I played this game when Samsung did their Gear VR. It's a great game. 2.3 hours is all I got out of this version, as it no longer works with the Index. It was fun while it lasted. Not worth the time to fix/research, as it seems many have left this game behind. If you have the Index don't bother.

Interesting puzzler. A "hacking" game that works with nodes that has to be cleared a la minesweeper. Different types of "malware" you shoot at the nodes do different things and depending on how you clear a node you can then move in and take over the target node. A bit of strategy is involved. Some node are difficult and some are dead easy, even though they look complex once you see them. Darknet makes a very good use of VR. Just drop the bloody controller rumbling/vibration, it adds NOTHING to the experience other than to drain the battery and shorten play time. I wish Neuromancer was like this when it came out in the 90s, unlike NM from back then, this is an actual game with a challenge and some challenging game mechanics than a linear RPG with the game mechanics thrown on top. Recommended.

This is a great puzzle game you can lose yourself in. I can spend hours playing this without realizing it. Great game with or without VR.

There's a problem about starting the game and can't move cursors. Observed something but can't join discussions due to unknown reasons. I am just putting it here. Update from 2024. PC. It's Win11 and I don't know if it has something to do with it. When choosing the top "Play Darknet", I can't move cursors and there's no animation, however it detects my mouse click when starting the game but doesn't after entering the tutorial (meaning that left click doesn't allow me to enter the node the mouse happens to be on). When choosing the bottom "Play Darknet", I still can't move cursors but there is animation. Plus left click would lead me into a node. I entered the Unity startup menu and don't know what to do with the Input. There are two Button A and their primary is the same, and so are the others. There are 2 exceptions. One "Left Trigger" has empty primary and the other's primary is joystick button 4. One "Right Trigger" has empty primary and the other's primary is joystick button 5. Put in a lot of details and hope some technical guys will solve this some day (maybe in 2124). Have had enough fun with this game on my old PC but met this problem when using a new PC. This game is creative, deep and challenging. Thumbs up!

The puzzle mechanics feel genuinely original, offering something fresh in a genre that often recycles familiar formats. I'm honestly surprised it hasn’t been duplicated for mobile or PC platforms outside VR. One of its biggest strengths is how comfortably it plays in VR. There’s no need for full-body movement, which makes it ideal for longer sessions or limited play spaces. I highly recommend using a swivel chair for easy rotation (it’s a subtle tip that enhances the experience significantly).
