NEGATIVES - Writing: All the dialogue is either bland, stupid, or cringey. There are (too frequent) attempts at humor, but I don't remember finding a single thing funny. - Characters: Each character is one-dimensional. The writers chose *one* trait for each character and repeated it endlessly. - Tone: The tone is bizarre. I'm not sure whether I'm supposed to take things seriously or not. The companions feel like caricatures, and their frequent "humorous" remarks undercut any serious moments. - Art: The cartoony art style makes it even harder to take things seriously - Personality: For the most part, your dialogue choices don't matter. You can be supportive, flippant, or serious, but everyone reacts the same no matter what you say. POSITIVES - Combat: This was the only thing that kept me playing. I played as a mage, and I thought that the combat was just the right mix of frantic button mashing and strategic planning. - Boss fights: These were the highlights of the game. Some of the bosses are a little spongey, but when your character gets to the highest levels the boss fights become more manageable. - Character quests: Unlike other Bioware games, where you pretty much have to do just one character-specific mission to earn their "loyalty", each character in Veilguard makes you go through about 6 missions to complete their story lines. It adds some stakes and some variety, forcing me to go on missions with characters that I ordinarily wouldn't. In all, it's an acceptable game. It just pales in comparison to other Bioware games. I would only recommend it to someone who just absolutely needed closure to Solas' story after Dragon Age Inquisition.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 29: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Aaaa i dont really know how to say this other then as plainly as i can. I bought the game on discount, went in with an open mind as one can. Sure they scrambled the lore to make it work The whole LGBTQ thing is annoying mainly cause - sure add a non-binary character if you wish but at least make it good. Taash i wanted to punch in the face first 5 minutes after i had been forced to recruite her. She is simply a whiny selfinsert of someone who thinks the patriarchy is the biggest threat to the universe. The character is written poorly, Extremely poorly. Her entire personality is that she is a ♥♥♥♥♥ and they/them and then get pissy about everything else around her. Then u got the vegan necromancer. Like.. what? But if that wasnt realistic enough then u got the italian assassin who doesnt ever ♥♥♥♥♥♥ flirt himself but apparently my main character pulling 0 charisma oneliners back to back and getting a "aha ok" level of response is a "relationship" according to the game. Bioware used to be known for the RPG stuff, companions, story, all of it. It feels like Dragon Age from Temu. Replay value : zero Combat : fun for the first 15 hours then it gets repetative. Only thing keeping bosses alive for longer than 10 seconds is their stupid immunity mechanics. Lore: forgiveable at least they tried Writing: absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Play the game through once if you are a fan of the series just to tie it off, but dont buy it unless its on 75%. Mainly it just pisses me off that they butchered a good thing and then bought reviews to try to pretend its not ♥♥♥♥. U cant piss in a bowl and pretend its soup. 5/10
A very sad and unsatisfying death for such a great franchise. All the depth of worldbuilding and interesting ideas from the previous games has been completely stripped away and replaced with oversaturated cartoonish graphics and modern agenda. The characters are mostly flat, their personal conflicts (with one or two exceptions) are unengaging, and the interactions between characters feel superficial. Romance line feels castrated, squeezed into the tight confines of short quests, and not worth the time or expectations at all. Personally, I think the ending of this story is better told in the artbook than in the game itself. The game isn't worth the attention of either fans or new players who will have no idea what, why, or wherefore is happening.
I waited for this conclusion for ten years. It broke my soul. This game was not what it could and should have been. For me anyhow.
It is pretty sad that the series that started with Origins ended with this :/
I went into this game pretty skeptical because of all the negative comments I had seen. But when I started reading what people were actually criticizing, I realized that a lot of it was about how focused the game is on companions and relationships. And honestly, that was something I wanted after DAI, where I felt the relationships were a bit too blunt for me. Once I started playing, I was immediately hooked. Playing DAI first also made DAV much more emotional for me because I already had a connection to the characters and the world. I played it for hours every day because I genuinely needed to know what happened next. I loved the romance, the combat, exploring the world, the companions, and honestly just the game as a whole. By the end, I realized just how attached I had gotten to this game and its characters. For me, DAV was simply an amazing experience and the best RPG I’ve played. I’m really glad I gave it a chance.
Look, it's not a bad game, okay? It suffered due to all the nonsense, the combat is more God of War than the classic we are used to, I'm sad about the lack of tie-ins from the previous games and some parts seem more like first drafts than a finished game, but overall it's fun, it made me laugh and cry and want to play it again (and I did). My first impressions after finishing it were "Gods, it wasn't as horrible as people said it would be, I am so relieved", then I had an era of complaints about everything that's wrong and now I have accepted it as a worse Dragon Age game, but a great game on its own.
Blabla. Show, dont Tell geht anders.
Having played the other Dragon Age games, this was a real disappointment. Good: - The gameplay is pretty good if you're looking for an action game. - The skill trees mean that you actually feel the progression and get to lean different combos and styles over time. - Being able to respec abilities without having to go to a trainer or buy a talent reset is great, but it would have been better if you could have it memorize certain presets. Bad: - It's nothing like the party-based games that all the previous games in the series were shaped around. - Your companions are mostly present so that they can either A) heal you or B) set you up with "primers" and "detonations" every 30 - 45 seconds. - The story writing is awful. You don't have any really significant choices. Solas justification for tearing down the veil seems well founded based on the plot and evidence from Inquisition, but Veilguard pretty much ignores all of that.
It would have made much more sense for you to have an option at the end to A) tear down the veil, B) have spent effort to find an alternative, or C) bind Solas to the veil (as is currently your only option.
- The dialog is atrocious. You've got a choice between the "getting along", "joking", and "brash" dialog choices. All of the joking options make you sound like bad marvel dialog. - The game is tagged LGBTQ+, but if that was actual goal then they utterly failed. They picked your companion Taash as a token non-binary character but made them rude, socially awkward, and generally unlikable. That doesn't really change even after you finish the whole line of Taash's companion quests. If this was genuinely an attempt at representation then it completely failed. - The companion characters all feel hollow and like they don't actually bring much benefit as a companion. There isn't anything you can do to significantly degrade your relationship with them, cause them to leave, or even avoid recruiting them in the first place. The romance is likewise pretty empty. - A lot of the cutscenes make little to no physical sense. Characters will end up in places or wholly new locations without any sense of how they got there or explaining how they got out of a situation. - The art style is very cartooney. All of the darkspawn look like caricatures of themselves. - Harder modes aren't more challenging by nature of enemies being smarter or using new abilities. They're mostly just tougher and you've got smaller reaction windows. It's harder, but not in a satisfying way. - A more minor nitpick, but ranged parries are extremely unreliable. When you try to parry your character does a sort of duck kind of animation and sometimes that causes the attack to just miss your character even if you previously were warned it would hit you. This especially happens if you're not at the same vertical height as your attacker or their attack makes any kind of significant arc or travel.
