Гильдия Ящеров
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3389638222
My Experience I picked up Indemon Tales thinking that it might be the type of action RPG that lets me create a build, and to some degree it does. There isn't much of a skill tree to speak of, but you can craft, purchase, and equip a variety of items, armor, weapons, spells, and accessories. There are a variety of different effects that can be found on these components, and a player could certainly create something more or less cohesive from these pieces. Personally, I attempted to create a heavily armored melee fighter that wielded a blade and accessories that allowed me to gain health on each hit. I started out enjoying the game well enough. It had a compelling premise (a human attempts to survive after being captured by a camp of monsters), and it was neat to have a monster partner (Gwen) who goes on expeditions with you. In managing Gwen, the game allows you to switch between "solo" and "party" mode. In solo mode, only one character is used at a time and you can switch between the characters at will. In party mode, whichever character is not selected will attack on their own and play a support role. Although I did try to keep Gwen outfitted with gear that was almost as good as mine, she became pretty adept at dying over and over. The loop that the game establishes can be quite satisfying. You'll leave the camp and travel to a dangerous location (usually a multi-level cave), where you'll attempt to collect resources and gain experience by slaying the enemies occupying the area. You'll return to the camp and use the resources to complete daily quests and craft new and more effective armor, weapons, spells, etc. I unfortunately didn't realize until later when I was watching a Let's Play video that I could craft potions. But the combat doesn't feel great, and your character's physical attack is this weird little swipe that isn't very satisfying in a tactile way. Despite this, I initially found myself engaged, attempting to collect the specific resources needed to craft the weapon and armor I wanted for my build. Unfortunately, friction soon emerged that slowed my momentum. Certain levels within the caves are especially dark, which makes it quite difficult to see. You can cast a light spell or switch to Gwen (who has innate Darkvision), but neither of these feels particularly good. To make matters worse, there are enemies like mosquitos and ground sharks (I don't know what else to call these) that can initiate attacks from outside of the little circle of light your character can create. Although I was constantly trying to collect the items needed to craft, my inventory space always felt painfully limited. I was constantly rearranging and dropping things to make room. Additionally, the difficulty of the game soon ramped up in a way that was difficult to manage. I attempted to create the best weapons, armor, accessories, etc. that I had access to at a given time, but I began to die more and more quickly. You can't save at-will in Indemon Tales, and it can sometimes be painful to be thrown back to the camp after perishing yet again in a pitch-black cave. Overall, I liked the concept and the loop created by developer Luzian. However, the game could benefit from fewer dark cave levels, less irritating enemies, more inventory space for all the crafting components required, and more satisfying and functional melee weapon strikes.
Disclaimer; I befriended the dev as I played throughout the game. But I will say how I've felt throughout the game from start to finish. Cute art style, enjoyable story, well written characters, some intense boss fights and overall a good time. You can feel that Luzian has put in a lot of love and effort into this and trust me when I say that it's worth the price.
Very fun little game, very fun characters with humor in it too and did not expect to get this invested into it but the story drove me to finish it and what a lovely ending For a bit of knowledge be sure to farm a bit otherwise you may softlock yourself because a story boss is too hard due to lack of good gear or you ran out of items such as potions. Early game put your stats into HP and some into mining and power, do not worry about magic until midgame where you get to play with the fun spells (tho special moves use mana so can opt a bit into mana) and telling you rn you will ALWAYS need money there will never be enough Also am wondering about the stones to put into the 7 pillars after going in the ruined portal, i assume you get one from the endgame dungeon where you start off at Lv1 with just your starter gear and have to go through the entire game collecting gear. I've found 6/7 of the stones and wonder whats in that place if i get all seven of the stones Edit: Props to the developer showing where the last stone was at and without too much spoilers, in that dungeon you unlock after putting in the 7 stones is a 50 floor dungeon with the hardest boss in the game, im talking shredding about 1/4 to about half your HP bar with one hit or two so you'll probably have to be around lv80's with the best gear in the game and ALOT of the best potions to challenge the boss. Good Luck : )
Gooned to the characters. (Some music from) Vbuh my beloved mmm yes yes.
I've waited to do a review until I completed the main story. In addition, the time shown is not indicative of how long it'll take to complete the game. I used some memory editing to get through some bits easier/faster. The game takes longer to get through. I must say that, at first, I was concerned this would be yet another case of a "half-baked, abandoned RPG Maker" type game. Turns out that's not the case. The game was clearly made with time, effort, and care. Without spoiling anything, the game takes place in a world with a human kingdom and a demon/monster kingdom (demons being better treated, and monsters, a generic term for pretty much everything else, being treated poorly in comparision). You play as a human that was captured during a raid on a village in which you were basically abandoned by your fellow villagers, and are made to work for a demon's guild, partnered with and made subservient to Gwen, a female Kobold. After some time you essentially end up wrapped in some kind of major conspiracy and wind up working alongside, and befriending, your former captors. There's plenty of places to explore, tons of equipment, a simple crafting system, and you can choose one of few major ways of fighting (melee, magic, or combine the two). There are some puzzles and boss fights as well. To make a quick note of the things I like: -Game is definitely worth the price for the time you'll spend playing, even if you just go through the story. -Combat is real time, and you can mix and match different equipment, weapons, and so on. -You're pretty much always traveling with Gwen, and you can equip her the same way as yourself. Just in case someone gets confused, she'll attack with whatever's in the first hotbar slot (be it a sword, spell, etc.). -The story is honestly not too bad! -Gwen best Kobold. -Tons of locations to explore, along with a toggle option to make going through said locations harder in exchange for better loot. -Tons of equipment you can find, craft, buy, etc. -Not super easy, also not excessively hard. Personally I think the game's decently well balanced. -The developer is actually a decent person, listens to feedback, and engages with the community. Certain other devs can learn from their example. -just buy the game. its like $7. what are you going to spend $7 on? a box of snack cakes? Now, for a list of personal gripes or things I wish were added: -No map in any of the dungeons. I'd be fine with an artifact (special type of item with it's own equipment slot) that showed a basic map of where you're at. -Cannot pet the Kobold. :< -No option to bring up a list of controls. A simple list in the pause menu showing what all of them are would be nice. -There doesn't seem to be much, if any, post-main story dialogue from characters or any noticable changes. A great example of post-story dialogue/content would be Pokemon Explorers of Time/Darkness. Not the best comparison, but for some reason this comes to mind first. -When traveling with someone I think it'd be neat to be able to talk to them. Get their thoughts on the area, or maybe puzzle hints, things like that. Would make it feel more like you're traveling with a person, if that makes sense. -Cannot date the Kobold. :< -Your character's portrait for the inventory screen feels weird compared to everyone else, as yours shows your whole body while everyone else's just shows their head. -When dashing there's a sort of "blur" behind you while moving that's missing hair, armor, etc. and just looks a little weird. In short, an overall good game made by a decent person that's well worth the price. May include a little XP grinding, though.
Hey! Forgot to leave my review after the finishing the game! This game has a wonderful story that held my interest from beginning to end! Though if I had to nitpick, it does dump a lot of characters on you, I kinda forgot who was who within the demon kingdom. It'd probably make more sense for either a codex/lorebook to flesh out to 100% completion through gameplay or a NG+ to really digest the story. Indemon Tale's gameplay may be janky to some people, as it plays like a scuffed Stardew Valley, but it's do-able once you get the hang of it. The gameplay loop is rewarding and you're always making progress to getting stronger stats and gear! And if push comes to shove, you can grind to overcome anything! I used the bomb rush method, it's very effect towards nearly e v e r y problem. There's also post-game stuff for people who want even more of a challenge! The dev, Luzian, is still adding updates, bug fixes and tweaks to the game regularly and listens to his community. I highly recommend checking out the game and if you're looking for some gameplay footage there's some youtube videos floating around of it. ;)
Criminally underrated. Even the most common achievements have rates of around 5% which indicates that people who buy it aren't playing it, and they're missing out. (Update: The dev informed me that achievements were added relatively recently, and this is why the rates are so low) Indemon Tales is like if you took Pokemon Mystery Dungeon (you're part of a guild, doing quests in randomly-generated dungeons, and more locations become available over time) but not written for children. Oh, and the actual dungeon gameplay is more like *checks notes* ...Stardew Valley? You have swords for melee and you mine stuff for materials along the way. You also have various ranged options such as throwing rocks (damage scales with your mining skill), crossbows, or magic. It's also party-based, and your AI companions are VERY competent. They can use whatever skill you make the active one for them and whatever item is in the leftmost slot on their hotbar. If you give them magic or ranged weapons they are extremely accurate and know how to lead their shots and will be an enormous help as you control the frontmost character. The game also has a unique mechanic of switching between party and solo mode, where the latter makes the non-lead party members disappear, which you can strategically do to avoid taking damage. Technically you play as Generic Human #45768454 who has absolutely no dialogue or personality and barely any story relevance to such a degree that I can't help but wonder if it's a deliberate jab at other games that do this. Also, this is fine because almost immediately you get the -actual- protagonist in your party, and you can immediately shove the human into the back row of the party and control her instead for 99% of the rest of the game, barring the occasional solo segment. You have great flexibility with your builds, as all characters get the same skill tree and you can eventually respec if you want to rebuild. You can roll melee, magic, a hybrid, or whatever. No skill or item is useless, it's just a matter of making it good. The game feels very well-balanced as you level up regularly and it never felt too hard or too easy to me. On top of that, this is a one-man passion project for the developer, who did the entire thing (except the public domain music, which is also great) himself. It's absolutely worth the full price it asks for and deserves to be played. It's well-written, balancing serious moments and occasional comedy, with twists that you won't see coming and a reasonable progression of story. It's well-designed as nothing is ever lost forever and the world map gives you hints about where you still have stuff to discover. Solid recommend.
Cute little game, made with love. Combat may not allow hundreds of different playstyles, but the few there are there, allow for some interesting combinations of equipment. I like the fact, that you can instantly switch between your party members on the push of a button, so you can try out different kinds of playstyles at the same time. Here and there rough around the edges, but overall a good game I can recommend. One thing I really disliked were the curses, especially the one that inverts your controls. Doesn't really add much to the experience and is mostly disrupting. Other than that, there is not really something big to complain about. Maybe some nitpicks here and there, but nothing really bad. Overall good performance and gameplay. Never crashed on me once. I also enjoyed the story very much and you really begin to like the characters more and more over time. Can recommend! Also, KOBOLDS! YIP YIP YIP!
Indemon Tales is an intriguing game. The plot is quite good. The equipment and skill progression is pretty standard though . And the character swapping is quite unique. I have not made the most of this feature which would be helpful in the boss fights. Which in my opinion are one of the best parts of the game. I’m still working on defeating the final boss which is quite challenging.
