An excellent Beat'Em Up RPG hybrid and an early entry into the Action RPG Sub-Genre, the wonderful music and beautiful sprite-work make this a feast for the eyes and ears. It makes you wonder why there aren't more like it and what would've happened if more games followed it's lead when it came out
It's emulated, and poorly.
Good JRPG from the 16 bits era. The main difficulty is to find your path on the giant 3d map without any real mark to help you. A sound latency might happen after playing for a while or if you alt tab to much.
Drakkhen's much more fun sequel. Throw boomerangs at toads for fun and profit.
Dragonview is an early ’90s RPG that still manages to feel surprisingly fresh and fun. I came away really impressed with how well it holds up, especially considering its era. It blends traditional RPG elements with action-heavy combat that feels a lot like Golden Axe, giving battles a satisfying, hands-on feel instead of the usual turn-based approach. Exploration and progression are engaging, and the overall experience just clicks in a way you might not expect from a game this old. What really helps is how easy it is to pick up and play in short bursts. With save states, it’s perfect for squeezing in sessions between other things, making it a great “in-between” game without losing momentum. It’s got that classic charm, but also enough unique flavor to stand out. A genuinely fun and underrated RPG worth revisiting.
Good game, but the overworld map in 3D is something that really bothers me.
A classic and old favorite. Loved the arcade beat-em-up style combat with an RPG progression system. Loved seeing the weapons and armor grow, aesthetically and with power. Navigating a 3D open world was fresh and different. Figuring out where to go or what to do next can be quite difficult at a few moments. But the world isn't too big and there's always someone who will set you on the right path. Be prepared for an tough end game. Grinding up isn't too bad in the final areas to face it confidently. Yeah I could have emulated this, but I like to see it and compare it to the other games in my digital library.
Emulated game. This is tied to nostalgia and video game sessions with my brother back in the 90's. Uses the same 3D map system as drakkhen, but everything else has been improved from combat to instance exploration. Some nitpicks here and there, but solid piece of history.
played the original game instead of the steam port, thus the fairly low play times here. but i unironically believe this is one of the best games on the snes
