Pretty hard but not boring at all.
amazing combat skill but a bit boring at early game
Replaying after the DD2 DLC announcement, and man this game is so much fun 😂😂😂 It is technically a Dark Fantasy, even the average color tone is Dark, but you can also do fun things like parrying a Goblin into the air to rain Lightning Bolts on it. The Monster Part-Breaking type system is really fun, the story progress-based world changing (including closing old questlines and opening new ones) is fun, getting stronger does really feel impactful, and I personally really love the story and the lore of this game. Not sure what else to mention here, since I can't really pinpoint who exactly would love this game, or how I would rate it (as in whatever the game is, I really love playing it, so I would just end up giving it 10/10). I just know that lot of people who love this game, REALLY love it. Pretty underrated game imo.
One of my favorite games. It helps scratch the itch of wanting to play open world games like skyrim. Plus I love taking the companions on a journey. A well put together team makes it a blast, literally. Just wish someone would rate my companion. She is a baddie and I have yet to see her be appreciated. 10/10
Complete dragons dogma experience, HIGHLY recommended especially if you can get it on sale for $5. You literally cannot go wrong.
Other than the weird parts, the game is pretty good. + Amazing combat, coordinating attacks against both mobs and giant enemies is just pure fun. The skills you get also get really bonkers, and it is very interactive with the environments. Using ricocheting arrows in a tight narrow hallway is criminally fun. + At a glance the open world map feels small, but it is densely packed with stuff to discover. No two dungeons feel the same and the terrains are varied too. Exploration just feels good. + As an open world game it's also not the kind where you can just bumrush through the game blind, e.g. if you go out at night you can't see jack, and enemies spawn more often to gank you. You gotta stock up on supplies like lanterns. Foodstuff can spoil. It is, dare I say, immersive... And on to the weird parts: - The game ends really abruptly. This is like 10% actual story and 90% unrelated fetch quests. I understood the main conflict that's going on and the characters' motives, but it was just such an abrupt end that you'll definitely go "...that's it?" - They often say the postgame is where the game actually starts, but personally it is just bleh. You now have a dark, drab yellow skybox going on all the time you can barely tell daytime from nighttime. There are new enemies (mostly repaints) and stuff to find in the open world, but the world looks so ugly that it's really hard to bother doing that. Overall, I recommend it solely for that open world and combat experience. But I'm at an impasse in the postgame; people say the BBI expansion is the amazing part, but it apparently also requires grinding some levels before going in, which is a big turnoff to do with the only options being an open world turned ugly and a repetitive dungeon loop in the form of Everfall. 7/10.
