It’s a game that’s totally worth the price, I picked it up during the summer sale. You play as a curious young girl who can switch between human form and a mechanical alter ego, and use that ability to solve a variety of point and click style puzzles while exploring a strange world of floating fish like planets powered by mysterious mechanisms. The puzzles are the highlight of the experience. Each one feels different, requiring you to gather items, read clues, and experiment a bit, but they are generally not too difficult, just needing some patience, and a few may take a couple of tries. There is also a surprisingly fun hint system that turns help into a small mini game rather than just giving answers directly. The game encourages careful exploration since you need to talk to NPCs, interact with objects multiple times, and collect all creatures for achievements. Missing even one can be painful because there is no chapter select or cutscene skip, so you may have to replay large portions if you miss something. I learned that the hard way after having to walk all the way back across a map, even that “just decoration” creature actually counts. Overall, it’s a short, cozy puzzle game that’s absolutely worth a try.

100% this game and as much as I found the story line pretty cute, it seems the devs created this game while only having knowledge inside their brain and expect us to know it, literally NO other clues in most puzzles or any direction towards them you have to just guess it, trial and error and probably spam the hint button but even that is annoying. I get there are hints on the side of the screen but I don't believe you need that for every puzzle, a lot of the puzzles here are trial and error and it's a waste of time. I play puzzle games to sit back, relax and think... not having to click on every object 10,000 times. I did finish it somewhat in a relatively quick time, however the mis click to scene to scene or door to door and having to crawl all the way back has a long animation and really made my head hot. Ending was cute, i'll give it that.
Gave up on the game cause the game is just bugged, same bugs i saw people complaining years ago. I'm stuck at the retrieve photo puzzle at the ucle house, the climb action just wont appear.
TOHU is a short and beautiful Classic point & click game. Made by Polish indie devs, this brief but atmospheric puzzle adventure excels at their hand-drawn visuals but unfortunately is dragged down a bit by its tedious puzzles. The world tries to blend the whimsical biological fish "planets" with technology, while it gives it an interesting look, it looses the fish planet thread. While it still plays an overarching role to the narrative and the lesson of the story, I still wish it would have at least tried to approach it like the "SAMOROST" games. The maps are charming, just like a picture book. If you liked "Machinarium" or "Creaks", the attention to detail will remind you of that, if not the rustic artstyle. The soundtrack is applauded, which didn't really bother me, so I guess it was fine. The game chooses to be all cutesy and children-oriented, the whimsy is used as a shield to hide the erroneous decisions behind. How does the nameless protagonist "Girl" and the robot "Cubus" swap places, what's the magic/logic behind it story wise? The same story whimsy follows into the puzzle designs which can be VERY disconnected. I wouldn't necessarily call it moon logic, but the unnecessary trial-and-error is not a smart way of handing puzzles. It just becomes a tedious slog. Game can be completed in 4-5 hours. Half my playtime I was asleep during the day. The game is short and linear, it lacks voice acting and the ability to have unique interactions/dialogues when combining wrong items. I'm reminded of "Edna & Harvey" where I enjoyed exploring every tiny possibility for the fun dialogues. While beautiful, it was a slog. I had to look up a Guide multiple times because of how ridiculous the puzzles were. TOHU feels like a short and primitive p&c game of which there have been thousands and most of them free. The price seems a bit high for such a project, best to get it on sale. I'd rather play Botanicula or Machinarium again. You gotta up your game, the classic genre died for a reason.
