I’ve played a handful of Nancy Drew games and enjoyed each one. I did not enjoy this one. Several of the puzzles were too challenging especially the chemical puzzle at the end. The ending was lackluster. You can pass on this one.
Great, interesting setting and plot. But not enough hints. Got so frustrated at the very end due to the difficulty of the puzzles.
The puzzles in this game are so convoluted it was hard to get through without help.
At 30 years old, playing on the junior detective level, I still needed to look up hint or sometimes just the answers for the puzzles. This game overall was super frustrating. I did like the fact there were so many puzzles, but the frustration was not worth it, this game made me insane. I'll recommend this game just because for someone smarter than me it would be a fun challenge.
This is definitely my favorite Nancy Drew game. I enjoyed all of the puzzles and mini-games in this one. The story was very engaging and fun. It can be a little eerie, when I first played it (when I was around 12), it definitely scared me, but I still very much enjoyed it!
This game is great. It's my most played Nancy Drew game for a reason. The puzzles are well thought out, the setting and cast are charming, and the story is super fun.
Man, I really don't know whether to reccomend this one or not. First, the good: - Spooky vibes are on point - Music goes HARD - *some* of the puzzles are excellent - The world is really fun to explore - The story and mystery are excellent - Drink minigame goes HARD Now the bad: - Most of the characters are quite bland - The late game puzzles vary from tedious to downright excrutiating (looking at you chemicals) - The final area of the game is agonizing to get through. It kills the story's momentum and has nothing but overly complicated puzzles that aren't even remotely fun to do. This is the part of the game that takes this game from being great to being borderline bad. I think overall this game *does* have it's merits to playing it and is definitely enjoyable for the first 75% of the game. Just look up a guide for the final area, it's truly agony. 6/10
The retro level design, the voices, and the whole atmosphere are very cozy, with a touch of creepiness and whimsical elements. For example: Why does the groom’s best friend have to sleep on a fold-out bed in the entrance of a castle ruin that doesn’t even have a roof? We will never know. I found that entertaining, just like the funny ways of sinking into the bog or dying in other ways. But the puzzles are a total nightmare, and you’re always thinking, “Okay, this is the puzzle where I’m going to get stuck.” That was very stressful.
Amazing Nancy game! The beautiful Irish music alone is enough for me to replay this game. I love the puzzles, the setting, and quirky characters!
Good Atmosphere- Irish pubs, moor, cozy cottages and castles- all night time. Leisure game with great reading on Gaelic calendar and constellations. Absolutely stunning flowers.
