It's a good game especially when you're considering this game was made by 1 person and he put a lot of afford into it..Unfortunately I cannot play this game cause of the flashy light and the kinda fast-switching cutscenes during the match..
I wanted to love this game. Two of my favourite things, wrestling and card games, combined. And to be fair, there's pieces of a simple but potentially solid game here. But there seems so far to be no strategy to the gameplay, with no variety really in the card effects beyond the amount of damage they do. The cost vs damage curve of cards makes no sense, with spamming low cost cards being the best and really only approach. It doesn't feel like a wrestling game, despite the nauseating but terrible looking graphics between moves, and it doesn't feel like a good card game. Admittedly, the game is in early access (though apparently has been for a few months), so some of this stuff may be fixed over time, but there doesn't feel like there's enough there for me to trust that it'll get to something either feeling like a wrestling game, or with enough strategy and depth for a decent card game.
I'm enjoying this. It's rough as heck, maybe too rough for a 20 dollar price tag, but this was a gift from a wrestlefriend. The actual CCG gameplay is real neat! The resource management of combining cards in your hand to make bigger attacks is a cool and intuitive system, and having a dedicated "Reversal" resource to counter cards takes away The Counter Deck, one of the things I despise about playing most CCGs. The idea of playing attacks and then watching your create-a-wrestler play them out is also a really cool idea, but it needs some implementation tweaks. The quick cuts to different static poses is I assume a good solution from a "game using all my CPU resources" perspective, but over the course of an entire match I start feeling motion sick. The flashing lights when you open a card pack could use another run too, I don't have photosensitivity issues myself but when I tried to show my wife the animation she had to turn away. The actual gameplay has a lot of promise, and with some polishing up this could be a really nice little option if what you find yourself wanting in your life is a wrestling CCG.
Great start for a soon to be instant classic!
Being fully influenced by NewLegacy to purchase the title, it looked pretty simple to pick up and play. AND IT WAS! The more wrestling representation on Steam, the better! However, I do have a couple of (Quality Of Life) suggestions to help raise potential of this future Main Eventer. -I planned on creating a bunch of kayfabe wrestlers in this game but I've noticed that the suite is quite limited. I'm currently unsure if this is done on purpose or not however due to some of the selections being mis-numbered (i.e. Hairstyle 2 goes straight to Hairstyle 5). That being said, theirs no option for just Normal Long Hair which 70% of wrestlers have. Maybe this is a oversight at the moment, but it definitely withheld the amount of creations we can do. -I've also noticed that a ton of promotional art for the game features faceless models performing moves. And if you don't mind me asking, I think it would be a SWEET selectable feature to use that model as a base as well to put textures on. Considering the normal model makes certain textures look a little wacky due to how its mapped (I had trouble making my Rock look like THE Rock) -Also this a bit of a nitpick so feel free to disagree. But making a move deck for a wrestler your trying to replicate is a little annoying without the full access to every move in the game. I fully understand the grind concept to get the cards, but once you download a Workshop Creation anyway you just end up getting cards that you don't own within your collection. Which could be a bit exploitative in that sense. I also don't want to run the risk of someone creating Kane with his move deck consisting of moonsaults because that's all they got. -I would love the option to Republish your existing creations for update purposes, like adding new attires to them or new poses and appearance items as the game updates along. -(BUG) The lighting in some arenas makes the blacks on the 3d items of attires (i.e. Boots, Kneepads) look white. Which can throw off certain creations. -(BUG) Lowering the volume on all available menu options still results in some miscellaneous sounds being made throughout the game, such as crowd noises & menu sfx -(BUG) Pressing ESC or just backing out without saving within Create A Wrestler STILL creates the wrestler. -(BUG) Choosing Windowed Mode in the options menu doesn't work at all. However I have figured out a workaround by pressing F11 for those who are concerned. -(BUG) I believe Created Cards inserted into created wrestlers Move Decks appear BLANK once the wrestler is downloaded from Workshop. Most of my gripes come from being a creator, I personally think the Gameplay is great as it is! Some personal features I would love however is a RNG system between 3 standard reversal animations and winning animations; A menu pose creator would be nice as well; It should also go without say that we need a female body model eventually. I've codded and modded a few games in my time, So I for-sure know the trials you have to leap through to give us a product we all love! Great Start Shannon, Keep it coming!
A CTG Wrestling game, holy crap! The game is still in early access and needs some quality of life things. You can only have one wrestler in grind mode and you can't see what your cards do if they are in your deck. Currently you have to take them out of your deck to see what they actually do. You can customise your wrestler (quite limited for now), cards (Including upgrading and mutating them) and even make new cards and poses yourself which is really nice. There are no micro transactions and the game does play out like a wrestling match. You only have a certain amount of reversals in a match so you have to bump the weaker moves and reverse strong ones. You can even watch the match back afterwards but the camera zoom is obnoxious, so be warned if you have motion sickness. There are going to be more cards and play styles coming and I can not wait for it. Would also love to see custom promotions and wrestlers (curated obviously) in grind mode, there are currently three promotions right now. The game is worth the price since your not being nagged to buy more packs with real money, you get money for playing the game.
The mechanics of this game are already great. I have been waiting for a game like this since WWE With Authority. If you improve the depth of Single Player mode and add online competitions I will gladly support with more money this game is fun and look forward to seeing its growth
Do you like wrestling? Do you like cards? Do you like janky looking wrestler models? Then this is the game for you. This is a really fun game, you can honestly find yourself just sitting here for hours grinding it out. The card game mechanics are good, not too hard to grasp but not to easy where every match is a breeze. You've gotta stay focused or you'll get caught with your pants down and lose because you didn't count properly or something. There's still definitely a whole lot of room to improve (mostly in regards to quality of life stuff I'd say, deck building is a bit finicky at times, especially when you're trying to organise a fully made deck), but overall this is a game with a lot of potential and is well worth giving a shot. Also it has nL in it and that's awesome. I give this game 8 Erick Rowan butts out of 10.
Honestly this is just a really awesome game that combines collecting and building awesome card decks with wrestling. I love it and look forward to see the game grow.
Love the game! If possible, would love to see full animations in the future. Great game overall! Keep adding to it and card game lovers and wrestling fans will come play this amazing game!
