If you liked the anime and aren't a window-licking chud, you'll probably enjoy this. Ignore the beta-bots complaining about choosing a body type, the game is pretty, combat feels good once you get it down, and seeing the story from an outside perspective from the main characters of the original story is pretty cool. All in all I'm not disappointed, there are some genuine challenges in this game, the gear system can be a little frustrating and some of the enemies are basically just reskins of earlier enemies. Outside of that, big wins feel big, and sometimes some basic monsters pummel you to death because you accidentally spawned waayyy too many of them. The character creation is fine, there are a lot more options than I thought I would have going in. A lot of color choices for hair/eyes etc. and you can even customize your gear once you've gone through a bit of the story. I thought the demo felt good, and the released product does too. The combat gives you multiple ways to fight, though some situations call for specific tactics, just like an actual MMO.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 1: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

In conclusion, as a die-hard SAO fan who has bought the entire series, Im very disappointed and would not recommend anyone to buy this. It doesnt deserve to be called a game, and I will never buy any more games from Bandai Narmco in the future, its a cheater! If you want to know what is the dog shi*te, you can try it. this game that even a map can be copied again and again to build all over the mazes and only more than a dozen kinds of monsters from the star of the game to end. After you try the demo, i can tell you with certainty that youve already played through everything in this game except for ther storyline, and the storyline is the kind of plot where you can see the ending with your eyes closed. Fight system i cant find any highlights, the designer want to learn with Dark Souls, but it turned out they were completely incapable of it. In short, its a scene and ui display that can hardly be considered a game, even the map itself has a chaotic and illogical layout.
i love the game 10 out of 10
The biggest issue you will find are the elite/boss encounters. The game designers thought it a fun time to mix the worse types of mobs together in multi-phase bosses. You will get stun/animation locked so much and bosses will do area size attacks mixed with elites that also do arena sized attacks that will loop into each other. You can seriously get trampled without the ability to roll/guard the attack that your encounter will just be a roll of the dice on whether you got good RNG versus more skill. you cant express skill if youre spending 90% of the time just trying to get off the damn floor from all the BS tramping youll fight. Also the arenas are very small so it compounds that problem. The second part is what's the point of leveling? honestly, everything matches your level so level 1 feels like level 50.
65h+ Review: You're getting the "bones of a game" that was not finished. There are a lot of refined elements and a ton of missing, unfinished, or crude elements hastily touched up enough to sell. It would be worth it heavily on sale if they fix a LOT of things and add in some of the obviously missing / cut content. Combat Pros: Combat is smooth, actions are smooth, skill attacks are smooth and fun Combat Cons: All enemies are just teleport/charge AoE Knock down/Stun spam Combat Downfall: Skills/Items are in a queue system so unless you ani-cancel you're stuck in attack queue if you spam attack button. The worst part is that in very hard difficulty ALL the enemies are spamming teleport/charge knock down AoE attacks and YOUR skills/item uses get stuck in a queue for moves & healing where its greatly delayed OR nothing happens until all the NPC enemies actions are finished Enemies: If you played the demo you've fought 75% of the enemies you'll ever see in the game. Bosses are often just bigger versions of the regular enemies with knock down/stun spam. The dungeon boss you fought in the demo? Same one you'll fight 20+ times in other dungeons. Dungeons: They are big and beautiful but if you played the demo, you've seen 75% of the dungeons in the game. They did little things like switch some of the same map tiles around to break up the monotony. The 2nd floor adds a new one, but you guessed it - its the same one you'll then see over and over. World: The world is gorgeous and extremely large on both floors with picturesque views and large open plain/valleys. However, they appear mostly barren and the combat gets noticeably bad near rocks, slopes, or structures where you or the enemy gets stuck in endless rolls or constant posture resets that interrupt your attacks/skill moves. There are a TON of boss areas in all the maps that are empty where you can see they planned for something to be there but there is nothing. Having finished all the quests and cleared all the maps, I know its not just something I missed. Story: The story is decent, but you don't get into it much until 20+ hours into the game. There is a lot of story behind side quests (not main story) so if you're not doing side quests you're missing out because the main story is a little short (imo). Characters: You get all the top favorites from SAO as unlockable companions and they did each of the characters justice in personality, attitude, voice acting and attack animations. Truly a good job. Weapons crafting (or crafting in general): Its worthless and it even tells you that in the tool tip because you get so many weapon drops for your cardinal level that its pointless to craft unless you need crafted weapons to use as upgrade materials for your preferred weapon, BUT, if you're playing the side quests you will never be lacking in weapons to sacrifice to upgrade your primary weapons. Item crafting is similarly worthless as you make so much money, buying the items you need is super easy, and crafting them instead takes money anyways, BUT, you only truly need 8 items only for the whole game.
