Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

TLDR pro's: solid story and gameplay and lots of choices to make that actually influence how the story progresses. musthave for oldskool dark fantasy rpg lovers. who like fire tornadoes? cons: combat's a little stiff but not to bad. the game needs mods to run stabily on modern hardware because of a memory leakage issue (install DAO 4gb mod to fix memory leak issue). FULL REVIEW after all these years, here we are again playing dragon age: origins. i played this game to death back in the day on my ps3. dragon age as a whole used to be my favourite franchise, until the absolutly horrifying creation called Veilguard released and absolutely destroyed my most favourite fantasy world ever concieved... i had an itch to play it again because i was playing ARPG's for the last few years and i wanted something different. a game that made me sit down and look at a situation and analyzing it before before committing. player this game definitly shows its age but overal it holds up pretty wel because of the artstyle. it gives the game a charm you won't find almost anywhere else. once i started i was immediatly sucked into the world again. the combat is a little meh, but i gotta say i do like blasting groups of enemies with fire tornadoes/balls, blizzards and electrical storms and just see carnage unfold. the story and how your choices influence it is some of the best the industry has to offer, but in my opinion the best i ever played. the lore surrounding the world and its deep and intricate history for those who really explored and found is very rewarding and just something that tickles my brain in all the right ways. story with a deep history and the narrative slowly building around that mistery. overall starting this gem again was the best decision i made in awhile and i recommend anyone who likes oldskool slower paced rpgs to try it out. if you didn't already. as for a few cons, the game struggles to run of some modern hardware setups leading to crashes during gameplay or startup. there are various mods that fix some of these issues, and many are user friendly with an exstensive explaination on how use them. that or its just unpack files -> copy to this folder. also as i didn't have any crashes during startup but i did have many during gameplay and did some investigating and found the biggest issue to be a memory leak that occurs when playing for longer periods of time. this is easily fixable by enabling the 4GB mod, allowing the game to use 4gb of ram instead of the standard 2(this mod is a must have when using mods that enhance gameplay and especially modded skills and skilltrees). this fixed the issue for me entirely but i see others who have improved performance. but when the memory leak again catches up, the game will crash. at least this time you will see it coming as you will see your frames drop significantly. overall a solid experience and how i wish EA didn't destoy this franchise by gutting bioware and make their key staff, leave...
Dragon Age: Origins.
I wanted to recommend it so badly but unfortunately I can't. The game is good, you can see it's way ahead of it's time, gameplay can feel a bit tacky sometimes because it's a bit old, but I loved the opening sequences, I loved the first hours, the writing, the characters, the potential is real. Unfortunately the recurring crashes were too present and it became frustrating to replay the same scenes and fights over and over again. I had to quicksave every minute to make sure I could continue a bit each time and I tried for hours, but then it became unplayable in the area near the werewolves lair for me. Every door/stairs/loading screen was making me crash. I can't recommand the window vers of this game, but it was still a great experience.
I’m really disappointed with the stability of Dragon Age: Origins on Windows. Even after following all the recommendations from the “How to Fix Dragon Age: Origins (Ultimate Fix Guide)” chatroom, the game still crashes during scene transitions. After about two hours of actual gameplay (not counting all the reloads), I ended up giving up entirely. It’s frustrating to replay the same moments over and over again, trying different settings in the hope that this old game will finally run properly. What’s unfortunate is that the game itself is genuinely worth playing. The dialogues, the story, and especially the opening sequences are excellent. There’s real potential here, and I’d gladly invest time into fixing the issues if the game were at least stable enough to let me progress. Unfortunately, because of these recurring crashes, I can’t recommend the Windows version of this game. The stability issues overshadow an otherwise great experience.
My actual play time is more close to 80 hours. Some games really do pull you in so deeply that you start forgiving the quirks that typically come with older games. Things like frequent crashes, dated mechanics, and broken systems the industry solved long ago. Most games would lose me after a few crashes, but Dragon Age: Origins was different. It fought me every step of the way, yet every time it crashed I'd always boot it up again and come back for one more hour. Granted, the rough edges never disappeared. Ferelden is just a really hard place to leave it has a way of pulling you back in, always pushing you to see what happens next. Eventually, the crashes stopped being the story, and the journey became the only thing that mattered. What is Dragon Age: Origins? Dragon Age: Origins is an RPG developed by BioWare and released in 2009. When most people talk about Dragon Age, they call it "fantasy Mass Effect," but I've always thought that undersells it. It's certainly dated by today's standards, but its world-building and narrative design - especially the way choices actually matter - are some of the best BioWare has ever delivered. I like to think of it as the Baldur's Gate of its time, carrying forward that older style of RPG design while still feeling unique in its own right. The Story How your story begins is up to you. Dragon Age: Origins gives the player agency by letting you choose between different races and classes, shaping how you experience the world from the very start. The world of Ferelden, and your perspective of it, is shaped by your origin, leading you into the larger story. Whether you begin as a Human, Elf, Dwarf, or Mage, and no matter how you view the world, you'll eventually be recruited by the Grey Wardens - a legendary order of warriors with only one purpose: to stop the Blight, an apocalyptic event that happens every few hundred years where demon-like creatures called Darkspawn overrun the world. From there, you join their ranks and take on the weight of that responsibility as you prepare to face the coming war. During the opening Battle of Ostagar and the near destruction of the Grey Wardens, the player becomes one of the two survivors left to stop the Blight from overrunning all of Ferelden. You'll go on a journey across the world that involves recruiting an amazing cast of companions, forming relationships, and making choices that shape the world and the people around you. The Good The story and relationships you form along the way are the heart of the game. Every conversation leaves you wanting more, and not just the main quest. I found myself engaging in almost every side quest and striking up conversations with just about everyone I met. If you ever find yourself weary from your travels, you can always return to camp to chat with your crew about your recent exploits. Your companions always seem to know where you are in the story and what you've accomplished, reacting accordingly to everything you do - sometimes amusingly so. This all leads to strong bonds or bitter rivalries with your companions, making them feel like real people instead of party members. Throughout the whole ordeal you'll get plenty of roleplaying opportunities and make meaningful decisions that genuinely test your morality. Even the smallest dialogue choices have identity and tone rather than being boiled down to simple good versus evil. The game quickly proves that it's a masterclass in storytelling, and even today, few titles rival it. Constantly talking to and getting to know companions such as Alistair, the fellow Grey Warden and lovable himbo, Morrigan, the Witch of the Wilds who always seems eager to do something cheeky and evil, a loyal mabari war hound you can name yourself, and Sten, the confused murdering guy I saved against everyone's objections, made every step of the journey feel worthwhile. These relationships, and the bonds you form with them, help cement the world of Ferelden and make you feel like you're truly a part of it. It's a world you can genuinely immerse yourself in. You can almost feel it breathe, and it's a pretty astonishing thing to watch it change because of the choices you made. Before long, Ferelden stops feeling like a setting and starts feeling like a place you belong. This is Dragon Age: Origins at its very best. Gameplay Dragon Age: Origins has a rather traditional gameplay style, similar to many classic RPGs. Players have the choice between Warrior, Rogue, and Mage, with specializations that further shape the build and playstyle of their character. Combat unfolds in real time, but can also be paused, giving you the ability to command your companions and approach encounters with a bit more strategy. The overall gameplay loop feels much closer to an older MMO than a modern action RPG. You even have action bars, and your party resembles the classic MMO setup where the goal was to create a balanced group of tank, healer, and DPS. Where you fit into that dynamic is completely up to you, allowing each player to approach combat in their own way. Character progression can be boiled down to acquiring talents, spells, and gear, while companions use an approval system based on your actions in the world and how you treat them. Much of the game's identity comes from its commitment to player choice. From how you build your character, how you approach combat, and how you shape the world of Ferelden, the experience is entirely up to you. The game encourages experimentation and makes it clear there is no single "right" way to play. Every decision, big or small, helps create your version of the story. Whether you become a hero, a villain, or something in between, Dragon Age: Origins gives you the freedom to look back at your journey and know that it was uniquely yours. The Bad Dragon Age: Origins is unfortunately a difficult game to revisit from a technical standpoint. I've tried both the Steam version and the EA App version, and both fought me every step of the way. The game suffers from a notorious memory leak that often requires a community-made fix just to make it stable enough to play. Even then, issues can still appear. Crashes, missing textures, and corrupted saves can become a constant threat, making one piece of advice more important than anything else: save often. Graphically, the game has aged better than expected, but even that comes with problems. Trying to push the settings too high can cause instability, forcing you to lower the visuals just to keep the game running. It's a real shame that Dragon Age: Origins has gone so long without an official update or proper modernization, because it absolutely deserves one. That being said, if you can push through the glitches and crashes, you'll find one of the best RPG experiences BioWare has ever created. Despite all of its flaws, Dragon Age: Origins still manages to shine brightly. You just have to get it working first. Final Thoughts Playing Dragon Age: Origins in 2026, it's hard to ignore all the problems that come with playing a game from 2009. The crashes, outdated systems, and technical issues are all reminders of its age. Yet somehow, every time the game fought against me, I always found myself coming back. That is the magic of Dragon Age: Origins. Beneath all of its flaws is a world full of unforgettable characters, meaningful choices, and a journey that feels uniquely yours. Some games are remembered because they were perfect, but others are remembered because they were special. Dragon Age: Origins is one of those games, and nearly two decades later, it remains one of BioWare's greatest achievements. It makes me truly yearn for the days of old. Do yourself a favor, and play it.
