We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

옛날 드퀘3을 리마스터 같은 리메이크 하긴 했는데 은은하게 나는 똥내가 꽤 미식임
SO SO SOOOOO disappointed with how easy the "hardest" difficulty is... with no prep. the hero can solo the whole game. :(( please make retro games have the reason we like retro games. they updated all the graphics and took away all the challenge
老游戏还得是hd2d的画面玩着才舒服。游戏本体算是量大管饱,但毕竟是老游戏了,而且还是DQ,肝度高还是在所难免的。

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 3: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Outstanding traditional JRPG. Excellent entry point into the Dragon Quest franchise for anyone curious. I really hope they do Dragon Quest V in this style sooner rather than later.
Very much a neat little bit of story telling with solid RPG game play. I have mad respect for Dragon Quests story telling in general, and to see its always been there is something special. I can't say I loved it too much, but for its time as a honest retelling, great stuff with some "better know your stuff" boss design. I do wish the class system was a bit more exciting and doable, but aa well.
I was genuinely confused when I booted this up. For the longest time I wondered why Square Enix dropped Dragon Quest III first and then went back to do the HD-2D remakes of I and II. After playing it, I totally get it. Without spoiling anything, I’d actually recommend playing this one first too. That said, the game starts off painfully generic. You’re sent on a classic “go fight evil” quest, then immediately visit the world’s most awkward party planning agency to recruit three blank-slate companions. You can customize their jobs, outfits, and personalities all you want, but good luck getting attached. These characters have less backstory than a Walmart mannequin. I’m old-fashioned — I like my party members to have actual personalities, not just a customizable wig and a dream. Story-wise the companions are pretty weak, but the job system and customization do add some nice RPG depth. The enemy designs are classic Dragon Quest levels of charming and ridiculous, and the music is, as always, an absolute banger. For the first 20 hours I was basically just going through the motions. Then the game suddenly wakes up, slaps me across the face with a difficulty spike, and finally gets really good once you survive the hump. It’s like the developers said, “Okay, now the fun starts… but first, suffer.” My biggest gripe is the post-game. Why do Dragon Quest games insist on turning the after-credits content into a brutal, soul-crushing marathon? Instead of rewarding you with more fun, they make you want to track down the developers and “politely” ask for your time back. Overall the game felt like two big valleys with one glorious peak in the middle. Beautiful presentation, killer music, and strong gameplay… held back by a slow start and some very questionable design choices. Final Score: 6/10 I know I’m going to catch flak for this (it’s a legendary game, after all), but I stand by it. Great foundation, just needed a bit more personality and less post-game punishment.
Love this game! Not too grindy, story aged well but tbh is quite straightforward. Leaves enough room for party experimentation and reclassing. Delicious 2.5D pixel art and has all the charm to expect from a Dragonquest game. A fun gameplay first JRPG.
