I almost finished this game on PS4, but of course I had to buy it for PC as well. I hope to finish it one day on PC. The combat is not my favorite, but not that bad. The story's worth your time!
What a ride - and not a good one. But also not a bad one. May sound strange but you need to know that you will have to play the game at least twice to get the "correct" ending and story experience. My first playthrough was W**** and it nearly ruined the entire game for me. Luckily, with the second playthrough, everything changed. However, the game still is not perfect by a long shot. PRO: - fantastic, absolutely gorgeous artstyle, 2.5 sprites and arenas with painted textures. It captures the feeling of the OG anime perfectly. This fact alone nearly makes the game a positive, despite all the bad things. - Some relatively underused mons can be captured and used, for example MarineDevimon, one of my favourits. - A different spin on the digi world (more...esoterical than digital). - Some very likeable characters. - Its a visual novel, but combat is plenty and doesnt feel tacked on. But now the cons... CONS: - even though the combat does not feel tacked on, its bare minimum at best. Without auto combat in my second playthrough I would have probably not played it again. I thoroughly enjoy the animations and the sprites and love seing them, but the movement is way to cumbersome and the arenas are also not that varried. Combat itself is not that deep either. You always have to maneuveur around an enemy and then attack. You would think, as a strategy combat sim, there would be more to it but types rarely feel influantial and you always choose the attack that does the most amount of damage. More depth here would have been appreciated. - The story itself is... hm. Not really meh, but also not bad. Since I like this depiction of the digi world, I find myself enjoying going through the story again, but not because its so engaging like a Danganronpa. Its fine, but there can be parts that nearly made me deinstall the game (W****). A second playthrough however fixed those issues. - The english translation is very bad. You can follow everything, but I found some translations to be very weird and unfitting for the situation. So much in fact that it took me out of the moment and made me frown when I read the text. - The entire affinity mechanic isnt really explained and can you lock out of evolutions on your first playthrough. I dont want to spoil anything, so look it up yourself but if you want certain partner mons to evolve, affinity is the name of the game. ---- Pretty long con list for a game that I sill would recommend to people that enjoy digimon. I grew up with it, so seing these absolutely beautiful sprites and a rather/sometimes interesting story (dont feel bad if you skip sometimes, the dialogue can be very abd at times) was worth it. For someone who doesnt like digimon... well, I wouldnt start here with getting into it.
still playing it is a bit slow but if you are a fan of visual novels, all you.
It's a dark visual novel with some Tactical RPG elements. your choices matter and the 3 endings you can get really make you want to play more. Don't buy it if you want Combat and grind 24/7. this is a Story game that you sit back and relax and read about.
i am not surviving this universe with cryptid lopmon and vegetarian agumon
Good Game
god
