Curse of the Dead Gods

An ARPG with the additional busywork of having to light torches during battle. Unfortunately, the torches go out if hit by enemy attacks. While in darkness, traps are hidden and you take additional damage. You can't hold a torch and your weapon at the same time, so you end up fighting for a few seconds, relighting the torch, then fighting for a few more seconds in a loop that's more annoying than exciting. Finishing attack combos drains the stamina bar used for dodging, so you'll be fighting several waves of enemies and need an immediate dodge but end up staying in the attack path of an enemy; makes the game feel unresponsive. Features a parry mechanic that isn't useful because the game favors swarms of enemies on different attack timers.

Its an ok game, for a rouguelike its really repetitive, it is not that hard of a game, so you just venture to the dungeon doing everything all the same, the weapons doesn't really matter, so unlocking them is not that useful. the combat is fun, repetitive but fun, the curses may be stressful or fun depending of the level of masoquism one can handle. The GREAT CON for this game is that it really is repetitive but not in a fun way as some other rouguelikes tend to be. The illusory of personalization is just that, an illusion, and the grinding for resources is not enjoyable. It's an ok game with an ok challenge, so if you want to buy it, buy it in discount

8 из 10. Интересная механика света, "Чистый рогалик" - лишь оружие и забег. Но для меня оказалась очень трудной. Пройдя 40-50% игры удалил, т.к. не смог пройти дальше за несколько часов.
