The game is so much fun. I love all the Doom games. This one is high octane and sweaty as heck at higher difficulties for me at least. I'm working my way through the Ancient Gods DLC and am being tested. If you are up for a challenge, go for it you won't regret it!

Campaign won't launch

Everything about the gameplay, soundtrack, graphics and setting is great, however the technical issues caused by the online elements and complete lack of QoL when it comes to 100% completion makes this an extremely tedious and frustrating experience that does not respect the player's time whatsoever. You would think that it would be common sense to be able to fast travel when replaying missions for collectibles, yet the fast travel only unlocks after you've gotten to specific checkpoints. What's worse is that you have to complete the entire level in one sitting otherwise you will be sent back to the base on your completed save the next time you load the game. As if that's not bad enough, if for whatever reason you miss even just one collectible upon completion you have to do the entire level again. I'm still going to mark this review as positive since the most important aspect (the actual game) is great, but my experience with trying to achievement hunt on this game is enough to make me consider marking it as negative.

A company as legendary as Id software deserves better, Microsoft. Doom will be one of the most dissapointing IP's to add to the graveyard.
