It's hard to review this game. I enjoyed it, and it saddens me to see all the hate thrown its way. Yes, the combat isn't what it was before. Yes, it's janky and clearly missing content. You can mostly skip the combat by setting it to super easy/setting it so you can't take damage, but it's hard not to notice all the ways in which the team needed more time and money. There's no character who stood out quite like Constantin did (and oh, did I dearly wish for a cameo!) but I don't regret the time I spent with the game. Knowing what the studio went through, I understand why things are as limited as they are. Spiders Studio wasn't perfect, but they delivered budget Bioware games in a time when party-based RPGs still aren't as popular as I would like them to be. That said, the devs themselves said they don't want anyone to buy the game. The devs get no money from it, and they were treated quite badly by the publisher who essentially forced them to shut down.

30% + Great graphics in both characters and the world + In-depth character creator + Traversal is improved from GreedFall 1 - The colonialism story is extremely bland and watered down - Quests are uninteresting, oddly paced and often menial - Combat is strange, a weird in-between of turn-based and real-time that doesn't work - Characters are forgettable - Animations are not to standard with modern-day RPGs
If you liked the original one, you'll like this one too - combat is a bit of a downgrade but it's fine. So unfortunate that this IP will now be stuck in courts and we wont be seeing Greedfall 3 for a long time...if ever unfortunately. This game deserved more than it got, and Spiders studio being shut down is total bs.
The game is a downgrade from the first Greedfall. Combat system and combat itself is worse.A big part of the story feels forced, while many of the quests are handheld to oblivion. And sometimes textures don't load properly. Icing on the cake was a bug on a quest that locked me in a map with no way forward. Didn't manage to finish the game
A nice A/AA game. The combat system has changed from Greedfall (1), which annoys many. Also, the company's closure and the publisher's handling of this have angered some. Disregarding these two issues, there is a pretty good game here, I think. Recommended for all who thought the original Greedfall was OK/Good. Maybe not recommended for others. Positives:

Great areas to explore, mostly consisting of cities and their immediate surroundings. They are very detailed and have a good feel to them.
OK story. Good optional quests.
Quite good companions.
Good character creation, leveling up, skills, etc.
Gear is varied enough to stay interesting for most of the game.
The "hub" for travel and companion meetings is nice.
Performance is solid and the graphics are nice.
Good length and with a lot of content for a game of this type.
Negatives:

Having to CONSTANTLY hold the right mouse button in order to turn the camera while walking around is very annoying at first, but I got used to it after a few days. However, making this mandatory is an extremely stupid decision.
I encountered 2-3 serious bugs, but there were workarounds for them all easily found online and in the forums here.
One companion has no companion quests, which is weird.
Parts of the story are not very interesting.
Inventory sorting does not work very well, but is "nearly correct" most of the time, except for the currently equipped stuff.
You can't really "upgrade" your gear, just place improvements in its 0-2 "slots". So if you find a "Legendary" item of "Tier III", it will be worse than a "common" item of tier XII, and there is no way to improve it. Not that big of a deal I guess, but annoying sometimes.
Stealth is "broken", as people would say, and is often way too easy. Guards won't spot an assassination 10m in front of them or hear one 1m behind them. And that's not even when you maximize your stealth skill, but from the beginning. However, not much of the big impactful fights/stuff is skippable due to stealthing, and it's not a problem that it's too powerful.
Load times are a little high, especially when save-scumming in the same area. I can accept that area transitions require loading a lot of new assets, but reloading the same area could maybe be a bit quicker.
Low enemy variety. The bosses are cool, but fighting the same 3-5 beast types or bandits gets old really fast.
The combat in this game is a horrible unplayable mess its not enjoyable.
I can't make heads or tails of this game. I played its predecessor several times start to finish, but this is weirdly different. The fighting is really strange, now fully controlled via quickbar items like an MMO. No dodging, no direct control. The skill trees are bonkas. It's not fun and you can set yourself as being immortal, making the experience worse. The map design is great and sometimes straight up gorgeous but doesn't fit the mechanics the game actually gives you. Particularly if you managed to make it out of the insanely long prologue area, you are greeted with an amazing map only to realize you still can't jump, get stuck at every corner, and mostly try to figure out how to get to a place by walking. I feel like the maps are made for a modern action rpg with jumping, climbing, balancing, but the character team didn't go along with that idea. The acting seems okay. There is decidedly too much non-english dialogs. It's refreshing at first but gets old real fast. If you disable subtitles, you are boned when talking to fellow natives outside the starter area. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this as is (or ever will be).
Reminds me a lot of Dragon Age Origins. I had some issues with textures and models loading slowly but didn't really encounter other bugs. Writing was a bit weak at some points but all in all it's a solid RPG. Shame the developer was closed down. 4/5
If you liked the first game, you will like this even more. Nice and simple and fun.
