About
Cronos: The New Dawn is a brutal third-person survival horror where you fight for the future by salvaging the past. Burn monsters before they merge. Extract souls from the living. Adapt or die.

Set in a grim world where Eastern European brutalism meets retro-futurist technology, Cronos: The New Dawn lets you experience a gripping story that straddles the line between past and future.
In the past, you will witness a world in the throes of The Change, a cataclysmic event that forever altered humanity. Meanwhile, in the ravaged wastelands of the future, every moment is a fight for survival against dangerous abominations that will test both your reflexes and your tactical thinking.
You are a Traveler working for the enigmatic Collective, tasked with scouring the wastelands of the future in search of time rifts that will transport you to 1980s-era Poland.

In a desolate world filled with ever-present danger, your survival hinges on your ability to strategize and plan ahead. The enemies you’ll encounter are nightmarish creatures, born from the remnants of humanity – defeating them will require you to make full use of your arsenal.
You can manipulate temporal Anomalies to clear a path through the desolate environment, and will have to scavenge for resources to replenish your limited ammo and supplies. Good preparation is key. Once in battle, split-second decisions can mean the difference between life
and death.
The creatures you kill won’t stay dead for long. Fallen enemies can be absorbed by others — through a grotesque process called Merging — to become faster, tougher, and far deadlier.
The only way to stop them? Burn their bodies. And do it fast.
If you don’t, you’ll face ever-evolving abominations that will push your combat skills to their limits.

Your mission is to locate key people from the past who perished in the ensuing apocalypse. Using your all-powerful Harvester, you can extract their Essences and have them accompany you into the future.
But be wary: these essences have a profound impact on your journey.
The more you carry, the more haunted your suit becomes — increasing your prowess on the battlefield but also bringing with them whispers in your ear and flickers into your vision, edging you ever closer to madness.

The handling is clunky and omission of a quick turn button is odd. It just feels like they implemented cheap/artificial difficulty by egregiously limiting your movement and it's more frustrating than fun. No thanks.
The game is genuinely amazing and I generally dont have any noticeable issues with the game. Its fun and it really makes you think about how to approach everything since resources are scarce you cant afford to waste any resources but even then if you explore and look around the game feeds you resources to the point where I never once had issues where I didnt have ammo. The story was really engaging and had a really good twist and I was genuinely invested in the story. I am very much looking forward to when the DLC launches later this year.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 31: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 17 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,502 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

J'ai globalement passé un bon moment sur Cronos: The New Dawn. Note : 7,5/10
+ Superb surivival horror atmosphere. + Visuals. Obviously good visuals because of UE5 but the world looks especially good. Everything looks kind of sterile, sometimes the buildings are half-destroyed, other times buildings up to entire areas are completely obliterated and overgrown with sickness. You walk through empty towns and see the last traces of civilization. + Sound. Very unique. Sometimes a bit too spacey but overall well done. + Unique levelbuilding. Especially cool to jump around with the gravity boots. Very good. + Its so cool to walk through half destroyed houses and apartments of people long gone. + Moving flashlight on your suit when you look around looks great. + Monotone protagonist is very cool. The dialoges and the way the travelers speak to each other is kind of unique. That changes later in the game for reasons I don't wanna spoil. + Weapons. I mean, they are your standard weapons like a handgun and a shotgun etc. but its so much fun shooting stuff with it, cause you can load them up and they really pack a punch. + Useful upgrades for your weapons like that mod to check for vital signs which often saved me from a jumpscare and getting hit. + Interesting story. I was really surprised how good it was. - There could be more interesting weapons. Instead, you find 2x shotguns, 2x handguns which was kind of disappointing. - All enemies kinda look the same. Would have been cool to fight against a wider variety of enemies. Maybe fight against some half-transformed humans or defend yourself against humans that lost their minds in self defense. There are a lot more possibilities than a variety of zombie-looking monsters. - "Don't let them merge" is kinda hard to prevent, because you are very limited in terms of fire. You also need fire to access hidden rooms so even if you could burn the bodies, you are mostly inclined not to burn them. You can just let them merge and kill them which kinda nullifies the whole mechanic. You can, however, quickly shoot them before they merge. There are some things which can be improved upon but I think it's a very good game. I love the passages that some people critcize where you can just explore and nothing happens for a while. I think this is really important for a good survival horror game. I played it on normal which was the perfect difficulty for me. Never had abundant ammo/health or no ammo/health at all. They recommend to play this game with a gamepad but I finished it on Mouse/KB and it was very good. (Im kinda sad that they want to aim for more action in the upcoming story DLC, because I prefer the horror survival atmosphere.) Such is our calling.
Horrible fighting mechanics. Also right at the beginning I lost health fighting one monster, and so when I got to the next monster I just couldn't beat them because I had no health and there wasn't a health item anywhere. Do not play this game.
Yes.
Overall game brings a great survival horror style, giving just enough resources to keep you in the fight. I did experience some extensive frame drops in sections with large amounts of organic materials but, over all smooth besides that (could of been issue on my end). Dose take some adjustment to the movements heavy feeling; which seem to give great balance in combat. Story gives decent overall ending to explain what's happening throughout.
Cronos: The New Dawn is a great pick if you're a fan of Dead Space, Silent Hill, or Resident Evil. The atmosphere, tension, and combat all scratch that same itch, and it stands on its own as a genuinely good survival horror entry. Big shoutout to Bloober Team for shipping native Linux support. That's not something we get often, and it means a lot to see a AAA horror title actually invest in this. The native build still needs work though, missing textures and no ray tracing right now, so I'm running it through Proton for the full experience while it gets ironed out. Hoping to see those gaps closed in future patches so the native build can be the default way to play. Recommended, especially if you love the genre and want to support studios taking Linux seriously.
