Games like these are ones that I'd love a neutral rating for. This game kinda feels like it doesn't know what it wants to be. It's not spooky enough to be spooky. The puzzles aren't puzzley enough to be puzzles. The mystery aspects aren't mysterious enough to be interesting. The story aspects aren't narrative enough to be engaging. But also, none of those portions of the game are bad. They're just not good. They half-assed many things instead of whole-assing a few things, and it shows. 6/10, worth it during a sale.
--- I was hoping the game would be on the level of Strnge Horticulture/Strange Antiquities or close to it. But no—there's little plot, a lot of text with poor Russian localization, and little time to read it, including cutscenes. The guide to the humor wheel is very vague; I was often just guessing. Perhaps it's partly realistic from the perspective of medicine in past centuries, especially in a small, remote town, but that's a weak excuse. I'd be interested in finding out where the owl came from. The interactions with some characters are also rather vague—Alora, for example. She doesn't evoke any interest or sympathy. I mostly experienced moderate stress due to the time and the randomness of the medicine selection and dosage. These are my main impressions. I don't recommend this game.
I love the uncanny feeling that every new interaction with the NPCs bring and also the story-telling is building so much tension. Sometimes I wish the controlls were a little better, because a misclick can cause someone's death ;(, but still a wonderful game and brilliant Lovecratian horror°
I struggle to really lock in too games like these and I high key only bought it cause the lil owl looked really cute but I was able to sit down and play for 4 hours straight. Absolutely phenomenal will be trying to get all the endings :3
Wonderful, harmful game!!
