I really love this game I wish it had more of a following its probably the most fast paced of its series so far for some that could be a turn off

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

get on sale there's something that just isn't clicking with this game like dungeons 3 did.

It's pretty good. It'll never blow you away but I'm not hesitant to be positive. The game heavily leans on its charm, which makes up for the frankly unimpressive gameplay, but it is harmless fun to fill a dungeon with traps to super-murder any heroes that walk in, then pick one of three factions to murder the overworld. The game is streamlined compared to Dungeons 3, which is 'fine' but frankly Dungeons 3 was already so shallow that by now there's very little to differentiate levels besides which faction you pick (the old combo skills from 3 are gone, and while it's very possible to combine paths the fact that levels are tied to your faction means it's virtually always a lot slower to have two types of creatures compared to simply more of one. Demons and Horde are pretty fleshed out, but Undead is pretty barebones (no pun intended) - the core units are fine and different since the faction is fully expendable, but where Demons get mana and spells and Horde gets potions which are functionally spells Undead doesn't get a similar powerspike (and their upgrades are the most expensive so their numbers are lower). Still, with the talent system where you can pre-select three skills to buff yourself, it's usually possible to clear any level with any faction (and if it's not it's usually because the faction is just not included in the level due to the level's mechanics, not a lack of power). That's the base gameplay and it's fine. Beyond that I have little praise for the game.... I don't know if the developpers just don't have a budget, or they're deciding to phone things in, but everything about the game comes off as 'not trying very hard'. And I don't mean 'take it seriously' - the game and series leans heavily on detached humour from the narrator and fourth-wall breaks from Talia. But the jokes are... very reptitive. It's the same reactions, and the same beats, over and over again. Not once while beating every mission was I surprised at even a single line of dialogue. After a while, you can predict the moments the narrator complains about something and it just leaves no impression. I can't remember a single funny line, not necessarily because nothing was funny at all but because everything was so blandly formulaic it all runs together. And while I didn't have any expectations for the story (as mentioned, that's not really a thing in this series), the fact that this game recycles a LOT from Dungeons 3 beyond Talia (who is welcome) makes it lack any entertainment value whatsoever. The controls are no better. I don't expect Starcraft levels of RTS but the Overworld controls are pretty bad, made to control a blob and throw it roughly at the enemy (once you look up how to attack move - it's 'f' by default). Fortunately the units are designed with it in mind, with all abilities being autocast besides Talia. Basic loop is go out -> clear a point - > Teleport back with Talia's 'To the Dungeonheart!' to defend the counterattack -> repeat. On missions where Talia is absent the game gets very slow since without a quick way to return to the Dungeonheart committing stuff to the Overworld is much riskier. With Talia it's usually nothing to worry about, as like half the levels lack a loss condition outside the dungeon. I ran a few skirmish games where I stacked the demon mechanic to raise the usual max level and it doesn't take much setup to AFK entirely (and in that conext, please don't take my hours played as meaning much - the campaign is more a 5-15 hour affair depending on your difficulty and playstyle). For the base game it's fine. There's 15 missions or so and that does drag but it's not quite so long you get annoyed at it. The DLCs are generally rated low because that's where the reptition gets *really* stale. Wait for a sale, but it's a decent way to spend a couple of hours.
Better graphics, more interesting dungeon building, fixes some annoying design decisions from Dungeons 3. Nothing super revolutionary between Dungeons 3 to Dungeons 4, but if you liked Dungeons 3, This is more of what you want.
The amount of evilness gained is very punishing comparing to Dungeon 3, and quite limiting when it comes to unlock tech. In Dungeon 3, even if I unlock the wrong one, I can wait for a bit to gain passive evilness, however in dungeon 4, you have to go kill heroes. The most annoying part of the game is that the stone and dirty mined is tightly connected to dungeon progress - tightly connected to evilness - tightly connected to the unlock order. Meaning that if I HAVE TO put evilness into little snots, instead of other tech (for example, unlock mana first, or have better armor in orcs). It feels really restrictive in terms of design, and I much prefer dungeon 3.
This game is just fantastic. I love all the Dungeons games. The humour is perfect, graphics are nice and the gameplay is great. My only regret is that we don't have random maps to play if not in the campaign.
