Encore Classic Card Games

Well I'm afraid I would have to go for no. This is slightly improved to those Hoyle Casino card games but it's not good enough as it feels like I'm playing those Hoyle card games back in the early 2000s as the screen and textures is too small and need to be upscaled for 1080p or higher. Also why is there no Texas Hold-Em in this game?

This is a re-release of the 2012 version of Hoyle Card Games, but with the Hoyle brand stripped out. Their license probably expired, so Encore simply swapped in their own name. Sadly, there's also a key feature removed: the ability to choose the card faces and back designs (which, BTW, is still in the product description!). Assuming this feature was taken out because of the Hoyle licensing, it didn't actually solve the problem since each game still defaults to a Hoyle back design from the original, including the very recognizable Maverick and Shell backs that must be trademarked like everything else owned by the US Playing Card Co... Aside from those changes, it's the same simple yet entertaining game from over a decade ago, just running on modern systems. There haven't been any significant updates, which means no widescreen or higher resolutions. Also, when selecting the Blackjack game it'll open in a second window because the original software had actually pulled that mode out of their separate Casino Games product. For the uninitiated, what you're getting here is a decent selection of 20 standard card games against computer players with quirky personalities (which you can reduce or mute), plus a whopping 50 Solitaire games. Some of these games allow you to choose between rule variations, but not in as many ways as you'd expect. Also, be aware that the "Poker" game included is only 5-Card Draw (you'll need to buy Encore's Casino product for other Poker games). There are various unlockable customizations for the tables/backgrounds, music, cribbage boards, and other tchotchkes that you can buy with in-game currency earned from winning the various kinds of games. It's a nice idea, but not really worth the effort. Ultimately, this is an old game that's worth a play if it's ever discounted. But it's not the best experience Hoyle/Encore has ever offered, and is sorely in need of a new edition with better resolutions and greater gameplay options.

Highly Addictive! I owned the Hoyle version back in the 90's. if you love cards this is the game to get. Forget what the other guy said, It now Runs on windows 11.

missing allot of the face creator stuff that they used to have back in the day. In Fact I think that the encore classic cards and board games have down graded over the years instead of upgrading. Overall really crappy in everyway compared to when they first started coming out.
