Childhood memory
Before I begin: I'm legally obliged to say 'I Love Creventic'. So, I Love Creventic. ദ്ദി(._.) With that out of the way, I'll start. I've played quite a few of Armor Games', uh, games, on sites like Friv before. 'I Love Traffic' was one I played here and there, but Primary was one of my all-time favourite web games. Basically, I'm familiar, but somehow never heard of this trilogy. The premise is fairly self-explanatory, as is the gameplay. It's simple in the first game but there's a decent level of scouring you'll benefit from if you poke around the room, and it pays off well! The second game is the one I've been coming at from a few different angles as it's much more diverse and complex. For as point-and-clicky as the game is there's some good depth in figuring out what to do with your life for an evening... or if you're feeling particularly merciless, do nothing, or go one further and
shoot your comrades point blank
for no good reason at all. Your call. The art's crunchy. The very first game was released in 2013, and it does look to've aged really well while feeling appropriately suited to looking like other games of the time I played. Although it gets a bit dark, the devoid-of-light kind. My biases are obviously a bit skewed here (you should look up Creventic), but with the value it's at I think it's a tidy trilogy and worth the time. Technical stuff: Proton 10.0-4 on Linux Mint 22.3. Would it surprise you to know this runs pretty much flawlessly? It's all of 120 megabytes, so it's fairly economical too.
While I played these games while they were free on my school computer using the flash-player I still all these years later had to purchase and re-experience these masterpieces. At the time of purchase there is a sale meaning this bundle is worth $1.24, which is very good for 3 simple puzzle point-and-click adventures. The pixel art is well made, and whatever jank is present gives it a retro feel rather than taking away from the art. The puzzles are clever and well thought out, while offering a challenge at some points no guides are needed. The stories go from simple 10 minute adventures to being narratives genuinely compelling. The stories are never ground-breaking however they are original and worthy of recognition. None of Scriptwelder's games have ever let me down, and seeing as his whole collection is 15.90 due to the current sale I could not recommend the whole collection to whomever enjoys challenging puzzles, well-crafted pixel art, and deep compelling narratives. The games have only improved throughout Scriptwelder's career so if the jank of the first game gets to be too much then I would suggest powering through the first three games and seeing of your opinion changes. These games are a hidden gem, well worth their cheep price, and you will be hit with a sense of melancholy when they're over.
the don't escape/deep sleep universe is one of the best ones out there. I just love the lore and the little stories that they created.
It's worth it.
Markiplier inspired this playthough!
Bet you can ESCAPE this TRILOGY.
Real blast from the past to boot these games back up. Happy to toss the dev $5 for the nostalgia, and they're just plain fun.
