About
Deadly Days is a unique strategic rogue-lite in the zombie apocalypse. Manage and protect a group of survivors and help them to stop the catastrophe. Discover and use a large number of wild and crazy objects, even wilder and crazier survivors, special abilities, and deadly weapons.

More than 60 crazy objects that make every game unique, including tooth paste
More than 30 powerful special abilities that can dramatically alter the outcome of fights
Three different specialties in which you can unlock new abilities, survivors, objects, and types of weapons
More than 25 types of weapons with randomly generated modifications
Procedurally generated cities and missions
More than 55 different survivors with 50 different abilities
More than 10 different types of zombies who want only one thing: brains
And three bosses who must be vanquished at the end
Over 45 achievements that need to be unlocked
Lovingly crafted pixel art
Integrated twitch features – viewers become survivors and decide which mission should be taken on next
For every attempt to save the world, you need to find the best combination of objects, special abilities, and weapons. You must use what you get. Endless airstrikes or an army of rats? There are many paths to Rome, but you decide.
The cities are created procedurally, allowing for endless combinations. Plunder the cities as quickly as possible, otherwise an exploding zombie might blast you to pieces, or a zombie on steroids might stomp you to dust. Be careful! Very dangerous hordes of zombies await in the night.
Shortly before the aplocalypse begins, the fast-food chain MKing brings out a new burger. The meat includes a secret, addictive ingredient to increase profits. The plan works. Over time, however, the drug, leads to the shutting down of all areas of the brain except for the need for fresh meat. Lots of meat! If that's not bad enough, the disease also prevents consumers from dying a natural death – violent means are the only option
Expand your base by building various rooms like a greenhouse or a mechanic room and craft crazy, unique weapons!

It's been fun, I'm having a blast thanks. I picked this up two years ago in 2024 and the backlog has grown and games have come and gone, but I'm happy to have fired this one up finally. Deadly Days is like a rogue-lite, real-time XCOM loot-runner horde survival type of game.... You're doing like two minute daily runs to grab loot, choosing areas of preference to find supplies in hoping of building out the best run you can to take on the final challenge. In terms of rogue-like mechanics, some specialities increase range of value based on unlocks after every failed run... A run defined as a collection of daily runs until beating the game or all survivors dying. And over time you see more activated powers, base items and weapons become available, aforementioned being attributed to limited slots. The order of the day is to accumulate and compose yourself with the best chances possible without over-extending yourselves in certain areas, while lacking in others. For example it doesn't matter if you have a dozen survivors but you can't feed them all... Or giving everyone rocket launchers, then you don't have rate of fire in volume. And because of the variety of items, assembling your dream team has a fair amount of complex tactical flexibility. There is also an abundance of character possiblities and weapon drop/modification possibilities that has you constantly assessing your squad and resources and its useful impactfulness. Do note that there is some purposefully obtuse rage-bait instances in this game. Single explosions wiping your entire team. Lack of food suddenly ending a god run otherwise, that type of thing. There is always this question of balance in these games and it is something I watch closely, like I'm also feeling that early game gets surprisingly difficult mission selection rolls if you get too good of a start, maybe... Its still kind of under evaluation. Overall I appreciate that it is not a simple game to complete which could have trivialized the experience. I believe it is possible to beat the game on the first run if you get lucky and know what you are doing and execute correctly. But the nature of these games is rarely if ever that that is how things play out for you. I've only now completed one run successfully on easy difficulty after more than a dozen hours. But there is enough here to make me want to keep trying again. At some point I used to vehemently factor price into my recommendations on principle of a review aging by the whims of devs suddenly quadrupling the prices of their games. But Steam didn't like that. But this game has been well-priced. It's an easy recommend. The gameloop as well is not so taxing that it requires your attention for hours on end. But its fun enough that it does.
