[h1]Peak Action Combat Game with optional Coop[/h1]
This game is peak EDF (it doesn't have the technical issues and EGS ties that EDF 6 has) and it's just a fun way to spend time, especially with friends, which you can still do btw, via online coop, splitscreen or Remote Play Together.
For those who aren't familiar with this franchise, it's a game about fighting aliens, giant monsters, and giant bugs which are invading the Earth in a way that feels a lot like a fun 1950s era B-movie.

I've seen people compare this to [i]Starship Troopers[/i] but unlike that franchise, this isn't about being a Space Fascist; you are just defending your home planet from evil aggressors. (EDF 6 kind of messes that up but you don't need to think about that if you play this game.)
[h1]Easy to get into[/h1]
This is one of the easiest games to get into. There are lots of difficulty settings so it's easy to find one that suits you and every unlocked mission is repeatable.
The controls are also pretty straightforward and the game plays well with either a controller or a keyboard and mouse).
[h1]Lots of options and depth[/h1]
You have a lot of classes to choose from including a fast moving jetpack Wingdiver with energy weapons, a modern warfare soldier, a power armor soldier, a guy who calls in airstrikes and vehicle drops, etc.

My bro and I play this completely differently but we both have fun. You really can have it your way and it's fun to experiment.
[h1]Upgrades and Unlocks[/h1]
In this game, you can permanently unlock new weapons and upgrade your armour by picking up crates that are dropped by by defeated enemies.

This means that you never feel like you are grinding for cash (there is no money in this game) you spend zero time thinking about managing inventory, and you unlock more and better options for equipping your characters the longer you play.
The fact that you can also repeat any mission that you've already done makes this very user-friendly since you can always get more stuff if you want to or retry missions on higher difficulty or with different gear.
[h1]Conclusion[/h1]
This is a good game and if you get it on sale (which at the time of writing it is) it's also a good deal. Like [i]Resident Evil 5[/i] and my other favorites, it's good, clean fun.
P.S.
Also, this game is MUCH more fun than [i]Helldivers, Darktide,/i] and the rest of the live-service blight that currently makes up so much of the available market in coop games. In fact, unlike those games, it runs offline with full prgression and it's actually fun to play it that way.
