This game rather makes you level up trough questing more than from progression. In overworld pretty much 90% of the time you will come across the enemies that are much higher lvl than you and 1-2 tap you without much rhyme or reason even for gothic standards. The map is too big for its own good and there is not much to explore either. This game has surprising ammount of dead ends with some extra powerful enemy but it only rewards you with a 1 healing or mana potion and some scrap, not even any good ammount of money. Game is very stingy with the weapons you can find and if you find something good it will require you to stat dump for up to 30 levels to even use the damn thing. Despite that even if you find some early-mid tier weapon you can just stunlock almost every enemy and even if you deal no damage at first, just keep spamming attack and for some reason you will deal more and more damage with each uninterrupted hit so you can cheese a lot in a mindless way. Armor and Weapon progression feels very bad overall and requirements are too steep. If you are interested in playing this game then do so only for questing experience as it's pretty much the best part of the game.
Best autism representation in gaming history.
it is a great classic style rpg start for nothing work your way up
The best Gothic-like
its like a "meah version of Gothic" with guns... but doesn't even get close to that type or progression and immersion
This game is poopie poop💩. clunky combat, ugly animations, a story that makes zero sense. The controls feel like steering a drunk robot, the UI looks like it was designed in 2003, and enemies will one shot you for the first 10 hours for absolutely no reason. The developers had no idea they were creating the perfect autism simulator but here we are.
мне понравилось карта огромная и проработанная а так же много интересных заданий и интересных механик
Fantastic game. Bit janky. Huge world, lots of quests and characters to meet, places to explore. The difficulty is pretty unforgiving for like the first half of the game, then it gets easy at the end like all Piranha Bytes games. But the devs really outdid themselves with Elex. The world is massive, and the story is an awesome fusion of genres. The combat is janky af but that allows for some cheesy methods to get around the high difficulty (hint: use the flamethrower). All in all I had a lot of fun with this one and am going to play the sequel right away.
Если вы поклонник или любитель игр от Пираний и каким-то чудом до сих пор не играли в этот "шедевр" - не начинайте. В этой игре убого всё.
ELEX is a game with an interesting idea. Mixing fantasy, science fiction, and classic RPG elements sounds great, and you can clearly see that Piranha Bytes wanted to create something different after Gothic and Risen. Sadly, the final result didn't fully work for me. The game definitely shows its age, especially when it comes to the graphics and some of the mechanics. My biggest problem was the beginning. It felt very slow, and I often found myself getting bored before the game finally became more interesting. The chapter structure also feels strange. The first chapter takes up most of the game, while the remaining chapters can be finished much faster. For me, this makes the overall pacing feel uneven. ELEX isn't a bad game, but I expected more. It has some good ideas, but none of them are strong enough to make the game stand out. In the end, it's just a solid average RPG that never became truly memorable for me.
