Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Same day: best AU #89, worst UK #97 · 2 markets collected
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 5/day in the week to Sep 11 → 24.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

There’s been a backlog of unsolved cases piling up in the Minor Crimes Division of the Los Zorangeles Police Department and we’ll need a Database Detective to help solve them.
We’ll need you to analyze clues and manipulate data using SQL, a database querying language, to figure out who perpetrated crimes from as minor as littering to as serious as not checking out of a hotel after the check-out time.

Don’t worry! This role is intended to be accessible for those without any SQL experience, so each Database Detective is given an introductory textbook when they start! This short textbook is less than 20 pages and explains everything that’s needed to solve each case.
If you still have trouble writing queries, our comprehensive error messaging system will tell you exactly where your query went wrong, making it easy to correct your mistakes.
Still not enough? Each Database Detective is assigned an assistant who’s ready to answer any questions you might have, whether they be about the case itself or the SQL queries you’ll need to write!

Understanding how to manipulate data using SQL is not the only part of being a Database Detective! Your job will also require you to piece together evidence and clues, just like a real detective! Further on in your Database Detective career, you’ll have to sleuth through the internet and piece cases together yourself.
Fully voice acted mission briefings at the beginning of each case!
Fully hand drawn art for you to enjoy!
More than 40 websites to explore!
10 cases for you to solve, each case getting longer and more complex!
A total of around 8-10 hours of valuable work experience to add to your resume!
TL;DR
Great concept, clever and witty execution, recommended to both gamers, devs and those who want to learn the very basics of SQL.
Details
In this game, you write SQL Queries to investigate crimes. There's a manual so if you don't know how, don't worry about that, everything you need you find in-game! Should you, personally buy this game? Let's find out together! [olist] [*] If you are a dev and an idiot like me so you enjoy working a little bit after you worked in your wage slave job (a little bit), this game is for you! [*] If you are a DB enthusiast, this game is for you! [*] If you are only curious about how this SQL-thing works and want to learn the basics on a playful way, this game is for you! [*] If you don't care SQL at all, but want to play a fun little game, this game is for you! [*] If you care SQL, only don't want to write queries right now, but you're OK with if you have to anyway, this game is for you! [*] If you totally don't want to write queries, you should understand that you may change your mind later, so this game is for you! [*] If you are certain this game is not for you, this game is for you! [/olist] Hope this helps! The only "reasonable negative" I found is Chapter 7's (to don't spoiler) "social-level browsing" part. That's too "social-grindy" and not enough SQL-investigating to my tasteFor you however, this might even be a plus, though. You may like that kind of "research" as well (so this game is for you). genuinely such a creative idea for a 'tutorial' for sql. It's so so so much more than simply a tutorial - it's actually just a really in depth puzzle game with so many layers, snippets of comedy and also the cutest artstyle. also cautionary tale for fascism?? I guess?? have nothing bad to say 10/10 game, would recommend to anyone who likes puzzle games, regardless of competency in sql. the puzzles ramp up in difficulty quite quickly so be warned :D
Great, the cases are really funny and challenging
Baita jogo, quero mais níveis !
good
I'm a SQL Developer and hate my job, but loved this game!
Not recommending nor not recommending, but there are a lot of issues with the game. First of all, a punishment for being wrong should never be making you not play the game. Then there's a lot of QoL things that could improve how well the game feels. Then if you tab out or do something special which I can't replicate but when it happens it breaks the search window, which means you can't create queries. It does it in 2 ways, first, it doesn't allow you to scroll and the mouse can't go where you want it to on the query, which means when you delete, you don't delete where you mouse is. Then, it for some reason, can cause your enter to submit the query instead of starting a new line, which also really annoying (and made me think I had sticky keys.) For the developer, I was using the windows gaming mode (Win + G) when this happened, pretty sure every time I used the windows game it bugged the search window, but one of the times might have been from going to a side monitor. Then, I have a lot of beef with some of the detective work. Some of the puzzles are pretty straightforward, a good amount of them make you feel very satisfied when you get it, but then there's others where the answer is so out there that you sit there after searching up what you're doing wrong and then think, "In what world was I realistically supposed to think that way?" Gives a lot of Amanda the Adventure 2 vibes with the puzzles. Either that or it's infuriating because if you miss a single tiny detail, it completely changes how you're supposed to get an answer, and that can be infuriating when you have to go through 5 steps to get an answer. And sometimes the clues are your best friend and very good... and then other times it is the least helpful thing ever imaginable. Because it's split from helping you with the sql query and helping with the case, if you already know sql, you probably won't ask it for help, but asking for sql questions actually tells you bits of information that you didn't know/realize you needed for the case. I would say to give this game a solid 8, it would need to change the mechanic for a different punishment that isn't me turning the game off and deciding never to touch it again (which includes letting me skip the dialogue to get to that point) and improving the hints to make it clearer what you're supposed to be doing, including combining the information from the hints so if you don't hit one of the options, then you don't lose information you didn't know you lost from only choosing one. (Only giving bad review until QoL updates are made - better windows, skipping dialogue, and not having the search window bug out)
This one fun
the playtime here is for a single completion, and probably would have been a few hours shorter, but i left it open for a good chunk of the evening idle. expect maybe about 9-10 hours of content, depending on your familiarity with sql. it's cute! and it's been helpful to introduce me to something i've needed to learn for work. my main gripe is that it can be unclear if you've made a recent mistake or one a few steps back, so you have to either kind of take it on faith that you've been on the right path, or you have to walk backwards like half an hour of work to see where your queries went wrong. which! is the point of these games, yeah. but maybe a few (or a few more) sort of stepping stone clues along the way would have gone a long way to be good to let you know you're on the right track. but man, i am thankful for this game as it's given me a leg up on my work training lol. and the language is fully-featured - i googled a couple of commands and was able to integrate them into solving some things to help out. so that's cool! plus there's clearly a lot of care here with the jokes and voice acting and art i'd definitely recommend it to anybody who is like me and likes both research-style and programming puzzle games. get if you have that specific combination of craziness like i do (and presumably the dev, too)
A fun game for getting to know SQL! Levels prgress from simple to more complex SQL capabilities. Great for entry level SQL learning!
