Dino Crisis is an interesting series. In part it is because of the concept, and in part it is because of how different they are from each other. Dino Crisis 1 is a survival horror game that feels very much like playing Resident Evil, but with dinosaurs instead of zombies / mutants. Dino Crisis 2 does not. It has the same graphics and the same aiming system, complete with fixed cameras, but little else feels the same. Ammo is never a problem. If you run out, you just refill at the next station with "extinction points." Extinction points are earned by killing dinosaurs. The more you kill, the more points you get. The differences between the games are both a strength and weakness. Dino Crisis 1 had too many puzzles for my taste, and enemies were too bullet spongey. Dino Crisis 2 has almost no puzzles, and the few that exist are brain dead easy. Run through a corridor, kill dozens of dinosaurs until objective, run back and kill dinosaurs to objective, rinse and repeat. Never felt threatened. I was more annoyed at losing combos from a random enemy hitting me than I was of getting killed. I liked the story, it intrigued me. I liked the characters. Regina is great, and I honestly think she had some good chemistry with the other lead, Dylan. The environments were very well drawn and designed. I like almost anything that looks like Resident Evil in terms of graphics, so obviously I liked that aspect of it. Unfortunately, the ending is a major cliffhanger that is never resolved, which sucks. It's a shame, as the story was interesting enough for me to want to see it finished. Enemies often attack from beyond the camera view, which feels cheap. THere's no reall horror here, and the dinosaurs feel very weak. I'd compare the two games to the Alien movies in terms of feel. One is horror, two is action. TLDR: Game has more action, less puzzles, and more tedium. Recommend only to those with nostalgia or those very curious about the series.

10/10 Dino Crisis 2 was my favorite PS1 game, even more than Resident Evil. The game is extremely fun: using the square button to stab with the knife, being able to shoot while running, not to mention that it was an action survival horror game long before the idea of Resident Evil 4 even existed. To this day, I remember a PlayStation magazine saying that Dino Crisis 2 was the first 3D game where you could shoot and run at the same time, and that it had a dedicated button for using the knife, which was square. I honestly don’t understand why Capcom destroyed this franchise. Dino Crisis 2 itself had incredible gameplay, even though the story was pretty silly and weak. The ending is ridiculous, and why? Why didn’t Capcom give this game the attention it deserved? It is so loved by us. Dino Crisis 1 and Dino Crisis 2 are unforgettable games for those of us who lived through the PS1 era.

I like Dino Crisis 2 a lot

Великая игра, в которую мне довелось поиграть в далёком детстве. Атмосфера и качество игры на тот момент, просто поражало. Сюжет интересный до безумия. С нетерпением жду ремейка данного произведения, ведь прохожу её стабильно 2 раза в год. Игра по факту отжила свою играбельность, но даже сейчас, в угоду ностальгии и необычных ощущений для новичков, что любят классику - эта игра самое то. Категорически рекомендую всем, кто ещё не ознакомился с этим шедевром. Пик индустрии игр! И моя самая любимая игра вообще)
