Draft Day Sports: College Football 2022

I've been playing the first access version for a couple of weeks before it came to Steam. I'm new to the series, but I'm hooked. I love that you can either scratch the surface or deep dive at your leisure. If you want to just coach the team and call plays, you can hand off recruitment to the AI and it will do a reasonable job based on our prestige and ranking. If you want to go hard on recruitment and palm off the coaching, then you can just build your team and sim the season. Or you can do it all. I find some GM games expect you to do all of it, and it's overwhelming. It's nice to pick and choose! The UI is slick and simple, very easy to navigate around, nothing is hidden. With the real-life mod, it looks wonderful. The only downside is that there isn't the option to give you a tutorial on each page as you go through the game, like you get in some GM/coaching games. This would definitely be helpful for new players. Some pages have a (?) which you can hover over which provides a glossary, but it's not on every page. Other than that, great game with great support from the developers. I had a few issues with the first access version, and the response to my e-mails was rapid, and solutions were found. No complaints.

I did purchase and play the first access version direct from Wolverine. Another solid addition to the Wolverine franchise. I really like the RPO additions to the play book and think the FOG of war might turn out to be my new go to way to play. There's a great small, but active community, around the Wolverine franchise and the small team of developers continue to be dedicated to incremental improvements in each of their titles. I'm happy to have purchased this latest instalment for college football and I'm looking forward to hours of game time ahead. It's a free trial for 7 days of the full game. You can then either buy it direct or from Steam. Win win!

Overall, a good game. I have simulated about 10 or so seasons with a low-prestige team and it has been enjoyable. Very detailed recruiting! There is a lot of information the game gives you on each recruit and you can spend hours on a season. You can really micromanage this process or allow the game to automate much of it. The coach play calling options are nice although I have not played an actual game. The DLC allows you to import real universities which is nice. The only real flaw I have encountered so far is in the weekly simulation of the games. It appears that there is more parity with each season. I see a lot of top ten teams consistently losing to very low-tier teams. Alabama hosts Eastern Michigan and will lose by three touchdowns. Top 10 Ohio State gets beat by a 2-6 Florida International. That happens A LOT.

Highly polished game, incredible depth, great replay value. Could use some clock management tweaks. I'd rate it an A-.

Can't even create a league or new game. "An error occurred" Not a good look Went to try the free demo version on their website and when I try and launch it says I need an activation key. I would just avoid this crap

Decent game- but after introducing this in Feb, the studio came out with 2023 5 mos later.... This was a money grab... Steam should intervene.

All I can say is that this game is the only true College Football experience out there right now. Now until 2023, this is what you're getting and frankly, I'm impressed.

Love the game when it works, but it constantly glitches. Make sure to save your game.

Fun and addictive if you like college football.

As soon as I get in I like to modify my teams and change everything to real-world stuff. There are mods out there that are supposed to let you do this. I was unsuccessful, so I started changing everything myself. It's painstakingly tedious to update all the teams. Each team takes minutes to modify even with all the logos and everything downloaded already. Don't hit Shift-TAB because the Steam overlay will take up your screen and you'll have a hard time getting it off. The updates take forever to save. Once I had a few teams in, I went to the league settings and even though I had set it initially for an eight-team playoff, the game was locked into no playoff with no chance to fix it. All the award names are blank and they didn't save. I can't change any of the settings, in the settings area. I give up. I don't know why Wolverine is putting out a 2022 version anyway. I had the 2021 version. It was fine. It worked. And here I went and paid $39.99 for a new version of it that isn't working right and has sucked all the fun out of it. At least give me a returning player discount. If you already have 2021, don't bother getting 2022. Waste of $39.99.
