbers are small when in party the whole visual aspect is kinda meh sadly. Maybe thats why i only loved vanilla wow visuals and artstyle that is immortal. But, i have high hopes as this is early access game and i can see how it can be polished to unique game. big + for having "admin panel" in mainmenu where you can optimize your "offlineMMO" with like minimap, show monster levels etc. Never played Everquest, but original ragnarök/silkroad/vanilla wow etc, retro MMO games, so i can see where the dev wants to lead this game. But i can totally recommend this game for what it is so far.
Great game!
single player 2003-style mmo, pretty neat
Excellent. It’s a great MMO substitute for those of us who no longer have the time to sink hundreds of hours into one.
insanely fun and chill game, absolutely great candidate for a cozy game to keep coming back to. it's real simple, if you liked anything about OG Everquest, there's a good chance youre going to like this too. if you liked earlier renditions of Runescape, you're probably going to like this as well. 8/10, missing points for less playable variety than I'd like to see (Frogloks, anyone?!), but otherwise an absolute standout of an indie title.
Such a neat experiment/experience. The devs are always checking on the forums and discord for feedback and are quick to act. I can't wait to spend more time in Erenshor learning all about the party dynamics!
Honestly, way better than what I was expecting. Great work and I can't wait to see what comes next in game!
This game is surprisingly deep. The more i play the more i realize how expansive this game really is. worth it if your into the old school mmo's. Excited to see how this game turns out.
a concept i've never seen before but works remarkably well. im hooked!
