if you like lsd dream emulator or anything of that surreal walking sim ilk youd probably enjoy what this has to offer. a very bizarre and surreal trip yet also beautiful in its own weird way.
Very surreal and pleasant experience
This experience was difficult to assess. The extremely low resolution black and white style takes adjusting to, but this is art. Strange, abstract, seemingly aimless but ultimately emotional, dark, tense, and even unnerving; but never uncalled for. Unquestionable artistic intent. The brief abstract worlds in the paintings felt draining for me, they are not mandatory viewing in my opinion. The exhibits are strangely captivating, and I recommend saving the upstairs exhibit for last, the downstairs exhibit for second to last (the other two exhibits are ground floor).

very good visual appeal and ambient atmosphere, some of the sprites like the smiling guy in the desert are a bit silly and out of place compared to the rest of the npc's in the game but i'm not picky about it that much
Strange vibes, you only need to do the four marked exhibits but can have shorter viniettes at the others
My only regret is that I didn't pay full price for this. Short game, I only realize now after finishing it how weirdly personal it felt. Please play this. Was easier for me to see in minimized screen, exhibits where nice to explore, completely missed that paintings can also lead to stuff but, oh well (see? If you're forgetful there IS replayablity!)
It's kind of an experimental/surreal/existential sort of thing. I felt like it focuses mostly on some darker attributes of life, so if you're looking for something lighthearted and upbeat, you probably won't find it here. But if you don't mind some melancholy vibes and dispirited messaging, then you might be able to look past the depressive qualities and just appreciate the unique atmosphere.
Amazing concept!
Fin Deevy's ///CODA is a vaporwave influenced walking sim. Subtitled (an interactive experience), its very much a facsimile of a game. You enter a museum, and you can enter the paintings in the museum to enter the landscape of the painting or maybe the intention of the artist. The program ends in about 2 hours, the main meat of the game is 4 short vignettes dominated by a connecting thread of doom and gloom. Each one has its own "theme" but the difference is more similar to choosing what colour of sad Mtn Dew you like, as the differences are very much on the most superficial layer possible. Nothing about the game drags thoughbeit and the product is good for what it is and you get a decent amount of abstract art in video game for looking at. Its a good debut and I most look forward to seeing the dev apply this visual style into a future game with either a more cohesive and in-depth narrative or a more interactive entertainment delivery device, the art style feels perfect for a puzzle/adventure title or even a Kingsfield-like dungeon delver.
