Only Way is Down

This game is maddening, but it has certainly kept my attention. I believe that I can do it, but the controls and camera angles could be smoother. The reason that I bought it was because you can adjust the levels of "chonkiness", so I've set my chonkiness to the max for a tuxedo cat that I've named "Bustopher Jones". Even though I'm TRYING to survive, I still get a chuckle every time Bustopher Jones plummets towards the ground. I recommend getting it on sale, but expect it to be HARD!

Безидейный шаблонный паркур, так ещё и растянутый на несколько часов унылого прыганья с одной балки на другую, при этом за некоторыми, а точнее я бы сказал за многими аксессуарами приходится буквально прыгать в пропасть и в лучшем случае терять одну жизнь и откатываться назад, а в худшем вообще начинать заново, ну и на добивочку ко всему этому в игре нету сохранения прогресса при выходе из игры, тобишь нужно пройти всю эту многочасовую муть за один присест, что как минимум для меня оказалось морально невыполнимой задачей. В общем не советую, есть куда более интересные способы пощекотать нервишки, чем эта поделка.

ragdoll physics made me giggle + the customization is cute! other than that, the controls are frustrating to work with, the dealbreaker for me was finding out the achievement icons were made with genai embarassingly late, i wouldnt have bought the game if i bothered to read the rest of the discription so thats on me but please guys lets not use genai

I really want to like this platformer/parkour game. It is visually pleasing, I love how the cat looks, that it's cute and you can customise it. At first I thought it was going to be a casual, relaxing experience - you know, it's a cutesy cat and all. But, oh dear, was I wrong! So, be warned: this game is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT and the developer meant it to be that way. Quoting: "this is a rage game and will be extremely difficult"; "it is going to be way too difficult for some people as it is designed to be an extremely challenging precision platformer, it takes a lot of patience and practice to overcome the challenges and become skilled with the movement". There are 6 chapters but only 6 permanent checkpoints (save points) throughout the game, which are only accesible in Casual or Practice mode (and, yes, you will have to complete the game to unlock Practice mode). I do find the movement somewhat wonky, the cat seems to fall very easily, and turning around feels like operating a semi-truck (exaggerated, of course). :D According to the developer it is a short game, lasting around 1 hour for extremely skilled players. However, for the rest of us ... maybe it takes forever? At this point I'm still trying to reach the end of chapter 1. Your cat will die a lot. And I mean, a LOT. There even is an achievement for dying 1000 times as well as a free DLC that adds explosions and gore to the cat hitting the ground. Despite all of this, I want to be positive about this game. I'm not sure how long I will keep playing it for. Time will tell. But don't make the same mistake I did in thinking it was going to be relaxing. It's cute, yes, but deadly difficult. I give this a thumbs up for now, but do wish there was the option to give it something between positive and negative. Maybe my review will change in future, who knows? It definitely is not for everyone. But if you're into difficult challenges, this is for you.
