About
Cronos: The New Dawn is a brutal third-person survival horror where you fight for the future by salvaging the past. Burn monsters before they merge. Extract souls from the living. Adapt or die.

Set in a grim world where Eastern European brutalism meets retro-futurist technology, Cronos: The New Dawn lets you experience a gripping story that straddles the line between past and future.
In the past, you will witness a world in the throes of The Change, a cataclysmic event that forever altered humanity. Meanwhile, in the ravaged wastelands of the future, every moment is a fight for survival against dangerous abominations that will test both your reflexes and your tactical thinking.
You are a Traveler working for the enigmatic Collective, tasked with scouring the wastelands of the future in search of time rifts that will transport you to 1980s-era Poland.

In a desolate world filled with ever-present danger, your survival hinges on your ability to strategize and plan ahead. The enemies you’ll encounter are nightmarish creatures, born from the remnants of humanity – defeating them will require you to make full use of your arsenal.
You can manipulate temporal Anomalies to clear a path through the desolate environment, and will have to scavenge for resources to replenish your limited ammo and supplies. Good preparation is key. Once in battle, split-second decisions can mean the difference between life
and death.
The creatures you kill won’t stay dead for long. Fallen enemies can be absorbed by others — through a grotesque process called Merging — to become faster, tougher, and far deadlier.
The only way to stop them? Burn their bodies. And do it fast.
If you don’t, you’ll face ever-evolving abominations that will push your combat skills to their limits.

Your mission is to locate key people from the past who perished in the ensuing apocalypse. Using your all-powerful Harvester, you can extract their Essences and have them accompany you into the future.
But be wary: these essences have a profound impact on your journey.
The more you carry, the more haunted your suit becomes — increasing your prowess on the battlefield but also bringing with them whispers in your ear and flickers into your vision, edging you ever closer to madness.

Very good game to me the story is very interesting. I love all the sci-fi designs this game has, Gameplay is a heavy mix of resident evil and dead space and I think is very enjoyable besides not being able to dodge or parry. After the first few areas does get a little repetitive but didn't deter me from finishing it. I think the voice acting and characters are well rounded and pretty decent. Can't forget to mention you can find cats who give you items and stay at base. Overall I give Cronos: The New Dawn a 9/10 (Also trust me keep the bolt cutters in your inventory)
95/100 I'm very picky about survival horror games as I play more and more of them. Older ones like Code Veronica are what I perceive as the gold standard of the genre. Cronos: The New Dawn is able to reach incredibly high levels of praise from me, by not just being a great survival horror game, but by being one of the only ones that balances action horror so well. It's easy to compare it to Dead Space, mainly in terms of aesthetic, but both try to achieve that same goal. However, for me the first Dead Space barely touches survival horror because it's just too easy. I wouldn't say this game is HARD necessarily, but it requires a lot of resource management, planning out your routes, deciding what weapons to bring, etc, all staples of a good survival horror game. The combat is often forced, not giving you a lot of chances to skip it, which is one of the reasons why I see this as also being action horror. It's an incredibly fun balance of gameplay. I'll be honest, the story didn't interest me for quite a bit. For the first few areas, while I was interested in the world itself, I couldn't get behind a lot of the dialogue. It felt a little over the top and a little melodramatic. With the full story in mind, I take it all back. The experience, especially how it picks up with The Warden, is one of my favorite video game stories of the last few years. Once it all starts making sense and coming together, those final 30 minutes are such an exhilarating rush that I can't really think of many games in the genre that compare. The sound design is another amazing part. It has that crunchy sound that reminds me of the armor in Dark Souls 1, which is a very high level of praise. Shooting feels great, thrillingly tactile even (those who know), and the general atmosphere is complimented so well by the soundscape. On top of that, the synth soundtrack is just awesome. Graphically, it looks great but does suffer from the UE5 curse. FG and DLSS are practically required if you want to play on max graphics. Despite that, there's very few things that I don't think Cronos does exceptionally well. Some visual variety would've been nice, especially during the Steelworks, but even that isn't much of an issue. I'm disappointed this one didn't blow up. It's entirely deserving of it.
Good horror game
Story took a while to get going, but it was intriguing..... until the end, and then it just ends abruptly. Feels like an excuse to sell you the rest of the story later. Lame, but entertaining enough for 20hrs.
Simple and fun. Good art direction and music.
