"When love dies, all that remains are the facts." Paradise Killer is an adventure game developed by Kaizen Game Works, published by Fellow Traveller. Story Paradise Killer is set in a pocket universe where group of immortal alien beings called the Syndicate attempts to reawaken ancient gods. For this goal they create Paradise Islands, where together with kidnapped humans from Earth living as citizens they experiment to achieve their goal. When island fails, humans are slaughtered and their souls are used to build new iternation, starting cycle anew. Game takes place on Paradise Island 24 where on the night of regular sacrifice, entire Syndicate Council is found dead, putting transfer to Island 25 on hold. You play as Lady Love Dies, Syndicate detective who has been in exile for 3 million days, now returning by permission to uncover the grand mystery behind a murder. Gameplay Open world with crime(s) to solve! As you can guess gameplay loop is set on discovering who is a titular paradise killer by exploring the island, finding evidence and clues to ultimately use them against suspects in final trial all played from first person perspective. After you drop out of the comfy jail high in the sky, you are free to roam Island 24. Exploration is name of the game as Lady Love Dies wastes no time to search every nook and cranny. Check out murder scenes, secret rooms, various landscapes or public places for anything that can lead you closer to truth. Interact often with Syndicate members in the area who will try to shift the blame, hide the facts or lead you astray, but with collected items you just may earn information you seek, building up to grand conviction of their innocence...or not. Outside of slowly piecing up the scheme surrounding the murder on top of other cases that pop up you can find additional side quests, conversations with friendly demon or various collectibles such as bottles of whisky and music tracks; some high on the rooftops, others deep underground. Prepare to jump, run or crouch, with occasional puzzle thrown into the mix. Every good investigator needs a partner. Cosmos Starlight is a handheld device which will aid you in cracking puzzles, sorting all the data you collected and keeping track of everything taking place on the island. To swiftly naviagate the area you can unlock fast travel points by using local currency- blood crystals! These may also aquire you a tasty beverage, skins for your starlight, or even upgrades to make exploration easier! Playtime, replayability It took me 10 hours to clear out entire island. Playtime is very flexible as you can beat game under 10 minutes or take a couple of hours, mostly depending on your desire to investigate and explore. This freedom gives a solid reasoning for second playthrough or at very least, return to original playthrough and squeeze of extra playtime out of it to find everything and make other choices. Impressions When I started the game I didn't knew what to expect from rather bizzare premise but now I can say with full confidence: Paradise Killer delivers on every front. It hooks from the start with strange setting and strong opening to further let you enjoy the game on your own terms thanks to given freedom of exploration with open-ended nature of investigations. You cannot lose even if you won't perform a single move outside of prologue, providing a very unique aspect of something that is (supposed to be) a detective game afterall. While investigating is vital to learn and allow to convict better in final trial, additionally they lead to deeper understanding of gathered information by a player about events of Island 24 and entire crazy lore surrounding Syndicate, ancient gods and demons. Thanks to various cast of characters scattered on the island, you will feel boredom, laughter, layers of unravelled mystery and that surprising touch of philosophical depth coming from human emotions expressed in demonic manner- all wrapped in one decent looking package! Along your journey you will be accompanied by fantastic citypop inspired soundtrack and entire island with various collectibles, side quests and just fun exploration makes those few hours you will spend on a game very enjoyable. It just may be one of the most unique detective games I had a pleasure to play considering you are not actually required to do any detective work, balancing that thin line between investigation and adventure. Great worldbuilding, fantastic characters, freedom of approach, dive into various topics, sweet soundtrack, this game truly has a feel of paradise mystery on otherwordly place that like a good vacation, doesn't require you to lift a finger if you don't fancy. Just ignore sacrifical temples and all the immortals that make you their cattle. A delight to play, I can safely recommend it! Final words and conclusion You can purchase artwork and soundtracks to further support developers! Paradise Killer is definitely not murdering quality of the game. Excellent, unique open-ended detective treat that I recommend highly! Feel free to check out my curator page for more reviews!

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I guess this one's just not for me. I've seen such rave reviews for Paradise Killer, but it feels like I've played a very different game. I found it extremely unengaging. Most of the gameplay is wandering around a bland 3D map littered with mostly unimportant items. Sometimes there's a puzzle, or an interesting clue, or an NPC to talk to, but mostly you're picking up random ♥♥♥♥ off the ground and reading vague flavour text. The writing didn't grab me, the music didn't move me, and I always felt like I was doing something wrong. The interesting stuff must be somewhere right? The game never led me to it. I like the 2D character art a lot though. This feels like the type of game where watching someone else play it might unlock it for me, but I'm going to drop it for now. Maybe some other time if I get on a visual novel kick I'll give it another shot.
I can't tolerate this game. I thought it was going to be a deep investigation and was willing to put up the appearance if it succeeded on that. It doesn't. The story is barely coherent, and every single character blathers on in these ridiculous performative ramblings that are intended to sound mysterious and cool but instead are just tedious and pointless, getting in the way of advance whatever plot points and character development there might be. It didn't take me long to realize this is also a collectathon, with the items being either currency used to unlock fast travel so you don't have to do the tedious wandering anymore or merely decorative items that serve no purpose. Tons of random "lore" items with single sentence descriptions attaching them to nothing and meaning nothing. It might actually be okay if every single item pickup wasn't such a big production. Like letting me hover of things and see the descriptions would give them the proper low-importance signaling they deserve. Also, if you're collecting items that allow you to skip environment navigation, that might be a clue that you've got a design flaw in your game. Just make the environments smaller in the first place. It's essentially visual novel with first-person parkour mixed in. The art style is a matter of personal preference. I do like retrowave and vaporwave styling and music, but this is sort of a hodgepodge rather than something coherent. The music ranged from okay to very good. But the character designs were annoying as hell, along with the actual characters. If you're put off by the art style like I was, don't try to convince yourself you can push through for the gameplay like I did, because it falls down there too.
In this game i discovered i'm not fit to be a detective in the real world not because i'm weak in logic but because i have emotions. It is an open world detective game and features in an island. You will traverse the whole island in order to solve a murder case. At first, i was expecting the game to be like phoenix wright or danganronpa but its more nearer to disco elysium. Dont get me wrong this is not a RPG. the main difference is the open ended nature of the narrative and the lack checkpoints and detailed maps and structures will make you force to truly understand the information that you were given and remember the places and name of the persons involved. You can start the game anytime you want and end it anytime you want. Game will not tell explicitly tell you if you got everything or not. Game will not also punished you if you blame the wrong person or not. This is your game and you just have to live whatever your decision to it. It got all of common features of detective game. A laptop that contain your notes about the person, statements, and evidences that you gather. Memorable and greatly written characters and a trusty old sidekick that will explain some things to you. Most of the cases doesn't have feature actual evidence and relies more on circumstantial evidence, so you are require to talk more frequently to people. As you started to unravel the truth bit by bit, the world started to open up more and more and you start to discover new things, evidences, and new path to your case. You will develop multiple paths to the truth and trying to weed out those paths and find the true path. Sounds like a typical detective or mystery game. but the thing is, i think most players missed this, is you have a choice if you're going to be an ideal detective or not. I chose the latter and let my emotions get to me. i deliberately let someone take the fall instead of the characters that i liked but guilty as well. Few games has feature like this and it is one of the best feature of this game. For the aesthetics and the world is bigger than i expected, it features a small town, mountains, beaches and factories. Evidences and people are everywhere. Even the collectibles. The collectibles are truly optional but every collectible that you collect features information about the world that you're traversing. One of the highlights of this game is the music, The Vaporwave infused soundtrack make you desensitized to f up world and case that you're working on. As one of the characteristics of vaporwave music, it makes you sentimental and makes you familiar to things even though you never actually experienced it. I never expect to be grooving while making blood sacrifices and having conversation to the people involved on how gruesome the crime is. Voice acting is incredible done well too. Downside, it can get quite slow at first since, the world is totally new, you need to discover more about the world and also the collectibles. if you want to get the perfect achievement for this, you need to tally collect stuff scattered around the world ubisoft style. It's a lot and some of them requires platforming. Final words. This game has a lot of twists and turns and so many storylines to explore or not if you choose not to. This is one of the few games, i really feel that i'm an actual detective, you only have your notes and youre the one needed to figure out the connections of this in the case or events. Memorable characters, the open world is really great coming from an indie devs (don't expect AAA type of open world) and a refreshing take to the detective genre of games. Some people treats this as another phoenix wright/danganronpa games, you will be disappointed if you expect the game to be that kind. I'm having a hard time coimparing this game to another. i believe what kaisen game works created is truly one of a kind and exceptional. You have gained a new fan and will buy and play Promise Mascot Agency and look forward to your future projects. I am bit surprised that i didn't see this game in most yt videos for the top indie games of 2020 Truly underrated gem. A must have for adventure loving gamers.
If I could pick Mixed, I would.
This game is not bad; interesting world, intriguing setup and worldbuilding, decent exploration experience, mostly well-done mystery/evidence mechanics, somewhat interesting characters, nice art and music, etc. It just doesn't come together for me; the experience felt like I had parts of something, but the pieces do not fit well enough to make a complete whole. I understood the cases, (100%ed evidence I think), it just seemed like the gameplay and collect-a-thon content didn't mesh well with how things were presented to make it feel worthwhile to engage with. It was going for a vibe, and sometimes it reached it, other times it felt off.
First thing first this game plays more like a collectathon more than anything else so keep that in mind when you buy it. Other than that if you like Danganronpa and wanted more of an open world experience and more of the exploration/clue collecting phase then this game is exactly that. The map design is great and overall really fun to explore and collect random stuff as you uncover more clues.
Une seule enquête. Trop longue. Trop de collectibles inutiles. Trop flashy. Trop d’exploration, trop open world. Bon niveau d’anglais indispensable.
Good exploration and story game, not much detective work need to be done. 6.7/10
An open world investigation game with an absolutely stellar soundtrack. Play as Lady Love Dies, an investigator in a world of ageless beings, gods, and demons, investigating the murder of The Council which rules the island. Look into members of The Syndicate, a ruling organization in this reality outside of our own, searching for clues and evidence as to whom is guilty of the different parts of the crime, and the conspiracy going on behind the scenes. Explore a 3D open world of different city districts, checking out apartments, housing, warehouses, docks, a power plant, a prison, a military barracks, the courthouse, a religious ziggurat, a dead zone corrupted by demons, sewers and waterways, and more in your search for clues. There are a handful of people around the island you can talk to, questioning them in the hopes of more information, details on other residents, and looking into their alibis. Unlocking new information related to the case will add it into your notes, adding an exclamation mark next to a person's portrait should they have new talking points for you to look into. Bits of physical evidence will be scattered around the map, so be sure to check every nook and cranny to be sure you've built a good case, knowing who to accuse when performing the trials. There are numerous collectables to find around the map: more songs to add to your playlist, talks with the demon Shinji, beverages and AI fragments from vending machines, whiskey bottles for views into the future, crests to unlock blood crystals, blood crystals themselves that act as this world's currency, skins for your laptop Starlight, bits of religious iconography, and more. Relationships can be improved with every character on the island through hanging out, giving you the opportunity to get more information out of them or a relic item that act as simple collectables. Upgrades for your laptop can be obtained, giving you additional symbol categories to hack into different buildings and areas around the map, usually leading to some solid evidence or information for your case. Using footbaths will give you ability upgrades at the cost of five blood crystals, giving you a double jump, a dash, plus the ability to meditate and see the different collectables around the map, showing up as hearts in your vision. Visually, I dig the art style going on for all the various characters and the use of colour going on. There is an excellent sort of vaporwave style vibe to some portions of the level design that I really vibe with. Musically, Paradise Killer is knocking it out of the park, having an amazing soundtrack that I'm looking forward to picking up on vinyl. A mix of funky city pop / vaporwave tunes from the mind of Barry 'Epoch' Topping. This soundtrack absolutely slaps, being a major selling point for the game. Overall, I had a much better time than I was expecting with Paradise Killer, enjoying the mystery of who killed The Council and really being drawn in by an amazing soundtrack. I'd recommend this one to fans of investigative mystery games and city pop / vaporwave.
