Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Yeah, but on sale. These games are fun, but very over-rated. I got the 2 of them for about $10-15, and don't think they're worth more than that. There's a lot to the stealth that's terribly designed...most especially silently taking down enemies/hiding bodies uses battery, having to be so clunky to draw guards. Can't throw things from your inventory so you have to look for things... Stealth is best when you find alternate routes. It excels at options in that way, showcasing the brilliant world design. The physical mechanics just don't always work well. Changing between 1st and 3rd person is a bad idea. It's clunky in how it's implemented, and often stops in the middle or won't let go. Hardcore players love to punish themselves with poor mechanics, and this game has them. Human Revolution had them as well, and they clearly didn't go over. The shooting is ok. It can be very inaccurate, and cause you to blow your stealth even though the crosshairs are red on headshots. Anything but a headshot is into a damage sponge on easy. It's not consistent...which means it's not fun. The world and lore are great. The stories are solid. This is the other good thing about this game, and the series in general. This does lean too heavily on the racism BS that devs were just warming up for when this came out. it gets tiring. Technically, it's just ok. Poor optimization causes frame rate issues. The game crashes a bit, but the DLC is terrible for crashing. The lack of talent in the industry was noticeable at this point. Been playing games since 78, and I've played the original DX many times back when it came out. This is ok. It tanked the series, and I can see why. I'm a cynic, but I've played games since the beginning, and games haven't been really good since the 2000's. you can see the early iterations of poor hiring practices leading to lower quality products taking hold by the 2010's with the low quality of games.

I find Deus Ex: Human Revolution to be the overall better game, mostly due to the atmosphere and the story. However, the sequel does have the better gameplay, mechanics and graphics. If you enjoyed the original or into espionage/tactical games with a deep story, then you won't be disappointed. Let's hope this game gets the love it deserves and hopefully another installment in the series follows.

Fun fps sci-fi, many ways to explore maps and kill enemies or stun them. Story is very good compared stories what they make today (2026). Too bad that they axed this series, would have liked to get a new Deus Ex game. Wait for a sale and play the first one first.
