About
Welcome to experience DEFLATE 音序真空, a drop-style rhythm game carefully crafted by the domestic indie music platform dizzylab. Our inspiration comes from the classic drum machines that defined electronic music, and we hope to bring you a pure and focused rhythm challenge.

[Gameplay]
Switch between two musical dimensions in sync with the beat — you are both the melody and the rhythm.
Every character you choose in DEFLATE comes with its own unique set of timbres.
But the real magic lies in the longest key on your keyboard — the Spacebar.
Press the Spacebar as the falling bar reaches the line to enter Melody Mode.
Become a melody runner: strike classic falling notes with precision, perform the song’s intricate and expressive lead lines, and enjoy the pure thrill of your fingertips dancing across the keys.
Or press the Spacebar in time with the falling bar to instantly switch into Drum Machine Mode.
Become the heartbeat of the rhythm as the screen transforms into a classic two-step drum machine sequencer.
Lay down kicks and snares by hand and build the rhythmic backbone that drives the entire track.
[A Tribute to Rhythm and Timbre]

the charts r so confusing and feel different from the usual charts you see in big games, it rather feels like those key notes are not synced well but rather spammed

i freaking love this game bro it has the elephants and chickens backflipping its so awesome uhh not alot of songs but the songs that exist are very well charted also the game is awesome
Chinese bangers. Also It's cool that this game is from an indie music platform. I love the song selection and I'm excited for what will come of this game. One complaint though, my entire game was bugged for a while... that is until I saw a review that I could hit refresh to default in settings and that fixed it.
DEFLATE is a rhythm game developed and published by dizzylab that attempts to do more than simply challenge reaction speed and note accuracy. Built around electronic music influences and a layered gameplay structure, the title introduces mechanics that encourage players to think about rhythm from different angles rather than treating music purely as background accompaniment. While many rhythm games focus entirely on memorization and timing precision, DEFLATE aims to create a stronger connection between gameplay and musical interpretation, giving it an identity that feels distinct within a crowded genre. At first glance, DEFLATE appears familiar. The game presents a four-key vertical rhythm system where players synchronize inputs with incoming patterns while maintaining timing accuracy across increasingly demanding songs. Players familiar with rhythm titles will immediately recognize the foundation. Fast reactions, concentration, and pattern recognition remain critical to success. However, DEFLATE introduces an additional design philosophy that separates it from more traditional rhythm experiences. The defining feature is its dual gameplay structure. Rather than relying on a single method of interaction, DEFLATE divides musical engagement into separate approaches that encourage players to experience sound differently. One mode emphasizes traditional rhythm execution through precise timing and beat management. The other shifts attention toward melody, creating moments where players feel more connected to musical flow rather than purely mechanical execution. Transitioning between these systems creates variety that prevents gameplay from becoming repetitive. A particularly interesting mechanic revolves around movement between musical layers during gameplay. Players actively shift focus while maintaining performance accuracy, creating an experience that feels more dynamic than standard note-matching systems. The mechanic introduces additional complexity without overwhelming accessibility. As players improve, songs begin to feel less like obstacle courses and more like performances where rhythm and melody operate together. The musical identity becomes one of DEFLATE's greatest strengths. dizzylab originates from an independent music background, and that influence appears throughout the experience. Electronic music heavily shapes the soundtrack direction, creating a strong atmosphere that reinforces gameplay mechanics naturally. Instead of relying on generic audio support, DEFLATE places music at the center of everything it does. Sound selection feels deliberate, helping gameplay and soundtrack function together as a unified experience. Visual presentation adopts a cleaner design philosophy that prioritizes readability. Rhythm games demand clarity, particularly as chart difficulty increases, and DEFLATE understands this requirement well. Notes remain visible during fast sequences while visual effects enhance performance feedback without cluttering the screen. The interface communicates information efficiently while maintaining a sleek aesthetic that complements the electronic atmosphere. The game also introduces elements that add variety beyond raw difficulty scaling. Different musical characteristics and gameplay combinations create opportunities for experimentation, encouraging players to adapt rather than simply memorize patterns. Progression feels tied to skill development and familiarity with the game's unique systems rather than relying solely on increasing note density. Accessibility remains another important strength. DEFLATE does not exclusively target elite rhythm game players chasing technical mastery. Newcomers can gradually learn its systems while experienced players pursue optimization and higher performance rankings. This balance between challenge and approachability helps broaden the game's appeal without compromising depth. As an Early Access project, DEFLATE naturally shows areas still evolving. Technical responsiveness remains especially important within rhythm games because even small inconsistencies can affect player satisfaction. Ongoing refinement will likely determine how strong the final product ultimately becomes. Additional content expansion and continued balancing improvements should strengthen the experience over time. The learning curve may initially challenge players unfamiliar with rhythm games that demand both timing precision and adaptive thinking. Early attempts can feel overwhelming as players learn how the game's systems interact. However, gradual improvement becomes rewarding as understanding develops. Mastering difficult sections creates satisfying moments that reinforce the appeal of rhythm games as a genre. What makes DEFLATE memorable is not simply that it introduces new mechanics but that those ideas support its central musical identity. Too many rhythm games rely entirely on familiar formulas with cosmetic differences. DEFLATE demonstrates a willingness to experiment while still respecting genre fundamentals. The result feels creative without abandoning accessibility. dizzylab delivers a project that values musical engagement alongside mechanical challenge. The combination of electronic music influence, layered gameplay systems, and evolving Early Access support creates a foundation with considerable potential. Players searching for a rhythm game that attempts to offer something beyond familiar formulas may find DEFLATE particularly appealing. It may still be growing and improving, but even in its current form DEFLATE demonstrates ambition and originality. By treating rhythm and melody as equally important pieces of gameplay rather than simple supporting elements, it creates an experience that feels energetic, focused, and refreshingly different. Rating: 8/10
I love the music selection so far. As this is early access, I'll mainly focus on critique for the game. 1. The drum mode is more enjoyable at least for me in every song and most characters. Not that hi-hat is awful. I think the hi-hat melody mode should have more impact especially on hold notes. Sometimes it can feel off beat, compared to when you switch to the drums which feel more impactful and like I am playing with the song. As this is the game's main 'gimmick' I think it should be refined as much as possible. 2. I play Lynn the most because I like the more classic sound. I appreciate the direction of the characters and their variety and focus on different styles. Maybe have the aesthetic settings of notes keep between characters and not global? 3. I like the variations of difficulty and recommend keep introducing more difficult songs on the 9-11 level. As every song is 4 notes, muscle memory is easier but you shouldn't make the game too easy overall. I love it so far and am looking forward to supporting it. Once it is refined it could pass DJMAX as my #1 rhythm game! Edit 05/15/2026: The latest track with the pink cover (don't know the name bc its in Chinese), does a lot better job of the melody section even if the song itself has some ...interesting tempo with the english lyrics. Even playing with the new collab characters which have a more gimmicky sound, the hold notes not only sounded better but were well placed in the song and felt like they had more impact. I played it with Lynn where the hihats are more emphasized and it was also better. Not perfect. But lots better!
