Am I missing something or is there pretty much no progression at all? Got bored after 30 minutes, by that time i had tons of money and every machine you can buy...
Review update: Within 1 hour gameplay I noticed a few errors. I mentioned these errors in this review. Within 1 day, the devs have fixed 5 errors from my list. Comments are now allowed for this review as requested. Game issue: No NPC likes the sports games. I have a row of sports games that never get used. Sound issue: The game is over all too quiet. The characters that visit the store do not talk. A hushed background noise would be a great addition and really add a level of immersion. Polish: There is no tutorial, I think a very small tutorial would help some players though it isn't overly necessary. My game crashes every time I lose the game. Some of the in game achievments (not steam achievements) are not retro active while others are. I needed to hire 5 staff. I had fired some staff in the past and the game saw this as a negative ammount of staff. I had -5/5 staff and needed to hire 10 to get the achievement. Play this game if you like cute animals, sneaky references to pop culture (t-rex named "Jack Park"!), homage to games new and old (BORKNITE and DUCK NUKEM games!), and of course tycoon games. 8/10 paws. I will update this review as I continue to play through. Notes: Some people on steam and youtube are saying they are having trouble rotating objects. Default key is mouse right click. Again this could be helped with a small tutorial.
Coin-Op kingdom looks awesome! However it does falter a little int he gameplay area, specifically having any management options or any real depth, you place machines when people are unhappy, and that's about as far as it goes. Hardly any unique world events influencing your game, no research, no add-ons, none of the normal management type stuff. Now, don't take this the wrong way, it is still an enjoyable experience, I've currently spent around 2 hours total playing and I'm yet to be entirely bored. As long as the game is further developed by its large team then I see nothing but good things for its future. However, should you buy it right now? In my opinion, yeah, if you want the experience of managing your own quirky Arcade then your going to love this, no questions asked... As allways here is some footage of the game - https://youtu.be/Lr39v0RvnGU
No tutorial, can't rotate objects, buggy, lack of depth. I'm bored in under an hour.
Loving it so far!! The price is at the right point plus a -33% Promotion just for £6.22 ($7.98) I would rate it 8.5/10 some little minor isssues nothing that can't be fixed but beside from that it's solid! I would definitely recommend it's fun, creative and i don't know how you could get bored with it.
The game makes you start over after about an hour and 10 mins it says game over and you have to go back to the main menu. I don't want to start another game after i have been playing for an hour already. Its just not fun starting over.
First I thought it was a fun game. But after a few hours I know. Too simple, too buggy, too casual. There were a few patches after release. But after 3 weeks, the developer has probably said goodbye to the game.
So Much Protentual .. But Lacked So Much There Is No Intro Or Story (Just Chucked In To A Blank Arcade) - No Tutorial, Or How To ... I Got Stuck Even Trying To Figure Out How To Open The Arcade (Clicking Main Desk/Doors Ect Dont Do Nothing) Hiring For The Front Desk Is Again Not "Simple" Honestly Gutted ... Ill Return To See Updates But Right Now I Wouldnt Buy As Its No Where Near "Easy Playable"
Abandoned in Alpha
Coin-Op Kingdom is a pretty simple game to play, the main thing is that you do not spend your money too fast otherwise it's over before it begins. There are lots of cabinets to purchase, the deals are very helpful especially early on but some may feel that they should of made the games harder to unlock as they are pretty much available right away, some more cabinets would of been nice. You can buy ATM's and Diners etc but they are dependant on you having 10k or 20k in the bank so that's a challenge there for people. The downside is that the animations are not complete, the characters may shoot a basketball or looking like they're playing a game but they don't have a basketball in their hands or are touching the controls of the game itself. Overall I found the game enjoyable for a quick hour of play.
