Loved DD1 when I was fresh out of college, and this seems like a remake/revamp in a lot of ways. The only thing I would love to see is better split screen support. DD1 had up to 4 players. DDA only supports 2. And even if I bought another copy to play DDA on PS5 to try to GET TO 4 players (2 on PC, 2 on PS5), PS5 only supports single/online multiplayer. Couch gaming is not dead. I have a big family and we all love to game. This game could have been a huge hit for us, but we're limited by what seems like a simple addition. Shame.
Very Grindy but Relaxing and fun to play take your time with it and enjoy it one of the best Tower defense games out there.
0 soul compared to dungeon defenders 1
Dungeon Defenders was Trendy Entertainment's lightning in a bottle. Awakened is that same game updated with a new UI, several of the improvements developed through Dungeon Defenders 2 and Eternity, and several improvements. The good points: - They streamlined levelling drastically: On DunDef1, you levelled, more often than not by having the Squire or Apprentice solo every level on Medium and then levelled everyone else. On Awakened, you make your Hero Deck, and that deck is levelled. All of it. When you get around to needing one of the other characters for a particular task, they're already ready to go. - Everything can be done on the fly. With DunDef1, switching Heroes and equipment needed you to go back to the base to do it. With Awakened, it uses keybinds you're taught about in the tutorial. The bad points: - Over half of what's in Dungeon Defenders right now isn't in it. - The Transmog system doesn't explain to you clearly how to get most of the Crystal variants. - There's even less reason to use anyone other than a Squire or Apprentice for most of the game. - Dungeon Defenders, since 2022, has gone back into active development. Oh, it's not a bad game, per se, but it'll be a long time before it gets back what it was meant to be.
Absolut chaotisch.
Okay. At first I was like. Cool. A game remake of the first game right? But with extra abilities? The cannon balls actually have a bounce to them for some reason? Okay. I'll try it. Get in. See the characters are like cut into nothingness. The only good ones are the main two. Wizard and Knight and then EV. For actual dungeon defending I mean. The way it's MEANT to be done. With towers and big chillin. And I thought they'd have cosmetics you could unlock like the first game. Sort of. If by cosmetics you mean crap. Like a Diablo 3 style you unlocked a new transmog! type crap. I mean there are some good ideas here, but all around. This studio needs to kinda just die off now. That'd be for the best. That OR actually make a decent ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. They already did okay with the first one. The second one is a purchase everything hell nobody ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ asked for. Then they did the same to the first game. It's like people take their games. Turn them into ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Ask for a bunch of money. And sit pretty like the slobby little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pigs they are. I feel like I'd rather refund this and just play the second one. At least Dungeon Defenders 2 you can unlock the characters despite having to purchase literally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everything else. While in dd1 you had to purchase the characters, but the cosmetic items were originally free and unlockable from actually playing the game. Honestly. This company can't seem to make up their minds on how crap the already crap games should be. DD1 should've been left alone honestly. DD2 was made to test out new characters. So I'm hoping if there IS a third game eventually that it'll be the same as DD1 in it's online style where it's JUSt a tavern. And all cosmetics and characters can be unlocked through completing certain things like in Going Rogue and then cosmetics should be purchase OR earn. Like any true gamer already knows. The method is simple. You have the whales that purchase everything and feel nothing about playing the game and then people like me who would earn the rights to play and have everything in a game. I'm just saying. They are ALL out of wack on every turn. Each game. Every single one has so many flaws. I feel like I explained it good enough. If they ever do make another game and they take these small critical criticisms. Then it'll end up being one of the best DD games ever made.
