About
Cursed Blood is a brutal 1–4 player co-op roguelike set in a twisted bloodpunk samurai world, where ruthless apes wield katanas in a revenge-fueled rampage against the mafia that desecrated their sacred Shrine of Vermillion.
The Shrine now calls for retribution — and it’s paid in blood, delivered through unrelenting katana combat and sheer brutality.

Mix both online and local co-op seamlessly — couch warriors and distant friends can join the same blood-soaked run.
Or go solo and carve your path through vengeance alone, armed with nothing but your blade and rage.

Dash, deflect, and dismember with samurai precision. Chain lightning-fast moves, brutal takedowns, and charged slashes into seamless high-speed melee combat.
Unleash devastating finishers and heal by consuming the blood of your enemies — every strike feeding the Shrine’s hunger.
Each procedurally generated level overflows with danger, secrets, and non-stop, blood-fueled action.

Rip weapons from your enemies and turn their firepower against them — until the ammo runs dry.
Then hurl the gun back in their face and unleash a charged katana strike to split them clean in half.
Blood sprays, limbs fly, and the survivors crawl away begging for mercy. None will be given.

Explore a stunning bloodpunk world where industrial-era machinery fuses with forbidden blood-powered technology.
Collect Blood Orbs from chests, bosses, and hidden loot to unlock deadly katanas and specialized gear tied to the world mutation you’re fighting through.
Earn Blood Orbs in battle to upgrade your equipped weapons and gear, evolving your abilities and carving out your own ruthless playstyle.

Face a brutal roster of evolving bosses — each mutating into stronger, more vicious forms mid-fight.
Slay them, take their heads, and offer their remains to the Shrine of Vermillion to restore balance through carnage.

Unlock World Mutations that twist the rules of combat and reshape every run. Conquer them to earn new katanas, powers, and endless replayability.
Cursed Blood is a relentless roguelike co-op action game — a challenge to master, a feast for the violent, and something to sink your teeth (and blade) into for hours on end.

The game in its current state lacks content. There's only two bosses and then your run is over. There's a good structure in place for the game to expand upon, but at the moment there's really no reason to keep playing. Visual clarity with 3 people playing is low. It's chaotic, and not in a good way. It's quite easy to get hit and lose your character when everyone is piling on the same enemies. In the one hour of coop gameplay, 3 times someone got stuck in the terrain. There's no unstuck button so we were forced to walk off screen to kill the stuck player, which also causes everyone to lose HP. Performance is alright. Though this game shouldn't drop < 60fps with a 5800x3d and 5070ti. This could be a good game in the future, it's just lacking in its current state.
Cursed Blood is a fun little Roguelike so far; it looks good, has nice world building, savage attacks, combo chains, blades, guns and more importantly, a great foundation to build upon. CB is playable solo or up to 4 players. Currently there is 2 bosses worth of run length (as of launch day 2nd April '26), but there's more content than just the areas and 2 bosses. You unlock different run types, different difficulties for your runs, new blades and new gear options. Whilst the initial starting run and its difficulty is on the easy side (Only died in a blood ritual) there is a small learning curve to master in your positioning, attack windows and dodge timing, especially for harder difficulties and modified runs. You start out in a simple starter run. It introduces the games mechanics to you, is a forgiving difficulty and unlocks layers of the combat and mechanics presented in the game gradually, rather than down your throat all at once. Mastering chains of attacks together feels satisfying, ricocheting bullets makes you feel like a god, and watching enemies flop apart after you slice them in half looks awesome. The game runs well playing solo, whilst recording and other background apps. I played on Keyboard and Mouse rather than control and it works fine, its smooth but obviously comes with the challenge of the camera angle to movement direction being awkward (W + D to move "forward" / the top right) but this is just how it is for KBM and thats fine, I'm used to it, no issues, it works for me. Does the game need extra content? Yes, but its coming! You can read the plan for Early Access just under the box to make your own review! At the end of a completed run, it will also tell you what is next and that its coming soon! There's enough replayability through difficulty and modifiers right now to play more than I have at time of writing this (just under an hour), not to mention the different buffs and curses you might get during a run that will make them slightly different. Yes, I recommend this game and it should only improve. Some ideas for EA and post 1.0 launch from my end would be things like random order runs, endless runs, more boss patterns or variants of bosses, extra biomes, arena variations (if there isn't already), new enemies or maybe even new characters / fighting types / weapon types (Bulwark or Gun-urai Ape?!) Either way, game is cool. More content good yes.
There's lot of potential and room for improvement. I've played it solo and the gameplay was smooth. Anyway, the campaign is incomplete (there's only 2 levels).
挺帅的,但是第一关就很难过!而且给你诅咒也是很恶心,让你持刷还没局外成长。怎么打?每个人物毫无区别,2026,策划这么简陋的?凭借什么卖这么贵。。。。。
I absolutely love the setting with the samurai monkeys, and the levels are designed in a very atmospheric way. What also really appeals to me is the slightly slower pace. Instead of constantly rushing from one group of enemies to the next, you can explore the environment at your own pace and are almost always rewarded for doing so. This pacing is also reflected in the combat. Rather than overwhelming the player with hordes of enemies and relying on button-mashing, the game throws fewer enemies at you at once while encouraging more tactical thinking. You have to react to enemies, dodge, parry, or use specific attacks to heal yourself through finishers. You can even choose to sneak around and eliminate enemies one by one when the opportunity arises. Of course, in terms of content, the game is clearly in Early Access, which is noticeable in areas like the limited upgrade options. But that should be obvious to anyone buying games that are still in development. So, if you like the setting and prefer a more tactical, satisfying combat system, you’ll already find a very fun roguelite here with great potential for future updates.
Cursed Blood is a challenging and fun game. Early access rough edges not withstanding.
Middle Age Mutant Samurai Monkeys.
Samurai Ape Simulator? Yes, please. https://youtu.be/Q2eYN_-qiE4
A nice looking game with pretty tight gameplay. Really like the gore and executions! Combat is more like an action game than the stiff stuff im used to in rougelikes which is nice. The perks are fairly varied and ive been able to create some fun semi-op builds. Curses can be a bit punishing sometimes, but otherwise I'm having a lot of fun!
This really is a “can’t recommend” rather than a don’t recommend. I think this could actually be really good because it IS fun. In its current state however, the content does not justify the cost. This should honestly be a free to play demo with tons of hype saying there’s more to come to get people ready for a full(er) release. I get theres challenges to provide some replayability and things to unlock, etc.…. It’s still just two bosses and two levels with a circular gameplay loop for $13. When there’s more content, I’d recommend it. But right now, I can’t.
