A very fun, if short, 2D version of Dark Souls. Cute but scary, and with a minimalist art-style.
Fica bem chato depois de um tempo
MOUSE SOULS ! This small gem made by a single developer is a beautiful ode to the much more well known title, DARK SOULS - yet it stands on its own right ! Charming 2D top-down design, beautiful music... Don't let the "cute aesthetic" fool you, this game is rather tough (sometimes brutally so)! Good on you, mister Daniel Wright :) PS (minor gripes) : - on occasion, the startup animations are harder to read than you'd expect - at the time of writing, achievements were never implemented - this game does NOT use Steam Cloud for its saves :(

"Dark Maus" is a nice and stylish top-down souls-like with an appropiate difficulty and a rather short length. The atmosphere is dense and the combat - while feeling heavy at first - is enjoyable once you get the hang of it. Exploration is rewarded and the small bits of lore fit nicely. Sadly, there is no "Estus-Flask"-mechanic, only farmable consumables for healing which may be offputting for some. Can still be considered a classic in the indie souls-like vein!
Why am I reviewing this just now?
It was great and I was in the groove, got through the first 2 areas and then I got to the prison and my enjoyment dropped off a cliff because the game added traps, traps that you have to iframe... which I did only to be then caught by a hunter who killed me and took part of my health bar, making getting through the traps again much harder, and, assuming I get through the traps, I'll only be destroyed by the hunter most likely
A great homage to Dark Souls 1, as well as interesting and fun of its own right. It has a distinctive and memorable atmosphere. I truly wish the developer had been able to make this with more people and expand on it, make some DLC or a sequel, because I was left wanting more. Still, I appreciate that he made this at all
The game is amazing, but there are far too many traps
It's pretty cool top-down Souls-like game.
Une véritable immersion réaliste dans la rude vie des souris combattant les morts-vivants revenus les hanter dans des terres déchues.
