While initially i was impressed by seemingly wide and deep game aspects, not all of them held up. Farming, reputation, sidequest, calendar turned out to be very limited or generally irrelevant, but very interesting combat system, character development and party system compelled me to spend over 200 hours while exploring plot of this game to the end.
Very solid JRPG-like game love the combat and characters
The game is simple in some aspects and can be very challenging on others, but at the end of the day is a very fun game, there's a lot of playable characters with a lot of skills, a system that let you farm, chop trees, minning, brew your own potions and a lot more. The characters are enjoyable, their personalities are really different and you get to see a few funny interactions between them. Even some NPCs have some really funny twist or comments, like there's a dude that builds a shop in the middle of nowhere in a place infested with monsters and when you chat with him he says he thought he saw an "business oportunity" and thought he was going to be rich since his shop is the only one there, but after he built it, he saw all the monsters and no one travelled there due to the danger and now he cant leave because he is pretty much bankrupt xD The story is pretty straight foward and yet very well written, even tho you get to play with 3 different parties in different areas and time frames, you don't get lost on the story and it all ties up very nicely at the end.

Having a lot of fun playing this game, it reminds me of playing the old Final Fantasy games on Nintendo when I was a kid.
Pretty good RPG maker game, and worth it even at full price. Here's a few things I like about it.
Short version

Lots of content
Many characters
Bugs are fixed very quickly

Long version

Lots of content: I'm at over 100 hours in and I'm not even close to done. I do like to take my time and try to everything though.
Many characters: You progress through the story by chapter for the main characters. Each main character as his/her own party of several characters.
Bugs are fixed very quickly: I've encountered many small glitches, but nothing big or game breaking. I've reported them and they've all been fixed in less than 24 hours.
This is a good game. Many various systems within the game to have fun with. However, sometimes it becomes too much. Meaning sometimes I just don't want to have to do so many things just to play the game. I can overlook much of the little systems that every game developer seems to want to use or add just to make their game stand out and seem fresh, different or unique. OK, so developers have to make improvements to the game systems. Personally I'm not convinced of that. A good game, like so many things in life, doesn't need an overabundance of bells and whistles to make it good. By about 20-25 hours I was growing weary of so much within the game. I just wanted to get to a town. I just wanted to have fun exploring along the way. The more I played the more frustrated I became. I have yet to find the town the game tells me is where I must go. It is southwest via the roads the quest log tells me. But there seems to be no road to follow. That's OK I like exploring. Well, even that is stolen by the game. Exploring is maddening when you have to fight every few steps. It becomes tedious rather than fun. And there is certainly no feeling of adventure and discovery because it is all and only fighting. Yes there are treasure chests. But almost never worth the effort knowing you will have to fight and fight and fight some more. It might be better if I could make it to the town. I would have a base of operations and go out and explore and or fight at my discretion. But the game forces it all on you with long meandering caves with designated save areas that don't replenish your energy you need to collect wood and stone and other resources. You need a bed to replenish that. I was never even sure I was heading in the right direction to move the story forward. And this is all at the very beginning of the game. So being frustrated I decided to take a break from the game. That was perhaps my biggest mistake. Coming back to it was nearly impossible. All the bells and whistles I mentioned earlier in this review are now complicating my effort to get back into the game. I have a long weekend coming up and I'm asking myself; do I spend time relearning all the systems of this frustrating game or do I move on to something new? As much as I want to keep playing this game; because I did have a lot of fun initially. And for that reason I give it a thumbs up. It deserves a positive rating. But in my opinion it doesn't deserve a positive review. Perhaps others will get past the frustration I feel and get past the areas I seem to be stuck in. I, myself, will unfortunately probably just move on to something else. Good luck if you give this game a try.
Huge game, with tons of stuff to do. If you like RPGMaker games, give it a try.
i would recommend this game highly , 120 hours in and loving it one of better RPGS iv ever played
.
Empire Chronicles.
