It's fun but no updates at all, only worth $5 at this point. Negative review because current price tag and completely abandoned for almost 10 years now
Small scope or abandoned too soon. Not worth the price.
I was one of the first people to beat this game and it never got better. This game is awful and the devs abandoned it really early.
the game was fun for a bit but got abandonded by the developers
GREAT GAME!! Only negative reviews are focused on the devs "abounding" the game. Not a valid argument. I'd much rather this beautiful game be left alone than barded with updates and micro transactions, which could have been SO easy with what kind of game this. 10/10 would recommend. Fun with friends, Procedurally generated maps so it doesn't get old fast. This game does not deserve a "mixed" review status, which is why I decided to even make a review, this game is great!!
I got this game way back when it came out, and after almost ten years I thought I'd come back and give it a proper college try. I really wanted to like it. It had everything going for it: co-op with up to 4 players, a cool aesthetic, and some souls-like combat thing going on. But I just can't get into it. You have, at the core of it, maybe three or four weapon types with their own swing patterns. They're all fine. The gameplay is just clunky and not especially fun. The enemies are fun looking, and there is some variety there, but the strategy for fighting just about all of them is: run away a little, swing the weapon you have back at the enemy, then repeat. It seems the majority of the time using lock-on is a Bad Idea, as enemies can spawn behind you from rooms you've already cleared. After getting to level 6 or so I found myself thinking "man, I hope the next level is the end of the run so I can be done." Good weapons are few and far between. Almost every run I find I have to endlessly hit enemies tens of times despite trawling for every chest in the game. I find I have to get to at least level four or five before I even start to find decent items, so it means the starts of runs are especially boring. It's a shame, really. If there was maybe something done about the pace of the game (there's just a ton of empty space on the levels: empty halls, doors that lead to empty rooms, bridges that lead to places that seem like they would hold a chest but have nothing), and something done to add even a little variety to the style of combat, I think this could have been a real banger. Unfortunately the team that put this together is long gone, so the only way that's possible is with modders, I suppose. Oh, ALSO, it's expensive for what you get.
I loved playing this game with my friends. It got me into the souls-like genre only problem is that one achievement was broken for me and I had to use some mods to get it working. Still I recommend it for the fun experience you can have with friends. Maybe not so much recommended when intending to play it solo.
look man. genuinely someone like you could never understand but in like, 2016? this gane was geniunely the best thing to play. you couldnt pay a million ♥♥♥♥♥♥ dollars to make a game like this. nowadays all we have is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ overwatch. what a miserable world this is.
Its abandoneware.
It's abandonware. Amazing concept and game but the Devs are total and complete morons who won't take the roughly 15 minutes necessary to come up with a patch to make the gameplay better. It's a genuine shame. Don't buy under any circumstances unless magically the devs come back and actually do their jobs.
