I hated Gundam Wing, 00, and SEED before buying this game... ...Now I only hate SEED! It’s decent, but mainly for CE fans. All jokes aside I can definitely say, this game is an absolute blast. I know this is a port, but I didn't have a Vita and didn't even knew this game existed so idgaf if it’s a port of an old game. It's from the Battle series so it's still damn enjoyable. I even dared to be stupid and deleted my save after I 100% the game, purely to enjoy the climb up from a barely passable underling to an absolute badass all over again. While I might not be very fond of the Cosmic Era, I do not regret buying this game in the slightest. It gave me exactly what I wanted and then some. I like that this game is the only official action based Gundam game in PC where enemies aren't sponges. Mobs die in just a few hits while Ace Pilots take a while to die. It gives off the feeling of being an ace pilot, ESPECIALLY if you use grunt suits to clear the Phases. It's originally from the era where Gundam games were more on the side of Mecha simulation. Nowadays your three flavors of Gundam are Versus arena fighter, G Generation, or free to play gacha trash. There are a few exceptions, but not much. I enjoyed Battle Destiny for what it is. If you're not sold, it's similar to Gundam Battle Universe on the PSP. If that game tickles your fancy, Battle Destiny is similar in game feel but with a Cosmic Era backdrop instead of a Universal Century one. The Versus mode here sucked balls. I learned that they removed the Multiplayer/online component of the game, so you're stuck with s*itty A.I which is somehow worse than the A.I they had for their Battle PSP games. Like sh*t, fighting an F91 while using a Zaku I in versus mode back in Battle Universe will guarantee you a spot at the last place because the Zaku I is NOT doing sh*t against it. In this game, somehow a Ginn can easily defeat the SF... So, yeah you're gonna find yourself playing the Story Mode or the Extra Missions rather than the Versus. Anyway, this port finally gave us good Gundam action based game that is not Gundam Breaker, and I'm so grateful that it's on Steam. My interest in C.E. really crashed hard about midway through Destiny’s airing, but I grabbed this to support it because hopefully it helps send a message to do more, like a remaster of Federation vs. Zeon, Gundam vs. Zeta, Encounters in Space, all that. I really hope that with this being released, they can remaster or port the other Battle games as well, or finally give us a damn Versus game on Steam. If you're a fan of Seed or Seed Destiny or you’re itching to play a Gundam action game that is not Gundam Breaker or want to avoid malding by not playing GBO2, then you should try this! 7/10
This was a game of all time, I guess. The AI in this game fights in a way that tells me it was designed by the type of salaryman that soullessly optimizes every aspect of how he plays a game to the point that it is no longer about the experience of playing a game and enjoying the design, but rather turning every single action he makes into an instance of "if enemy does X; do Y". Get close to any enemy Ace and watch as they do the most ugly, choppy looking series of dodge spamming you have ever witnessed to get out of melee range. Get near a group of enemies and they will ignore every other ally on the map to focus you down and stagger you out of being able to play the game. The mobile suits have no real weight to them, and any flight mode MS handles terribly with controls that seem to flip whether or not they are inverted. And the Aces? Half of them have an unchoreographed fast firing attack of some variety that will kill you instantly. As for the story... Most games based off a series try to keep the significant dialogues and character growth so that someone who hasn't watched the series can still understand what is happening. Most games that offer paths let those paths have a different outcome from each other, even if it is just a different slide. This game does neither. It takes the already weak, uninspired story of SEED and then cuts out a few notable battles to say "hey remember THIS fight guys?! Remember THIS really cool scene?!", which they don't even bother to recreate with cutscenes or anything to let a player understand what is actually going on. There are multiple times in this game where a character death that is supposed to be dramatic and the centerpiece of a scene are literally just "AI flies to this point, then blows up abruptly". You can miss it simply by playing the game and not looking at a MS you can't lock on to because it's on your team. There is no tension simply because this game makes no effort to incentivize the player to care about what is happening, because what is happening is not explained in the slightest. If you can force yourself past that, then the decisions you make do not matter anyways. Join Archangel? Stay with ZAFT? It doesn't matter, it all ends the same. Gihren's Greed, a franchise that launched over a decade prior, let you actually alter the course of history *for individual characters*, and this game cannot be arsed to even give you a different slide if you take on of the three preset paths they give you. Get this game on sale or not at all, honestly. BanNam should be embarrassed by how grotesquely they mismanage the Gundam IP with regards to videogames.
MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM SEED BATTLE DESTINY REMASTERED --------------------------------------- It still has that same chaotic, boost-dashing combat, but now it looks sharper though not everything aged as well as you’d hope. The remaster does a nice job polishing things, even if some menus and systems feels stuck in the past. There’s a weird charm to it tho, like it knows exactly what fans loved and didn’t mess with it too much. Missions can get a little repetetive, but blasting through enemies in your favorite suit never realy gets old. Controls are mostly solid, but sometimes they just dont respond the way you expect. It’s not a perfect comeback, but it’s honestly kinda nice seeing this game get another shot. Enjoy the game.
way too difficult for the Gundams you get , wanted to play Gundam and have fun not Armored Core by From Software and have no fun. ¨Oh but difficult is fun¨ no it ain´t not when itś just you and a partner mech against a entire army and itś also a defence mission oh also defeat 4 boss character who are stronger then your Gundam and defeat this spaceship that is trying to end your spaceship while being rushed from all sides and they attack your ship . the amount of times i had to ditch the fighting just to make sure the main mission is done while they are absolutely hammering on you is quite a few times . oh and what the game does not tell you when you pick what kind of character you are basically just a human or a New type is that if you pick human some suits just perform worse, Oh but apparently New type level slower then where is the leveling system for the pilot you made ? cause as far as i have seen there is none there is basically no reason to make one aside from picking human and having a harder time cause they made it so that some suits just perform worse . from the very start you are weak and it basically does not change while trying to be a 1 man army just slogging your way through the story . sure you can upgrade the gundams you use and yes it makes you stronger but it doesn´t matter much in the long run cause the story just sends out the same enemies but somehow stronger and better aim who will just absolutely erase your health and they are never alone while you are basically solo cause they won´t aim for your partner unless it hits something and good luck on that . after a while with the higher difficulties the enemy just becomes a HP spunge and tanks damage where it before would be destroyed in 1 hit basically punishing you if you don´t pick a ¨better¨ suit which you will have to relearn how it works from start and making that suit stronger too throwing off your your feel cause you are used to the previous suit and learned to optimise your handeling with it, more health and more damage from a previously weak suit does not make for fair difficulty . i wished there was a way to level up suits aside from the capped amount you can raise it´s skills.
This is a pretty fun little game, even if it is a remaster of a Vita game. As you play it you'll probably feel the Vitaness a little bit in the maps and whatnot but I think it's only sometimes notable. Regardless of your thoughts on SEED and Destiny as shows, the Cosmic Era has a lot of really great designs, so I'm pretty happy with the machines in the game. My understanding is there's about 110 total, which isn't terrible. Biggest miss for the game would probably be the lack of underwater sections, which I imagine would've functioned like Space maps but transferring between above/under sea probably would've been a bit much for the Vita, and iirc there aren't enough aquatic suits to be that interesting, even if piloting a GOOhN would be funny. Definitely worth a pick up if you're a Cosmic Era fan. Well, maybe on sale anyways. Fairly easy to get all achievements too by the look of things if that's important.
謝謝這遊戲讓我體認到我已經過了那個願意投入大量時間去農去磨練技術的時期了。
Worse than 15 year old PSP TITLES. A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PSP had better controls and abilities than this ♥♥♥♥ made in 2025, it's not even ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CLOSE. No dash when double tapping directions. Holding primary fire doesn't charge up an alternative attack, just gives better tracking which should be defualt when you could simply dash to break locks, huge downgrade. No alternative weapon usages when combining X+B , B+Y , X+Y or in combination with RB RT LB LT. You have 2 bumpers and triggers compared to a PSP and they basically don't do ♥♥♥♥, RB is used for target lock LMAO. I would fire every single person that worked on this POS, put the fries in the bag.
Too hard? Bad controls? Smells like ♥♥♥♥♥ up in this review section. Played just fine, 100%'d the game. Learn the tech, grind your suit stats. It's a fun game, Super reminiscent of Federation vs Zeon and Gundam vs Zeta on the PS2
The game's controls are admittedly somewhat janky, but the gameplay is a lot of fun and it's a really good throw back to an older era of game style. There just hasn't been any new games made in this style for a really long time. However, this is clearly designed for fans of the Cosmic Era only and does not bother to tell a complete story. It instead has missions that are based on scenarios from the show/manga/past CE events mentioned in other media that will allow existing fans to recognise the references in a way really similar to how Rengou VS ZAFT 2's PLUS mode was handled. The most interesting aspect is to play through this game as an OC, and starting out with mass production suits. Each MS's parameters are quite faithful, so the struggle of going against an enemy warship fleet or enemy ace pilots while piloting as a grunt is really noticeable early on. This creates an unique gameplay experience to see what being a grunt suit pilot is like in the CE setting. The space maps are fully 3D and you can rotate around, allowing you to approach warships from different angles or fight other MS up side down. This kind of space design has been absent in most of the recent gundam titles. Not to mention how atmospheric it is to fly towards incoming barrage of beams, machine gun fire and missiles coming from an enemy warship. These are definitely big highlight moments of this game worth experiencing. You can later on unlock other playable pilots and stronger MS of course, as well as upgrade them beyond their limits to open up more gameplay options or scenario roleplay opportunities. If you belong to the Earth Alliance, you can even turn your Natural OC into one of those druggies, and the in-combat dialogue lines will turn more aggressive/crazier. Most suits' movesets are also quite faithful and there are a lot of good references; though I do find a few that are rather lackluster in presentation. Overall, the game is a throwback to an older era of gundam games and will certainly scratch an itch for some, but it's not a particularly welcoming experience to those who aren't already a fan of the series.
