You've become the major of a town that... doesn't exist. Nobody lives here, the governor's stupid joke. It's time to get to work and turn this NOWHERE into a bustling metropolis. Mine coal, ore, and gold. Build houses, find oil, bring in new residents, create a paradise in the middle of nowhere.

About
You’ve arrived where the maps end and the wild, untamed frontier begins. Your mission is to build a thriving town from the ground up — a place that will attract settlers, traders, and fortune‑seekers. This land may look worthless… but give it time. Beneath the surface lie riches that could change your life forever.
Explore deeper layers of the earth and gather the resources that will become the foundation of your growing empire:
coal, iron, copper, gold, and diamonds
crude oil hidden in deep underground deposits
metal smelting furnaces and oil extraction machines
Every resource brings you closer to a bigger town and greater opportunities.
You start with a few planks and a tent, but soon you’ll be able to:
construct houses and attract new residents
expand your infrastructure
decorate and customize your own living space however you like
Your settlement can become a true oasis in the middle of the wasteland.
Progress requires investment. Buy better tools and explosives from traveling merchants. Improve your logistics:
crates and wheelbarrows for transporting materials
horses and wagons for hauling large loads
Hire workers so your town keeps growing even when you’re busy elsewhere.
The Wild West isn’t just gold and oil — it’s danger too:
attacks from wild animals
bandits roaming the area
pistols and shotguns available for purchase to defend yourself and your townsfolk
Your settlement must be safe if it’s going to survive.
After a long day of hard work, you can:
visit the saloon
play darts
shoot to the bottle
Even a sheriff needs a break.
Will you manage to transform this forgotten “Nowhere” into a thriving metropolis and rise from a small‑town sheriff to a wealthy governor?

it sure should have been tested more. the quest line is bugged if you dont buy the things in order. it sais i have to buy a better bag pack but iv got that maxed. surly because i progressed on that before i had the quest for it. thats kinda bad...
7/10
– Welcome to Nowhere, population: me, a tent and an unreasonable amount of coal. Dig, build, mine, shoot bandits, and slowly turn the wilderness into a town. It’s simple, occasionally janky, but has its moments—and at this price, my wallet isn’t crying. 🤠⛏️ Follow for frontier chaos, budget-friendly adventures, and games where somehow I became mayor of absolutely nothing. 🤠🏜️✨ https://store.steampowered.com/curator/42602807-Osiris-Reviews/

At first, the game makes a really good impression. Digging, selling what you find, and upgrading your equipment feels satisfying, and there is also a progression system and town development. But the longer you play, the more you realize that the developer added a huge number of mechanics without really developing any of them properly. The result is a mixed bag: there are plenty of things to do, but almost none of them have much depth. Games with fewer mechanics that are more fleshed out end up being much more enjoyable. Another major problem is constantly running back and forth with planks. And I mean constantly. A single building can require more than 100 planks, while the wheelbarrow only holds 20. You would think wagons would solve the problem, since the best one can carry 100 planks. But no. You cannot simply load 100 planks into it. You first have to pack them into 10 crates of 10 planks each, then deal with loading and unloading all those crates. In the end, it takes more time than simply making several trips with the wheelbarrow. And a special "thank you" to whoever decided that having the character constantly burp after drinking was funny or appropriate. It is just disgusting, especially because you have to drink frequently. This is a game about digging, where food and drinks are constantly needed to restore stamina. There is definitely potential here, and at $2.50 I don't regret buying it. But in its current state, I still can't recommend it.
I’m very mixed about Wild West Miner Simulator I actually enjoyed the game and there’s definitely a good foundation here, but I’ve basically completed everything in around 9 hours, which feels far too short for a mining simulator. The biggest problem for me is that there is only one hole/area to mine resources from. Once you’ve mined everything out, that’s basically it. I now have no proper way of earning more money or continuing to progress. There’s also a progression problem with the oil pump jack. I need coal to operate it, but once the mining area has been exhausted, I have no reliable way of getting the coal I need. So I’ve reached the point where I have equipment to use, but the game no longer gives me the resources needed to actually use it. That’s a shame because I genuinely enjoyed the gameplay while there was something to work towards. It just feels like the game runs out of content far too quickly. I think it desperately needs additional mining areas, renewable/resetting resource deposits, or another way of obtaining basic resources such as coal. There also needs to be more end-game progression and more ways of earning money once the original mine has been exhausted. There’s a good game here, and I’d happily put many more hours into it, but at the moment it feels more like the beginning of a mining simulator than a finished one. Mixed recommendation for now enjoyable while it lasts, but there simply isn’t enough content or long-term progression yet.

The first issue is that the E key interaction does not always work. You have to search for the exact spot where the interaction point appears before the action will actually work. This makes basic gameplay unnecessarily frustrating. The second issue is poor optimization. Even on a fairly powerful PC, the game suffers from FPS drops, stuttering, and freezes. For me, that was enough to refund the game. I couldn't even properly get started because the interaction problems made it impossible to reliably gather basic resources. If such a fundamental gameplay mechanic already becomes a struggle, there is simply no reason for me to continue playing.
I think some of the negative reviewers mentioning lack of content forget that they only paid ~$5 for this game. These kind of games are perfect after a long day at work. There isn't much here.. but the content that does exist is simple and relaxing. My only gripe is having to click 80 times to buy a single planks to fulfill a housing quest... then traveling across the map several times to deliver it all. Hopefully they tweak to allow us to enter a number to buy and automatically delivering it to the jobsite.
Played the demo and enjoy the increased amount of story and expansion ability in early access. Not the perfect AAA level game or graphics or controls, but has a repeatable grind that is not too bad and keeps you looking forward to the next merchant or visitor who needs to build a new home or business to add to your Nowhere town. I will continue the grind and dig and recommend people looking for simple chill games to give this a shot especially when its such a low investment there is not really much to lose unless you are hypercritical about technical performance, graphics, or hate grindy loop games.
So someone made a game 17 years ago for a class project.. then found it on a floppy disk and uploaded to Steam for sale..
