DYNASTY WARRIORS 8 Empires is part of the "Empires" series, in which you aim to conquer ancient China using both strategy and the one warrior versus one thousand tactical action the WARRIORS series is known for.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.57/day in the week to Jul 30 → 0.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is my comfort game, and I play it on multiple consoles. My wife and I call it the "taking over China" game, and we play it together on rainy days. I have dumped so many hours creating custom characters/factions and pitting them against each other, and whether you play as a ruler or just fight battles under the computer's ruler, the game is just so damn satisfying. I feel like this was the peak of the franchise.
The game suffers from severe technical issues on my PC. The quick save feature does not work properly. Every time I press the quick save button, the game takes me back to the main menu, and all of my progress is lost. I then tried using manual saves instead, but after playing for about four hours, the game crashed. When I relaunched it, all of my progress from those four hours was gone. I checked my save files and found that my last save should have been at 10:54 PM, but the game had only recorded a save from 10:22 PM.

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 12: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

A hidden gem in gaming. If you like Warriors games already, this is a must. It is a very cool aspect, being able to be the ruler of an empire over the DW officers. Extremely well done in this version too. Probably the best Empires game as most everything seems well thought-out and smooth.

[th]Aspecto[/th][th]Puntuación (0-10)[/th][th]Comentario[/th]

Jugabilidad7Musou sólido: pegarle a multitudes sigue siendo terapéutico.

I can only recommend it if you've been playing dynasty warriors for a long time. Way too many issues with controls and crashes for someone who hasn't played before. It crashes if you just tab out of it and not even alt+f4 can close it. Poorly ported to pc, save very often.
It's a poorly made port. Do better KOEI.
Game riddled with bug technical glitches and bad optimization from weapon going invisible and flickering to them turning into other weapons rapidly and depending on the camera angle you can't tell where the blasted hit box is..
My nostalgia and immersion were destroyed by Japanese voice over with English subtitles. How lazy! At least make the voice overs in Chinese Mandarin. The lack of keybind customization is annoying, as is two sets of controls for two player on the keyboard. Lazy!
Visual upgrade from DW8XL is nice. I do enjoy this one overall. It does a terrible job explaining the gameplay. I was allowed to select objectives that i couldnt complete right from the start. It also indicates that it is Cloud Saving but it does not.
didn't like how the game doesn't work :/
