I feel like a martial arts master
Overall, this is a good game, but it requires a lot of movement, so make sure you have enough room for that and be careful not to hurt yourself.
Opening view from a martial art scholar: Played the game for over a month. Good for fitness, reflex. Some fight training. It is welcoming to see more and more martial art games on vr being created. Pros: Cheaper than buying a real Wing Chun dummy. It is like a wing chun dummy except with blades for dodging - (which disclaimer wing chun dummies in real life do not have) but the bonus of the blades add evasive reflex training (dodge) - nice change. Has levels of difficulty. Cons: Not me but I can imagine some traditional kung fu or wing chun practitioners saying: WTF Blades (if not ignore). Score: Sound - 3/5 nice music, needs some variety. Gameplay - 4/5 plays good (just the blades makes the game a little off from an actual wing chun dummy) Graphics - 4/5 Good Variety of gameplay - 3/5 A Wing Chun game with higher difficulty levels. Replay - 5/5 It is a good cardio fitness game to keep coming back to. Score: 76% Verdict: Basic fitness and martial art learner. As for a wing chun game it will do until someone makes a Wing Chun game without blades attached (which is inaccurate to real Wing Chun dummies) - so for the time being for Wing Chun interested people it will make do. If the developer reads my review: please add a wing chun dummy mode that doesn't move or have blades (like an actual Wing Chun dummy) - as a differen't mode but still keep the original mode cause it is fun.
I am Sloth no more! Great game that tricks you into slowly doing real exercise while having fun and slowly becoming a ninja. Support also puts the big boys to shame with excellent service.
With this I'll be ready for the next Chunin Exams XD 10/10
One of my favorite training games ,and if you don`t get a good work out in this game, you need to play on expert and raise the speed in the mod section after a while ..Its a so fun game, and i feel like Bruce lee,but i probaly looks more like kung -fu panda while fighting, but it clearly makes your reactition fast ,and if you use rubber bands for some mussle building you have the best vr training similator for sure ....And i have tried them all. If you realy want to play for 2 hours and forget your getting tired this is the game for you ..The only thing missing is full body tracking, but one day its gonna be made according too the devs. I didn`t like the new sticks ,,it could be so more immersive if you just used a long stick instead who can be hold with both hands.
Resumidamente bugeado, es una mierda.
bom
Overall this game is a solid experience. Its a lot of fun to play and it keeps surprising you. Unlike a lot of other vr fighting games this one really has you think about positioning. It might not burn the most calories per hour compared to some others but it by far rewards you for observing what is happening around you and reacting to it quickly and well. Once you add in the modifiers that you can do with each level the game gets way more interesting. I think most people can go into the game and have a ton of fun. Overall its a solid recommend with some room for improvement. For example: I love the Mods you can add to the levels but would love to customize speed even further than just faster. It might be really complicated to figure out how to score the points on a sliding scale like that, but sometimes it would be nice to crank up the speed even more, or slow it down a lot to see how the level works and make the practice more thoughtful. Also one thing that I think really holds it back for me is blocking. Since there is no way to track the elbows sometimes I block and its slightly off from where my actual forearm is. You could argue that that is just a skill issue and I should block with my wrist perfectly aligned to my forearm. But a lot of valid martial arts blocks have a bent wrist to set up for a grab later so it kind of makes sense to do. I know this isnt going to really help most people but it would be incredible if they supported vive trackers for the elbows. I know it would make my time with the game so much better. Im not sure how much work it takes to implement. It might not be worth it for the couple of people that have them so I understand why the blocking is the way it is. Overall its a great game with so much more room to expand a grow. But worth getting as is if you ask me. Which you didnt but still.
I want to say "yes" and "no". Would I ultimately recommend this game to someone? It genuinely depends on a *lot*. I tried this game on both Steam and Viveport. I demanded a refund from Viveport, which is herculean to get. Viveport issues - it's built to suck. You can't change your skintone (you can in the Steam version), so you're stuck with January 6 White. You can't really change many settings, it's just a ripoff. Steam - I remember when the game sucked even more, then there were updates. Now it sucks a bit less. I can pick much closer to my accurate skintone, which is important to me. I also know actual Wing Chun and have trained in it for about a decade and some years. This game would NOT replace a sifu or ANY training whatsoever. The wooden dummy is wonky, the hits do not translate well for Wing Chun style strikes (not everything is with the fist and some strikes are also grapple movements). Anyone who thinks this game can teach them a martial art style is kidding themselves and big time. I thought if I got a better headset (prev: Windows Dell MR, now: Vive XR Elite), the game would get better. Some bits did, like the tracking but that's my hardware. The game overall is okay but not at all great. And on Viveport, where they have zero refund policy, it's worse.
