About
Sixtar Gate: STARTRAIL, a different kind of rhythm game, is now available on Steam! From humble beginnings, something truly grand will be born! Let us enjoy this experience as we work together to create a fresh new rhythm game!
■ Meet your charming navigator
Explore the vast Sixtar system on the science vessel Ausflug with your partner Shii, the operator of the vessel.
Adventure mode, allowing players to get a glimpse into the story of Sixtar Gate, is currently in the works.
■ Check out the variety of music we have to offer!
Featuring songs from artists any rhythm game fan would recognize, including Life is PIANO, Brain Power, and CO5M1C R4ILR0AD.
We have also included original songs from artists like Sound Souler, KARUT, and yomoha that can only be heard in Sixtar Gate: STARTRAIL.
In the future, we are planning to introduce new tracks from well-known franchises like VOCALOID and Touhou Project that players would not easily find in other rhythm games.
■ The gates are opening!
Gates open and close with the flow of the song, changing the amount of lanes players will have to pay attention to.
Experience a new kind of rhythm game. The implementation of this gate system means that you won't be able to let your guard down for a single instant.
■ Free-form multiplay : Unity Session
It doesn't matter if you're not good at rhythm games or just want to play your favorite songs, or even just want to listen to music!
Play and interact with everyone at the same time without limit in one place!

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend buying Sixtar Gate: STARTRAIL in light of Starlike's reckless attempts to expand the otherwise floundering Sixtar Gate series at the expense of what should have been the series' "core" title. This is a real shame considering the game had decent momentum with its EA launch from Nov. 2021. At that time in Steam's VSRG market, Respect V had only just released its NEXON DLC and was prepping for V Extension 2's release, while EZ2ON was still in the middle of building its scaffolding at the tail-end of its stay in EA. STARTRAIL had a compact 36-song roster at launch that rapidly grew in the lead-up to Union Gate for April Fools' 2022 and Flower & Destiny's DLC release. DLC releases mid-Early Access have always been contentious at best by principle, especially as the game kept cruising along with both free song updates and more DLC releases alike going into 2023 and early 2024. In STARTRAIL's defense, there were still some upsides to putting up with all of this. Despite barely going on sale at all, it still had a relatively cheap $25 price tag. It runs smoothly on your poverty Melty Blood AACC set-up. The linear 4/5K + spread 6/7K modes distinguishes the charts from its VSRG contemporaries despite being not-at-all approachable at first; even outside of some dumb gimmicks that can be executed with Gate opening and closing, the charting quality held up decently between Respect V's bursty and EZ2ON's sustained charting styles. And the overall songlist had its own spin on rhythm game J-core mixed with Sound Souler and yomoha's output. STARTRAIL's lone Touhou DLC was bold, considering it threw curveballs like Rebellion of the Dwarfs and KARMANATIONS alongside some of the more frequent Touhou collab songs. All of STARTRAIL's strengths are overshadowed by the game's 3-year stay in Early Access with glaring neglect on things like broken song sync, song select lag, and story songs sometimes not unlocking at all; false reassurance from irregular KR-only streams, last-minute update delays and content update drought from 2024, and Starlike's blatant attempt at riding Project Moon's coattails by...churning out a very sloppily made gacha to get whale money to help gather funds for Sixtar Gate: INFINISTAR, a different, WIP game that follows TAPSONIC BOLD's gameplay style. This is on top of Sixtar Gate: STARGAZER's quiet release and abandonment as of recent, too. Oh, also development on STARTRAIL has effectively stopped after all of 2025 comprised 11 new post-launch, base-game songs and an 8-song collab DLC with KALPA. Not that you'd know about STARTRAIL stopping development because Starlike has never said a word about this outside of another KR-only stream earlier in January! If all of these new title releases in such a short time doesn't seem problematic to you, DJMAX does have two instances where indiscriminate releases led to failure: Metro Project, with CE => Technika => BS becoming a prelude to DJMAX's stagnation period; and NEOWIZ MUCA, with only Respect (V) emerging as DJMAX's golden goose while TTQ and the other Tapsonic projects ended service. Starlike has all but shattered any faith the few remaining Captains had since the game's EA release. I can't even say they rested on any laurels beyond the attention gained, and immediately lost through Union Gate (on Youtube), because they have never seized any opportunities to bring more, and retain attention to the game after that April Fools run. I guess Mima was right when the message of KARMANATIONS is to not cling to the past. It also feels downright depressing to say that the best way to experience the abandoned vessel's songs is to recommend playing PLATiNA :: LAB and/or KALPA: Cosmic Symphony's Sixtar Gate DLC instead.
Abandoned, just waiting for EOS. For some reason game's a bit heavy on CPU usage.
IP 확장 대실패의 대명사 "Starlike Inc." 축하드립니다
if you just want to play a rhythm game then yeah sure there's plenty of tracks to play if you want anything else then i dont think 25 dollars is worth it the shortest story ive seen in a rhythm game and there's a big content drought as the team is working on other projects there are some hard charts but i felt no reason to continue playing the game after a few hours i like the graphic design and aesthetic but the game had no substance
