I absolutely love this game and I have been playing it for over a decade. Even now I would absolutely recommend it. It goes on sale pretty often so if you are curious I would totally recommend giving it a shot.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Endless Legend stands out as one of the most imaginative entries in the 4X strategy genre, offering a distinctive blend of deep mechanics, rich storytelling, and a fantastical setting that constantly surprises. Set on the mysterious and dying world of Auriga, the game challenges players not just to expand and conquer, but to adapt to a world in decline, where long winters and scarce resources play as much of a role as enemy armies. Its world is built from a patchwork of diverse regions, each with unique features, quests, and minor factions, all of which contribute to a sense that Auriga is more than a map—it's a living place with history and consequence. What truly sets Endless Legend apart is its asymmetric faction design. Every major faction plays radically differently, not just in terms of units or starting bonuses, but in core mechanics. Some factions may forego food entirely, relying instead on unconventional systems like population sacrifice or industrial automation, while others might rely heavily on stealth, conversion, or dust-based economics. This extreme differentiation ensures that each faction offers a new experience, requiring players to relearn the rules of the game from the ground up each time they try a new one. Narrative is deeply integrated into the gameplay. Unlike many strategy games where story takes a backseat, Endless Legend introduces faction-specific quests and world events that unfold organically as the game progresses. These quests are more than simple objectives—they're storylines that build character and context for your chosen faction, often forcing tough decisions with lasting consequences. Side objectives from minor factions or environmental anomalies add further texture, making exploration as meaningful as expansion. City management is tightly linked to regional control. Each region on the map can only support a single city, which creates natural boundaries and prevents endless urban sprawl. Instead of rapid expansion, the game encourages players to develop vertically, carefully managing their output of food, industry, science, and dust. Resource trade-offs are ever-present, and the decision to research one technology over another can have far-reaching implications. The game's economy rewards foresight and planning, making each turn feel significant. Combat offers a tactical layer that, while ambitious, doesn’t always deliver the depth it promises. Players can choose to engage in manual battles, setting unit positions and activating abilities in turn-based skirmishes, but the system often suffers from clunky AI movement and repetitive encounters. As a result, many opt for auto-resolving battles unless specific tactics are needed. Despite this, combat still serves its purpose within the broader strategic framework, especially when supported by customizable hero units and specialized army compositions. The presentation of Endless Legend is nothing short of stunning. The art direction blends science fiction and fantasy in a way that feels both original and immersive. Stylized landscapes shift with the seasons, and the passage into winter brings not only visual change but gameplay implications, as cold snaps limit movement and drain resources. The soundtrack, composed with a blend of haunting melodies and ambient themes, enhances the mood throughout and stands as one of the most memorable aspects of the experience. Despite its strengths, the game is not without flaws. AI behavior can be inconsistent, especially in diplomacy, where opponents often act passively or irrationally. Multiplayer, while functional, can be slow and prone to syncing issues, which limits its appeal for more than casual sessions. The late game can also feel somewhat stale once a player secures a clear advantage, though the addition of expansions helps inject variety and complexity. Ultimately, Endless Legend is a unique take on the 4X formula, prioritizing atmosphere, narrative, and innovation over raw mechanical balance. It invites players into a deeply layered world where strategy and story are inseparable. For those willing to invest the time and learn the intricacies of each faction, it offers a rewarding and often beautiful experience that continues to stand out years after its release. Rating: 8/10

Endless Legend takes a while to learn and despite it's seemingly rich lore; the game just isn't fun game-play wise. I've been very patient with it, and after finally figuring out the basics you need a break just to try and get into it again at another point in time. After learning how to play it's OK, but there's better strategy games out there for me to play.

Some faction names aren't very descriptive. If you tech them right, those Broken Lords won't be Broke at all well into the game.
My experience with 4X games is quite superficial, but from what I've seen, Endless Legend seems to be an excellent game. Or at least it's new enough to benefit from several quality-of-life improvements and be quite intuitive and seemingly balanced (and not hurt the eyes), and old enough not to cost an arm and a leg. For a novice like me looking for highly customizable and replayable casual fun, the game definitely hits the spot. With a satisfying learning curve and those classic, highly addictive dynamic progression loops, the prospect is that many, many hours of quality fun will pass before I reach a point where things need to be shaken up by mods. For someone not at all dedicated to learning how to play the game well and watching guides on YouTube, i'm more than comfortable with my glacial and mediocre progress. The game is appropriately adjusted so as not to excessively punish an inept player, but capable of putting some pressure to force them to learn. That said, I don't know what the game's multiplayer scene is like, or even if it exists. And from what I've researched, the enemy AI is easily defeated by some tactics, especially abusing the diplomacy system or using more aggressive tactics at the beginning. This is one of those games where, on higher difficulties, the enemy basically doesn't play better, but rather, the game cheats in their favor. This can apparently be mitigated using mods, but I haven't reached the point where it was necessary. The tutorial, by the way, is terrible. It teaches half the game and then throws you into the playground without much direction. They even forget to tell you what you have to do to win. The gameplay is intuitive and easy to grasp through experimentation, but it's worth reading the manual or looking for a summary somewhere else. The presentation is simple, but it doesn't disappoint. The UI is very good. The music is appropriate. And for an original fantasy universe, it has a lot of charm and personality. However simple they may be, some faction quests are surprisingly interesting from a world-building perspective. The writing is quite vivid and does a good job of selling whatever it's trying to convey. I especially liked the Broken Lords. I recommend searching on Google to check out the artwork. Overall, a solid game, surprisingly beginner-friendly, highly replayable, offers rewarding complexity, and runs perfectly smoothly. If you've always wanted to check out the genre and were intimidated by those 4+ hour Civilization tutorials and thousands of icons, I think this one is a good pick.
