[Titan Lore]
There are multiple types of Titans in the world. The most well known are the Turtle Titan, the Serpent Titan, and the Crab Titan.
The Turtle Titan is difficult to damage and has a deadly range attacked. It roams the ocean causes massive waves that wash over islands and carry away anything in their path.
The Serpent Titan likes to roam near storms and causes large typhoons which suck anything up into the air. Since it often swims below water, it can be difficult to attack.
Little is known about the Crab Titan other than its not afraid to walk up onto dry land to attack humans and buildings directly. How do you even stop something the size of an island with 8 legs and made of ancient stone?
[The ocean sim]
The water in Breakwaters isn't just there to make waves. You can directly interact with it by crafting Refined Crystal items and building stone walls. Delve into its depths to find rare resources, build a wall to protect your home, or create a holding tank of water to supply your water pumps and power your contraptions.
There is over 360 sq kilometers of simulated ocean to explore, filled with unique places, strange creatures, and quirky people to meet.

I keep coming back to play this game every year to see if anything changed, and sure, some things have changed, but not much. They still don't have a craft from storage function, nor mod support. The game has been in early access for the last 4 years, and their time table is a simple 'who knows'. Thought steam made it so it was their policy to require a time frame, but guess not. The only redeeming factor of this game is the water effects. It is quite fun messing around with the water with the various tools, however that gets old fast. It plays clunky, and the whole inventory setup is a mess. I am just not feeling it, and it is one of those games that you regret buying. A minor gripe about this game is their naming of the game. Try looking on google for any information about the game. You will be flooded with breakwater information for nearby locations (the actual device, not the game). Having a generic name can lead to annoying times when looking for information related to a game that fails to give players needed information to begin with. Seeing how the game is progressing over the years, I feel it will never be done, and is only there as a possible income source for them. Sadly, another developer being placed on my steam ignore list. Side note: I know sometimes developers respond, but I no longer have any trust in you, so don't bother. I won't read it. Updating review: after playing a little bit more, I learned that the creator has no clue what they are doing. Things that were ok before are now broken. Trying to place a pillar is now like playing that buzzing doctor game while drunk. Invalid surface, then not, then invalid then not, and trying to find the right pixel that will allow you to place it is annoying (on a wall that you can place another wall on just fine!). I am starting to believe this is going the godus route. Earlier review was maybe a 4/10, now Id say 1-2/10, and that is me being nice. Final update: Done with the game now. Just spent hours building a new base. Went to my first island to transfer items from there to the new one. All my placed items are no longer there. Chests, beds, lights, gone. Go back to new base, and what do you know? All of the lights and chests I spent ages building are now gone too. Exit game and reload, same. This game is a buggy mess. At this point, it is unplayable. Four years of decline in this game. Score now is a 0/10. The developer should be ashamed for this game. Sure, it is done by one developer, however, the dev made more than enough to hire someone to work on it, but wont. Steam stats show around 50k owners at 19.99, which is about $999,950. Add on top of that the kickstarter $98,314, then minus the steam cut, and there is more than enough for the dev to have another work on this game. Not happening because of the devs greed.
Is this game dead?
I've been following this game for AGES, but unfortunately, development is almost non existent and comprises almost entirely of fixes and improvements. The main draw here was the water physics, but... well, I was reminded of this game because enshrouded just recently introduced water physics in their most recent Wake of Water update. I really can't recommend this game: There's nothing this game offers that you can't get from voyagers of nera or enshrouded, both of which are much more stable, have more frequent content updates, and have more content in their games overall, for pretty much the same price. (~10$ difference) There would need to be a LOT of content releases and improvements to this game to make it worth it.
no updates, can't recommend.
Fun game, great concept, slow dev time and appears to be abandoned now sadly.
Beautiful @SoaringPixelsGames, this game is an absolute gem its appealing to the eye, its got a good building system, the enemies are actually difficult to fight if your not prepared, if you go in with just some canon balls expect to get wiped clean out Lol the story is lacking in my opinion but that's probably because i was so caught up in exploring and building....and The water physics.... absolutely mind blowing things you can do with the water in this game its fun to mess around with its even better that you can just create a hole in the water and catch fish that way LOL. i never write reviews but im patiently waiting for a major update on the game, already finished the story and killed the serpent and it was a blast one of the best 13 hours ive played on a game for sure. Again @SoaringPixelsGames what a piece of art you got here BEAUTIFUL!!
they lie
Разработчик забил на свой по сути не дурной проект, очень обидно.
The game is poorly optimized and becomes incredibly choppy as a result.
5years and still early access. So dissapoint !
