STAKES. GUNS. SLOW-MO. Fight werewolves and vampires in a reality-shifting motel. Dive through barricades to escape the grasp of evil puppets. Destroy the villain you loved. A new, third-person love letter to classic shooters. Neo-noir never looked so good.

Reviews
Peak
A solid 5/10. Reluctant recommend, all things considered. The writing is very close to how Max Payne speaks, most times, and this game is if the Max Payne nightmare levels were an entire game. Remedy would like this. That's the pros that carry this game for me. At least I can give props to the devs for making the levels never difficult to navigate. They're not exactly linear, but even subconsciously you'll be moving toward where you need to be. Also, dev pet paintings. Because on the other hand, gameplay gets repetitive eventually. There is absolutely no room for style. Diving is a very useless feature unless you want to get bumrushed by enemies the moment you're on the ground. Turns out that "a Max Payne-esque game where you fight exclusively enemies that have no guns" is a concept that really needs some work. Difficulty choices are just... bad. you either play the game normally or you tick the difficulty setting up one bit and experience a kaizo version of the game where you're forced to play perfectly with no room for "style" or immersing yourself in the game. As somebody who prefers not to play on "normal" for most games, I really hoped for an inbetween.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

· Atmosphere is nice · Voice acting rocks · The camera movement is weird/glitchy. · Inputs are ignored sometimes. · Changing weapons via mousewheel is slow (you have to wait for the weapon to be switched before you can switch to the next one again) · Often physics are janky. · diving/dodging is a disadvantage · The Levels are repetitive and have no verticality at all (There only is a ground floor at all times) · The art-style is rather mid imo. · Price is way too high Doesn't sound too good BUT the gameplay is fun still and it makes up for it. However, I wouldn't pay more than 10€ for it.

never been to texas but I bet it's exactly like this
Lovely Noir style story, narration is top notch. plays good. I reccomend to get it but I think game overstays it's welcome, by the time I got to 1st big boss I was already being done and boss itself was horrible. Rest of the game gameplay wise felt like a chore at that point since I am not that good or invested in combat itself, but if you are invested in combat, you should have way more fun with 2nd hald of the game than I had, excluding ♥♥♥♥♥♥ boss(es)
