I played this game alot on xbox gamepass back in the day, jsut getting back into it and it's a certified hood classic. A perfect, simple lil game

if my friends are kinda really in to games like these i would recommended to them but due to their true passion for shooting game that they meat ride on for call of duty they might not be into it
Enjoyed very straight forward play loop that feels rewarding. Will beat it a few times and call it good. Need more beatable in a sit down type game.
I really like roguelites and this game got everything you want in a roguelite. The positive: + Sweet pixel art + nice little story + after figuring out the controls, it's fun slaughtering through the enemies and feels pretty smooth + for each difficulty level, there is an other ending + many different weapons and heroes to choose from + You can unlock things without progressing further a head, making it easier. The negative: - The difficulty is nearly not changing from tier 1 to 2, but to tier 3 its a big jump. - If you want to play with mouse and keyboard, you will have a few problems with the keybindings. One button you can't bind, and there is no discription for the others. - You can't change the language (at least i didn't find out how to) - It's really short All in all its a nice roguelite. But i because it is so short, I wouldn't recommend buying it at fullprice. Wait for a sale to buy it.
8/10 Fun Rouge-Like Dungeon-Crawler I enjoyed playing Demons Tier because it got challenging especially on higher "Tier´s". Sadly there is a Bug wich drove me almost insane (unreachable enemies you have to kill to proceed)... Pro: - challenging - nice pixel-graphics - many weapons to unlock by playing - many different enemys - ok soundtrack - randomized levels - 2 player coop possible Cons: - gets boring quick - annoying bug
Excellent Pixel Roguelike; Criminally Underrated & Under-Reviewed This game has some Heroes of Hammerwatch vibes but with a stripped down and simplistic approach. The graphical presentation is great; especially considering the extremely small dev team. Weapon upgrades each have there own unique projectile sprite which is a nice touch. I also liked the ability to choose between the 3 graphical "filters" (Standard, High Res and CRT). The player character has good weight and movement feel. Additionally, it offers good replay value with multiple character classes and endings depending on the difficulty. I honestly cannot believe how few reviews this game currently has considering how good it is. One minor gameplay tweak I would have made is adjusting how the rope item that lets you return to town during a run also ends it. I would have liked to see it be a 2-way item but perhaps limit that to once per run; that way you don't have to force the player into making a good run into a guaranteed coin farming mission.
If i had to summarize the game, it would be mediocre. The core game loop is to shoot at and avoid enemies, but neither feel interesting. There is a lack of polish. UI shows controller input, even when using keyboard. If you plug in a controller you have to restart the game before it will detect input. I ran into a bug where the game launched with the resolution of what looked to be 50 x 1000? Reinstalling fixed it, but this seems to be an issue for other people too. A few notable positives, the art is cute. Having the town be part of the interface is somewhat charming. Rewarding the player for leaving the dungeon early is interesting and could be used to create tension? Although I'm not sure that was the intent.
Really enjoyable little dungeon crawler with multiple playable classes. Some characters do seem better than others, but overall they are all fairly viable, each with their own different strengths and weaknesses (based on their starting stats). The maps are randomized, although the game always follow the same sequence of areas and bosses. So while there is replayability in the sense that every run is different, the types of hazards and enemies you'll encounter is based on the area, which allows you to "learn the game" as you progress and overcome failures. Each time you clear a floor in the dungeon, you can spend gold you picked up along the way to increase your stats. Some characters start out with more movement speed, health, defense, damage, attack range etc. This means that different characters will benefit from different stat builds, so based on the character you will build according to what you need to cover your weaknesses and boost your strengths. You do need to keep moving however as you get a 5 minute time limit per floor until a reaper appears and chases after you which is unkillable. The pixel art is good, the character designs are all pretty and overall the music tracks were really nice. I would buy the soundtrack if it were available on steam if cheap or on sale. The game has an arcade feel to it where the objective is to clear the game in one sitting. And for that reason even though I've already cleared the game with all characters now I can still see myself coming back to this game now and then in the future. A bit of advice for beginners I wish I knew when I first started the game. When you die, you lose all the coins you've collected. The game explains this, and says that you can use a magic rope to escape the dungeon to not lose your coins, but what it doesn't tell you at the beginning is how to actually do that. The Y button (on gamepad) opens up a wheel which allows you to use items and in here you'll find the magic rope. You begin the game with 10 of these. You can then use coins to spend on purchasing potions and unlocking other characters and weapon recipes you find. The second advice for beginners is from the main town, walk to the sign in the bottom right to access options and change your HUD to #3. The default HUD hides valuable info about the floor you're on in the pause menu (i.e. how many enemies and chests are remaining), where as this HUD option displays everything you need at the top of the screen at all times. Also, pausing the game shows you a map which marks which parts of the floor you've visited. This helps you to efficiently navigate the floor within the time limit. Overall I had a lot of fun with this game.
Really great game, extremely addictive twin stick rogue RPG Shump. One of best games on Steam and well worth the money asked. If you like Riddled Corpses this is similar but even better!!!
