One of the most underrated SNES RPGs. The story and dialog is simple and goofy as hell, but the game is very atmospheric and the combat is like a fun beat 'em up. Definitely not a top tier JRPG, but it's a perfect, simple JRPG to just sit back and turn your brain off to.

Dragonview is an ARPG that I actually hadn't heard of before seeing it here on Steam. Overall it is a fairly poor offering, but I did at least enjoy it enough to keep playing until the end. The game world is robust, including many well populated towns, dungeons, optional and secret locations. The story is likewise given a fair amount of focus, and while it is not anything out of the ordinary, it is well done and will hold your attention. The gameplay offers a wide variety of enemies to face, and the dungeons are filled with hazards and traps. Normal enemies are not extremely difficult, but you may regret it if you take them too lightly. Bosses can be very challenging at the start of the game, but their difficulty gets erratic later on. I played a level where I had to struggle against the normal enemies, only to knock out the boss easily and without taking damage. The damage mechanic is a simple ATK-DEF, so if your defense is higher than the enemy attack, they will be almost completely ineffective against you... this includes bosses. Another unfortunate fact that exacerbates this is that it is very easy to over-level just in the normal course of exploring the world. Who wants to fight bosses that can't even hurt you? The level design gets repetitive, as annoyingly the levels all contain area loops. By this I mean you go in a circle, end up where you started, and the door locks behind you. The idea being to find the correct branch in the path that leads further in. It gets old fast. I prefer dungeons that reward exploration, but there is little of that. Overall? You'd be safe enough giving this one a pass. I gave it a positive review only based on the first two hours of gameplay, and am now regretting it. I don't say it deserves a negative review, but I would prefer something like a neutral review.

many will say this is "just a ROM". Yes it is, but the key argument of emulation is it lets us play games we cannot buy anymore . Dragon view is one of the rarest and most expensive SNES titles and the fact it's available here is stunning. You should buy this if anything to show [ublisherswe just want to be able to buy these old games. I bought it and am glad I did. The game is a quasi sequel to Drakkhen and is a fantastic and unique action RPG.

An excellent Beat'Em Up RPG hybrid and an early entry into the Action RPG Sub-Genre, the wonderful music and beautiful sprite-work make this a feast for the eyes and ears. It makes you wonder why there aren't more like it and what would've happened if more games followed it's lead when it came out
