About
Devil Spire Falls is a procedurally generated, open-world, hardcore action-RPG built around dynamic and interconnected systems and mechanics.
Create your own unique character and delve into this dark fantasy world where the actions of heroes past caused the first Devil Spire to fall, and spread an accursed fog throughout the land... And the monsters that lurked within.
Explore the overworld, conquer dungeons, become the town hero, raze every village to the ground, hunt monsters, slay bosses, slaughter bandits or nomad camps, kill that merchant, run away, build your own home, gather your party, go on quests, farm, fish, mine, hunt, tame... The possibilities are endless!
In this world where nothing is predetermined... Everything is permitted. No character is so important it can't be killed. No dungeon is made to be an easy or even fair challenge. No obstacle can't be smartly circumvented or brute-forced through. You will enter a world of its own, unconcerned with your well-being, and unprotected against your machinations! And of course, your choices are permanent, and they matter.
Fully customizeable character creation, including facial features, with several Races, Classes and Origins, backed by a deep, real RPG system with 7 attributes, skills, perks, equipment, magic and more!
18 unique weapon classes with their own special properties! From swords to flails, from bows to muskets, and from throwing knifes to javelins. You're sure to find one that suits your tastes! Or just use your own fists and feet!
35 Skills with 9 Perks each! Unlock special attacks, acquire new actions, get rid of limiters, learn how to craft mighty weapons, build your own house, double-jump, or simply unlock a door and disarm traps, etc. With enough training, your powers will know no limits!
Create your own spells with over 100 effects, from buffing to burning, invisibility to telekinesis, shrinking to transforming... There's enough magicks to fill an entire library with arcane grimoires!
A deep combat system with several unique attacks, blocking and parrying, dodges, kicks, and much more. You must use every tool at your disposal to outmaneuver your enemies, conserve your stamina, leave them stunned and confused, and emerge victorious!
Physics and environmental shenanigans: Throw items at enemies, kick them off cliffs, build your own bridges and stairs, sneak past them while snuffing out lights, use the traps and whatever else is around you to come out on top!
Climb anything, swim to the deepest depths, leap over mountains, fly above the clouds, tame and ride a horse... or learn how to run faster than them. There are many ways to traverse this vast world, and reach every room in the treacherous dungeons. Just how many secrets lie in the far reaches of the world, or behind a secret wall?
In-depth NPC interaction system: Trade items, chit-chat, join factions, do quests, get trained, ask for information, recruit them to your party... not to mention all the interactions outside civil conversation like pick-pocketing, murder, induced coma, and other accidents!
An endless amount of items, activities, interactables and things to build or destroy, all interlinked and working with each other! Build your own base, grow your own crops, gather, mine and fish, or just destroy anything that stands in your path. The choice is yours!
While you have the freedom to do whatever it is you desire... The Urge to conquer a newly risen Devil Spire does not leave your mind. Will you repeat the errors of the past, discover the truths behind the massive towers, or simply take their power as your own? You now have the entire world to explore, conquer, and scour for answers!

this game is good
I know its just a few hours on record and would recommend this if you enjoy Kings field and/or Daggerfall however I'd prefer to not be immortal and have to reset from the star. eagerly awaiting permadeath! id rather die and start over than die at level 1 and be down a level the entire game. Especially when you can create a character at the same level as the highest you made it in the world.
Very cool game, I played instead of going to work.

pretty fun
oi
It's a joy to see a developer so invested in their game, actively asking the community for feedback and making various pools on discord to see what kind of content is the community most interested in for the next update, strongly support this dev, this is the kind of early access experience that should be norm! As for the gameplay itself, it's great fun, harsh world in the beginning but as you get used to how things work (pretty in depth system with a lot of skills that doesn't hold your hand much) and progress through the various dungeons/towns you slowly become god, finding new and exciting ways how to make yourself even stronger (think Morrowind? Pretty sure it took some inspiration from it)... If that sounds like your kind of thing I strongly encourage to at LEAST give the demo a go to see what it's all about! :)
THE GOOD: The Itch: The game is a mix between The older Elder Scrolls games, Kingsfield, and Kenshi. If you enjoy watching content about Daggerfall or Kingsfield but find the actual gameplay too experimental or antiquated to get into then this game brings the modern controls and QOL design choices for you to finally scratch that super niche itch for retro, dark-fantasy, dungeon-crawling, RPG adventure. Style: having played the obvious inspirations of KF1,2,3, and 4 along with the Shadow Tower games and the older Elder Scrolls games I can definitely say that this game matches the 'vibe' to a good degree. However it doesn't seem to aesthetically commit to anything other than 'PS1' era 3D. Scope: 'Lot's of stuff to do' is an understatement. 3 hours in and I built a camp where I stored things I; bartered for, mined, planted, and looted. I tamed a horse, rode it to a city, traded my wares. It was late but rather than pay to sleep at a inn I elected to fast travel ( Daggerfall style where time passes and travel can be interrupted ) back home. This was a mistake. I was intercepted by monsters before I even left the city gate. They ( having the capacity to use fire offensively ) proceeded to ignite a great many residential buildings in pursuit of me. I found a fishing rod and am yet to use it. THE BAD: Jank: Collision is somewhat unforgiving and you will find yourself needing to jump to clear shin-high obstacles as well as getting stuck between objects and NPCs. THE UGLY: I'm not going to sugar-coat it. The characters are in an uncanny valley between modern- and retro pixel art . It reminds me of the player characters from Vintage-Story. TLDR: definitely worth 15$ if you like the older Elder Scrolls or Kingsfield games.
Yes
Very fun randomly generated sandbox game as if Daggerfall and Morrowind had a direct mixed sequel
